  1. No shit. I didn't know that. If I remember correctly the Solstice transmission has also started to find it's way into Supras.
  2. No shit. I didn't expect older VW's in Columbus. Hopefully I can get a notchback around Christmas time and get back into vw's.
  3. My brother in law would know(civil engineer for Gahanna). I should bump into him next weekend. I think Furloaf is right. Cities study the most dangerous sections to find out where the most accidents are, what are the speed bottle necks, and think of ways to fix them.
  4. Ecotec has actually been the fastest in the quarter, followed up 2nd by the old school VW guys, and 3rd was the 4g63. The problem is a RWD transmission. That is also what gets the 4g63s price up there. They do have viable RWD adapters, but the cost adds up quick. It just depends how much and how far people want to go into it. By the time you buy all the adapters, custom flywheels/converters you could have a junkyard 2j or LS engine going faster for way less.
  5. I am sorry to hear the loss. Unfortunately the warmer weather brings these sort of things.
  6. Was it a black or white guy? If I can remember correctly, there was a Red srt-4 that picked someone up at my work a week or so ago in Dublin that had the typical srt-4 napoleaon complex.
  7. Got anymore info on the ford 3.0? What are they found in? Another option is the sr20-ve. You can grab a sr20 block and slap on a VE head for variable valve timing.
  8. I don't have one, but you should check on http://www.thesamba.com or cbperformance. Their old school vw guys and they use them all the time for webers.
  9. I'm excited about the cars engine potential. It just depends on how strong the block will be. The Yamaha head design is a major plus and I am sure the car will kill s2000's.
  10. You're right on. The r33/r34's were unreal. Another option would be to buy a fast street car for 10-15k and save the rest or take the extra money and invest into what got you successful.
  11. http://mansfield.craigslist.org/cto/2316636886.html Notice that it's a 4 cylinder aparently.
  12. SRT-4's are fun. The good thing about them is replacement parts are everywhere and the old school guys who use to turbo the old 8 valves are a great resource for information.
  13. I have one also you can borrow, but I am out of the easton mall area.
  14. My only problem with the rb's is the price. They are definately good engines, but for myself I would go with the 2j-na engine that has variable valve timing and a r154.
  15. So how easy was it to get the laser drivetrain in it?
  16. Since you are already in the VW family, why not just go for a R32 and turbo it?
  17. As long as people sign the release, the cage is up to them. It's kind of like racing the Isle of Man, every year someone will die but it's a thrill ride. I am more suprised that no one has died during the street races at the TX2K events.
  18. You may want to check into having someone move all of your stuff for you. I know a few people that saved money doing that than a u-haul. The problem with U-haul is the charge per mile. It adds up fast. We sold everything and jumped on a plane here. Saved us cash shipping and gave us extra money when we got here as a back up.
  19. I just got word today there are fine. From what I was told Tokyo is pretty much back to normal. Everyone is worried about the reactors though.
  20. This link puts it all in perspective: http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/03/12/japan.before.after/index.html?hpt=C2
  21. They live in between fashion district and Jingu(the massive sporting complex) in Tokyo. I am more worried about the kid and mom. The kid travels all over for tennis practice throughout Tokyo and all over Japan playing tournaments. They could have been anywhere when it hit. I coached the kid for 7 years. Needless to say I became good friends with them. The dad would have been fine getting stuck at work. He would just pass his time drinking at a bar.
  22. Not that everyone may care, but I was shocked: http://www.mmafighting.com/2011/03/12/zuffa-purchases-strikeforce/
  23. It fucking sucks. I still can't get ahold of a long term client and their family there. I honestly have a bad feeling about what may happen.
