  1. I'm posting this for a friend - this is not my car

I'm starting grad school in January, and need to sell my car(s) to help pay for it. 2002 WRX in World Rally Blue with 171,000 miles. It is an amazing car to drive, sounds fantastic, and has no known issues. Last December I installed all new speakers, a JVC navigation unit w/ bluetooth phone and music streaming, a new antenna, and a low-profile subwoofer under the passenger seat (which sounds great). Upgrades include:

    - Iridium plugs

    - Perrin fuel rail

    - Perrin intercooler hoses

    - Aluminum crank and alternator pulley

    - Catless up-pipe

    - Subiesport catback exhaust

    - Adjustable blow-off valve (original included)

    - Kartboy SSK w/ bushings (best shifter I've ever used)

    - COBB Acessport w/ stage 2 map for 93 octane fuel

    - K&N panel filter

Car has 2 sets of wheels and tires. The original wheels have brand new snow tires mounted. Summer set are OZ Alleggherita (15 lbs each) with Michelin Pilot Super Sports (also new). The summer wheels and tires were $2000. There is a box of original parts that come with the car, as well as an unmounted turbo heatshield, front strut tower bar, and a few replacement belts. The windshield cracked during the winter last year, and I just had it replaced by Safelite last week (full warranty).

    Asking $8,500 OBO.

  2. Kale, FYI, when I'm handing out discount flyers, the number one question I'm asked is, "Are they doing the autocross again?" It's definitely a hit.

Doc, thanks for the feedback, that's good to know. We weren't sure if this was a good event for us to help promote us. Seemed like we had a nice crowd near us again yesterday, and we had quite a few people taking rides and bringing out their own cars. Also happy about the weather cooperating.

Few pics from our end of the concrete.

  4. If there was a building big enough...why not have a very small indoor racetrack for real cars?

I mean, would people pay for an old warehouse that's 65 degrees in the dead of winter so they could race a Spec Miata series all through the off-season?

One of the biggest reasons is exhaust fumes. When we have done enduro races down at Full Throttle in Cincy, they can only have 8 karts on track at the same time because of the CO2 levels that those little karts produce.

They would always tells us at the drivers meeting that if the CO2 levels got too high, they would have to stop the race....and they have HUGE exhaust fans in there too that are not cheap.

I'm guessing this would make it very hard for 'real' cars to drive indoors without it being the size of Nationwide Arena (V8's, catless, running rich, etc, etc)

  5. Here's what I got from my friend:

Aaron was telling me about it last year. From that conversation, it's going to be like Full Throttle in terms of permanent track layout, competitive format, and karts. He said he was aiming for a course with similar speeds but lap times near 1min instead of 30sec. I'm willing to bet that pricing will be similar to Full Throttle as well.

  6. Been debating going to the karting place in Cincinnati for ages, glad there's going to be one closer to home now!

Have been to the Cincy one many times, definitely worth the trip. I know the owners and the Sales and Marketing director there. The owners/employees are all racers outside of work too, I would make the trip if I were you. It has definitely set the bar high for my expectations on this place here in Columbus.

  7. BUMP!

    Updated criteria....can't update OP.

Looking for 93-95 with Vanos E36 325i (sedan first, coupe second)

Biggest concern is rust, I'm looking for very little to none.

I have kicked search into high gear, so please let me know if you have something or hear of something.
