  1. I would agree with Andy on the websites. I would say that Autogeek forum is probably the most user friendly and full of information. I went the same route you did, OP and spent MANY hours on the forums and asking question, researching threads, etc.

I bought a Porter Cable 7424-XP and a bunch of products from detailed image and Autogeek. Since then, I have had a TON of fun and pride getting the fleet clean. I can vouch for the soft paint on my wife's MDX and hard paint on my 5 series....the time it took to do both of those was about 3-4 hours for the MDX and 7-8 for the BMW (hard clearcloat).

Here is my thread I did a while back, lots of info and pics in here --> http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108563

  2. Awesome thread, thanks for posting....

Also, if they run the energy recovery system too long, they will run out of gas....so this season, they will actually have to pick and choose and strategize with their technical director and team engineers to determine how much 'juice' they can use each lap.....I'm wondering if we won't see a few people run out of gas on track this season......

I'm with you, OP, I can't wait for this season.....

As I understand it, that's incorrect. The energy recovery system will function all the time, but if the car were to run full-boost, flat out, maximum HP for more than ~2 laps they won't have enough fuel to finish.

The energy recovery system can either add torque on top of the engines power, or it can be used to reduce the engine load in order to make xxx power more efficiently, thus reducing the fuel required.

So, i'm confused on where I was incorrect?

  4. He's wrong on the steering column. The '95's had a stupid slow rack they were all that way it wasn't caused by any other factor.

    Nailed it ^^

All the pixels still work on that OBC, I'm amaze

That was more on E39's, not E36's

Not sure if he's trolling about the car being stanced. Sure, it's low, but I spy Hankook RS3, and they don't look too stretched over those CSL-style wheels. I bet that car is quicker around an autoX than one would think. ;)

    Agreed ^^ Looks like it's a daily/autox/track car

  6. Congrats on all your success. Sounds like you and I are on the same plan, I follow a mostly paleo diet mixed in with lifting and cardo. I myself lost 40 lbs last year. I have a buddy that is trainer at Fitness 19 in Westerville. He is the one that told me about the diet and writes my workouts. He comes from a power lifting background and is now certified trainer. At first, I met with him a couple times a week to go over the new workout. He took that time at first to teach my wife and I the correct form.

After we got the hang of the work out, we went on our own. Now I meet up with him every 6-8 weeks for him to change up our work out. As others have said, a work out buddy is the best to help push you and also to watch your form as you progress with more weight.

Good luck with your success and let me know if you want the contact information for the trainer I use.

This is a great route to take, I recommend a similar plan, if it's in the budget.....

  7. Went with the SCCA guys last Friday and it was much more fun than I was expecting it to be. I was kinda hoping it would be a letdown so that I wouldn't have to keep going back and spending $$$ but it was a great time.

Yea, I was supposed to go to that too...heard it was a good time.....Andy, even with the 'slip n slide' conditions?? I hope they 'grate' it a little for some more traction

  8. First, AWESOME job and congrats on having the self-discipline to do what you did....

Second, if you want to get serious there are couple ways you can go about this.

    1) I was a personal trainer for almost 2 years, and if you find a good one they can be a HUGE motivator and keep you accountable for your continued success. With that being said, they can also add up and be quite expensive....I'm not saying it's not worth it..it is...just be weary that it can add up quickly...

    2) If you have been self-disciplined to lose that much weight, I am sure you can be just as disciplined in the gym....however, you have to KNOW how to push yourself in the gym and if you have never been a 'gym rat' before it may be hard to know if you are pushing yourself hard enough or not.....plus it's easy to just say, I'll go tomorrow...because no one is holding you accountable, except yourself.....

    3) If it were me, I would find a friend/lifting partner to do this. Not only will a lifting partner hold you accountable, but he will also help push you. When you are on your last set on the bench and want to get those last couple reps in until 'failure' you NEED someone there to not only spot you, but push you and encourage you to get there...also, if you lift with a friend, it can be fun and you can bullshit with each other in between sets, and it's not an absolute bore in between sets or waiting for equipment.....lastly, a lifting partner is FREE :)

When you workout with a lifting partner, and then get in your car to drive home at the end of your workout and can barely turn the steering wheel on your car, or push the clutch pedal you KNOW you've had a good workout, and most of the time it's hard to get that without someone there to spot you and lift with.....

    Hope that helps....

Congrats again, and good luck in 2014!

  9. That 'layup' at the end of regulation though.....ugh!

Hung my head in shame as they started chanting at the end of the game.....shitty couple weeks to be a Buckeye fan.....

    this was classic......
