  1. Things are going to be a lot easier now. I got a better job working for Tri-County, a Chrysler dealership, and the wife just accepted a job at Licking Memorial Hospital working in the CCU. Now we start a new chapter in life. Our oldest daughter starts kindergarten in 2 weeks. I get to learn new things now, I've been there a week and have already done more than I was allowed to try at Sears. I get paid a dollar more an hour and I get sundays and holidays off. I can start getting Chrysler certified after 90 days.
  2. I am currently living paycheck to paycheck. Paying off matco frees up some money each month. We're still waiting on the college to get their paperwork in order so she can take her test. COTC apparently waits around 3 or 4 weeks after graduation to file and then it takes another 6 weeks to get a spot, and another 6 weeks to get results.... where as other colleges file within a few days of graduation. Some of the other students in her class lost job positions the had waiting because of this issue. I only owe 1209.xx to Matco, and the only reason I have Matco tools is because shortly after I started sears split the main store and auto centers. Then we got a visit from the managers of the main store and they had a letter stating that since we use our tools in a "professional" setting that voids any warranties and they will not honor them. Which has since been taken care of by craftsman themselves. So with them pulling that I bought tools from Matco and then went to Harbor Freight.
  3. My original payment to matco was 200 a month. This way I'm still paying less and building credit. I have a capital one card now.
  4. We got 9.99%. Or are you talking about the 0% if I just pay for things?
  5. Ok. Awesome thanks! Here's to building better and moving up!
  6. We got approved for a loan. Were going to use it to pay off my Matco bill, pay for the wifes nursing boards, and fix her car up a bit. The loan is for $1900 paid back over 2 years, going to pay it off completely in 1, at $94/month with an interest rate of 10%. The monthly payment is less than half of what I was paying matco to begin with and this will help boost our credit, the tool bill is just a truck account and isn't reported to credit. For us to get the low interest rate we had to put the CRV up for collateral, lincoln was too old, no big deal we will be able to pay the loan with no problem. My question is next april when she needs to get new tags how does she go about this when they have the title?
  7. On Tuesday I am going out looking for a new job. Still staying in the mechanic field, just need something paying more than 9/hr., and with opportunity to move up and learn new things. Sears has been a great place to start off and learn from, I have a nice foundation to work from. What would you wear to put in apps and to interviews? In school they told us to "dress for the job you are applying for". For this line of work would jeans and a nice button up shirt work? Or would black pants and dress shirt be better? I'm applying at both dealerships and independent shops. Looking more at dealerships to get some different experience. Also if anyone is working at a dealership that needs people let me know. Just keep in mind I am driving a tank with a 5.0, so nothing too far away unless pay will counter drive time. Thanks in advance!

A friend used to work there. I believe she said their rice is just cilantro and lime juice mixed in. Maybe some salt.

I bought a new grill for cheap from work. A customer returned it because it was missing a grate, which we sell replacements for around 25ish I believe. made grilled bbq chicken and corn on the cob last night. with and without flash-lighting in our living room sucks
  10. I just want to put some sound on mine. It's too quiet.

It was still frozen when I put it in so I had it on high for an hour or two, then down to low while we went to Columbus for a few hours. I had some water in the bottom, probably about 3/4 to 1". Left about 11 am and got home about 5ish.

When we got home I checked it and it was at 210. So I turned it to warm from low.

We made a pork tenderloin in the crock pot while we were out yesterday. sprinkled some french onion soup mix on it and let it cook all day. Was pretty good but it dried out a little. What's the trick to not drying it out?
  15. They've been shutting down stores around here. Our business is down alot. I have learned a lot here. It's fun but I don't see me moving up. They keep telling me they have to wait for the training guy. Also if they mover me up they want to move up the other tech 1. Which puts 6 of us fighting over commission jobs.
  16. I work at sears currently, will be 2 years in September, another job opportunity came up working at John Hinderer Honda. Pay is $10/hr, only a dollar difference, but they have other incentives: company supplied tool box, and valvoline points. From what I hear the points are money paid to you for up selling things like fuel system cleans and other things supplied by valvoline. My thought is that we're looking at moving out of state next fall, at the earliest, and while it is dealership experience I don't want to be the guy that works for a year and then leaves and they need to fill in the spot. Also with sears I can transfer to another store and not have the issue of finding a job. Thoughts?
  17. Looking like we will try this place. Menu looks good. Is there a decent view? Thanks! And we will definitely be trying out all the other places mentioned. Thanks again everyone! And if anyone has any other places feel free to list them. I want to try to take her out once a month. Just for some us time.
  18. any idea if they will have the drifting again?
  19. Budget less than 200. I'm thing the Texas place with the melting pot for dessert. Sound doable?
  20. Thanks everyone! Looks like I have some homework haha. Will definitely check that website
  21. We almost went to Texas for our anniversary. How cooked is the meat? IE rare, medium, well? I'm picky I know but Im a well done kind of guy. I'll eat medium but if blood comes out I'm done.
  22. Shes mentioned the melting pot a couple times. I'm not big into fondue... what is there for a meat eater?
