A buddy at work has a 95 mustang with the 5.0 that he needs a distributor for. He sent his to california to have something done with it and they do not have the part. He said he just wants to borrow one as he just wants to be able to take the car to good guys (though I do not think he would be against buying one cheap). He said he needs one with a steel gear as the car is cammed as well. I suggested he buy one from a junkyard and press the gear on himself but he is afraid to do that, so another option could be a junkyard dizzy if someone here is able to press a gear on.

Yes, the hose needs to be submerged in fluid. The idea is you pump the pedal until you cannot see bubbles anymore (that may prove to be difficult on the passenger side though).

I believe there may be a special tool you need to hold the cams while you are working on it. Good luck with it.
