I thought they were going from c6 to c8, at least thats a rumor I heard a couple years ago.

Don't go cherry bombs or anything similar, you would prolly burn out the fiberglass packing in a hurry if the car is frequently raced. Personally, I would go with something stainless or aluminum anyways for corrosion resistance and longevity. Beyond that, I'm no help for sound opinions. But as someone mentioned, if your tracking the car and switching the exhaust for the street anyways, open headers with some tips out the back would seriously save some weight.

It was a fun car, it needed the valve train adjusted and the turbo needed rebuilt among other things. He ended up trading it for the purple eclipse that he wrecked. To the op, if you ever have a problem with injectors staying open, there is a ground on the intake manifold that would need cleaned (common problem). Also he was running a wally 255 with a big single at around 20 psi with no fueling issues (iirc he had 550 cc injectors Maxed with his setup). He was on a stand alone ecm though.

Looks like some cosmetic work has been done if that's really an 84. The front bumper and the tail lights aren't correct for an 84. That ground effects kit wasn't put on those cars until 1991 either iirc.

I saw you said you need 5 grand a month take home to be where you used to be. The problem with that is any job you go after now (especially only having a high school diploma) your not going to make that much take home to start if even at all. As shitty as it may sound, you might have to close the cake shop and be a 2 income household, or maybe you will have to make a lifestyle change. Either way, something has to give.

How was what I said stupid, I simply gave an explanation of my opinion before I gave the opinion. Let me go further with it though. Most of the stuff damaged didn't seem like terribly expensive stuff, I believe the body work would cost more than the parts to make it run again. Also when I made my original statement I had no idea that most insurance companies price the most expensive parts when they assess the car. I would think they would want to go with the cheapest parts possible for pricing, that way it would more than likely be cheaper to fix the car then to write a check for the value of the totaled car. Last time I did it, it was $4 (2 months ago). Have you gotten rid of the old car though? You can't do it if you still have the car the plates are registered to.
