  1. The only way to get the flow number as high on a similar displacement engine with less cylinders is to significantly increase bore/valve size, which can severely hinder port velocity. Do you understand the importance intake air velocity has on making power?

    Yes sir.

  2. No one has mentioned head flow yet. Total intake and exhaust port flow may be better on an engine with more cylinders, since you're adding more valves. I know this was the case with a Viper that I saw in comparison to a V8 engine of similar displacement. The V8 engines heads flowed better, but with 25% MORE valves, total flow was better on the V10, and it made better power.

I took it as all parts given being equal with the excepition to number of cylinders. Intake design, head design and so on. A larger cylinder bore will breathe better due to when the valve open the air/fuel won't "crash" into the cylinder wall and also the combustion chamber won't shroud the valve. Of course the chamber can still shround the intake chare on a larger bore; however with the larger bore you have more room to work with.

  3. I hear the gods are laughing at us with potential rain tonight! Got the LeMans out for a little cleaning and blowing off the dirt today...makes me want to do a spring time dance! Still some salt on the roads though and have to dodge snow melt puddles :(

The weather channel shows 0% till 5 AM.

  4. I know most people won't care for what the tattoo is, and I'm totally fine with that. I posted it to show the quality of the tattoo and not to get praised for what it is. That being said, I am very happy with the way it turned out. I think the colors work great and Andy's ability to run very fine lines is top notch. If anyone has an idea for a tattoo the has great detail I wouldn't hesitate to direct you to him.
  5. T/A has FIPK, MAF, T/B, intake, LT's, ORY, cat back, 9", shifter, D&S C5 brakes and wheels, front and rear sway bars, lowered and lower rear control arms. I also have LCR brackets but I have yet to install them. I drive it all year as long as there isn't too much snow on the roads. It still gets around 20 MPG which is about 4 MPG better than the Trailblazer.
  6. appreciate the attempts, but i said cowl, not ram air lol

    something like this....

9th one down, sorry wont give direct link.

Thats the only cowl hood I've seen for your body Firebird. I've seen them for the Camaro's a bunch but not Firebird's. Most people want the Ram Air hoods. It does look nice a nice piece with a price to match though.

    On a side note:

I can get this hood for my car and then change my screen name to IMSTOCK3
