  1. Been kicking this around internally for a while wanted to branch out and see what the car community thinks, so I guess you all will do. Looking to do a car build as a shop/show car, most likely going something Chevy 350/LS since parts can probably be picked up from random pieces in my parking lot. The big question is... What to build it from? :dumb: We want to use something unique with plenty of room under the hood to work, something already RWD cause...well just cause. Plenty of room inside for people/stuff as this will probably be doing a bit of show duty and needs to hold swag for give aways plus other stuff. Also not looking to spend an arm and a toe, this isn't going to be a $50k+ race car.
  2. The sad thing is, some times that's just not enough. There once was a day you pulled up anywhere and people respected it. Now those people are fewer and fewer. Maybe it doesn't go without saying any more.
  3. Mustang - First new car I ever purchased, with the engine/exhaust/suspension work it's truely a blast to drive any time its nice out. Been a great care for 14 years and will be in my stables till I'm old and gray. LeMans - Because big body old GM with a big block. Comfortable, eye catching, rare. Completely different respect and attention than driving anything new. Stealth - It looks fast sitting still, looks nice polished, makes fun noises and reminds many good crusing nights in the early 2000s. Oh, and it hasn't broken any driveline components in nearly 4 years. Merkur - Evil 80s ford escourt with fun stuff under the hood, what's not to love? Syclone - Well lets just leave it at Syclone.
  4. Hey all just giving a heads up on things up here in Powell, the parts mix is improving day by day all kinds of sexy new parts we never carried before...and on that note...we now have Pentofrost coolant and Pentosin fluid! Willing to pass some solid savings on to all you people who drive crazy german cars that require premium drinks such as these.
  5. Wakes her up don't it? Grats on the new ride, you may notice you will be burning through a lot more gas the next few months to a malfunction in peddle weight. It's a pretty easy fix though, over time it will get harder to push down, right now...well...you hear the sound coming from those poor tires. Hmmm wonder where you could get some new sensors from...
  6. You will feel one HELL of a difference with 4.10s hope your tires had a good life before this weekend
  7. Derrick please do, always like to meet people from the community since I rarely have the time to get out of here and actually make it to an event. And Chris...don't make me hurt you.
  8. Anyone out riding around wasting gas? Or shall I head to the old guys bar?
  9. Sometimes there are some annoying stipulations on the packaging or there isn't a Mobil 1 filter for the car so something else has to be used. We are always willing to work with the community to take care of people though so if something doesn't work out right drop the "CR" card and myself or one of my folks will make it right. Not saying we wouldn't for standard customers...but you gotta have SOME kind of VIP
  10. Was out Cruising lastnight after work in the LeMans, pretty large crowd and really good turn out for cruiers. Police were definitely keeping us safe and everyone seemed to be behaving themselves well. Can pretty much always count on the ACTUAL Good Guys to be on their best behaviors, it's usually us natived that get rowdy. There WAS some sort of issue near 161 and Ambleside that looked pretty dire, other than that great night. And the weather couldn't be better for a night cruise! I'll be out again this evening just wasting $4 gas and the smell of Carb Perfume if anyone is venturing out. Very well may catch the show tomorrow if I truely get the day off..
  11. Unfortunately the best deal going on those is the Mobile 1 filter+oil combo 32.99 for a 5 quart jug and mobile 1 filter So 32.99x2 Unfortunately oil is a rough business to play in these days and profit margins are non-existent
  12. Happy July 4th everyone! Just as a reminder we are open 7:30am - 6pm today and I'll be here ALL day wheeling and dealing! Anyone needing parts/cleaners/whatever we are ready to move some product! Also, for all of you Mustang owners out there we do have a new vendor account with AmericanMuscle to pass on some savings on making your Sexy Pony that much more SEXXXY! (too much coffee?)
  13. Awesome find, wish GM had brought these to our shores sooner might have been a different story. I realllllly want one of these parked in my garage next to the LeMans but it's a quest to find the right one. Looks like you landed a gem and at one hell of a price!
  14. Looks like you found a good one. Congrats! Good things come to those who wait
  15. Have you tested to see what your pressure is? Easy to do...sorry for the late chime in.
  16. Sorry guys ended up out of state for work and completely dropped the ball on these. Please feel free to inbox me with your frustrations and I will get to them after I finish responding to some angry models. My sincerest apologises. Should be my last trip for a while so will get back on rescheduling..
  17. You have no idea. We have to deal with it on a constant basis, especially with one of their stores directly across the street. Even big nation chain parts stores don't have the buying power of The Mart. Thank god they don't have anyone in there who can help you or I shiver to think of a Walmart Auto Parts store...
  18. Just want to say thanks again for all the support and interest over the past several weeks, very much appreciated. While this thread may age my promise to take care of any and all of you as best I can will always be there. Also...beginning to kick around ideas on the next car show!
  19. Draco...as I recall on YOUR day off...didn't you end up with some 2 wheeled monster you don't exactly..."Need"? Damn days off!
  20. In all honesty I am really glad the car went away before I walked in and bought it. Hopefully it went to a member around here who will take good care of and enjoy the beast for what she is. I'm sure most of you have similar feelings about "almost made" mistakes, just felt the need to vent and share mine It's a healing process...ya dig?

  22. You don't worry what I'm stroking Mr. Andrew! It was me just venting and saying thanks to the masked person who picked up the G8 about 2 hours before I got there saving me from buying something I truely don't need.
  23. Oh don't get me wrong I realize kids are wonderful little balls of joy, and being attached to the same partner legally and financially for the rest of my life sounds fantastically attractive...BUT I also realize that then I can't spend my money on ME. To your point Kirk I try not to realize what I COULD own when looking back at what I HAVE owned. Thousands in upgrades here, thousands in upgrades/repairs there...oh the toys I could have. Maybe kids/wives are put on this earth to make those of us with financial self control issues behave ourselves?
