  1. yes the technology is there too make fast cars, but it still takes alot of time and effort to get those times. An example would be all of Underground Racing cars that were on Fast Times on Speed Channel. It was your typical rich guy who spent 50-100k on top of their car purchase price to run 10-12's. I would buy a roller with the suspension work already done and put in your own drivetrain. Of coarse all with cash since it's just for giggles. Your level of fast depends on how easily you want to wrap your car around a tree(which I hope never happens). Some people want a car that will launch and not have to worry too much about it losing it. Others build some over the top shit and accept the fact that outside of a perfectly prepped track they will have to peddle it the whole way half the time or more.
  2. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  3. There is a recall for them that they can shut off randomly when driving. My mother in law has one unfortunately and the dam thing would turn off on it's own on the freeway and other fun places. I don't like them because I feel that it turns in too fast considering the height of the vehicle and it's underpowered.
  4. I'm sure some dipshit group will be driving it on a two lane road in New Albany/Blacklick area within a year.
  5. Rocko's modern life, space ghost(the talk show version), and eek the cat were better imo
  6. we'll the conversation got side tracked. lol
  7. Gotcha. That makes sense. I thought you were inferring to wire taps/big guys in SUV's following people around. I am pretty sure that the NSA is doing that already regarding what you are talking about, but not at the level in order make it successful.
  8. It is fun to debate and it is something that our country needs to do so it can avoid the shitmess that France and England are having to deal with by allowing uncontested Muslim immigration.
  9. I agree that drug dealers should be followed/busted. Yet at the sametime, a random black guy in a poor neighborhood can't get constantly pulled over and harassed because he is a young black guy. If a person is showing the behaviors to warrant the monitoring, then they should be. Just to monitor a person because they are a specific race, is completely against our constitution.
  10. I understand the background checks for employment. To basically be following around people because they have a muslim name is called harassment and grounds for law suits under civil liberties laws. Trust me I cannot stand the bs that muslims get away with and I personally am disgusted that we are spending trillions of dollars to rebuild their shithole countries when our own economy is a mess. Here is the reason why I disagree with you. If you allow one to do excessing measures of monitoring for a specific group, then you have to allow it for the rest of the population. It's not just a random muslim that does stupid shit, there are nutjobs all over the place that lose it for a few seconds and take out a few people. For myself, it's either we go completely overboard and destroy our civil liberties or leave it as is and accept the fact that shit happens. It's a tough decision to have to make. I agree that our government is doing a half ass job deciding who to allow in the country. Politicians are more worried about votes than doing what is right. It boggles my mind how I am racist because I want an illegal immigrant in Arizona deported. I am all for people doing the necessary work to get into the country, shit my wife and her family did it. I am completely against people sneaking in and then demanding to mooch off our system. At some point people need to realize you are coming into OUR country and you should have to complete certain steps. Also, if you are so proud of your previous country, then go back. Simple. Pdgqp, we are pretty close to the same beliefs, it's just I am against trading civil liberties once you are in the country legally.
  11. I agree that there needs to be a more streamlined process, but at the time the individual in question did not display any actions that one would have thought he would go on a shooting rampage. It's easy to say this and that should have been done after the fact. So my father thought he was an incompetent military psychologist, in order to remove an officer from duty their has to be a history of poor performance and the proper legal protocol has to be followed in order to avoid law suits down the road. The guy would have killed people regardless of what was done. I get what your saying that profiling must be used in order to avoid random acts of violence. At some point it will end up being a police/communist state and the constitutional rights for individuals will erode to nothing.
  12. Agreed. My father, who is a retired full bird colonel, actually met the muslim who went on the killing rampage before it hit the fan and didn't like him. He saw red flags himself, but the problem is it takes alot of time and effort to show that an officer is incompetent and should be booted from the military.
  13. Good job on the pictures. Car reminds me of the import alliance thread going on now.
  14. Don't waste your time on a sports management/sports marketing degree unless you are already in the field. A buddy of mine has a masters in it and is still looking for work two years later.
  15. that thread could be a name the stereotype game.
  16. I wouldn't. This is also combined with the mess Ford has with their manual transmissions in their mustangs. Just when Ford is moving forward, they shoot themselves in the foot.
  17. Sounds like a good night was ahead. Either waking up next to a stranger, waking up in a parking lot, or ended up home having no idea how you got there. Epic night material
  18. Shit you never now. On CNN a year or so ago, there was a story about how in LA there was widespread skin infections because some genius decided to cut their coke with some type of horse tranquilizer. The skin would have a bad reaction and start looking like poo poo.
  19. Awesome sig. Heroin is already crack head status, but how in the hell does Horse Tranquilizer come up as a good idea?
  20. Are you from Hawaii or stationed there?
  21. I just read the article an hour ago at Barnes and Noble. I planned on posting about it when I got home. I am no way a LS guy before this article. After reading it, I could not have been impressed more.
  22. Agreed, it just depends on how much work you are willing to do. It's not that hard to replace the floors, heater channels, and luggage tray on the cars. Probally a weekend or two job with the right tools. The hard part is it is very easy to buy a clean looking car to find out that is basically needs to sand blasted/acid dipped.
  23. I would go for the 71 convertible if that all is available. For resale value, I would recommend the 70 and older. VWs are super easy to work on and parts are easy to find once you know the right websites/people. If your only using the car to drive around town when it's warmer out, I would definately go for a convertible. I had two so far in high school and college as daily transportation in Hawaii. A convertible vw just turns it into a whole different driving experience. I doubt though, that the cars would be easy to drive in the snow and you would freeze your ass off regardless if it's convertible or not. Just be warned, that once you start working on your vw.... you will end up getting hooked on the car.
