  1. that's not something really in control when flying...they do the best they can, but shit happens and at those speeds and in the air you can end up hundreds of feet off the performance area and into the crowd. It's happened quite a bit in the past. Part of going to the air show and watching dangerous stuff, just like going to the races. Now with racing yo have vehicles on a designated course with all kinds of barriers/fences/etc. to help keep the vehicles inside, but that doesn't always work either.
  2. yes, definitely dont run straight water. The LP is my choice over the engine ice since it's been banned. water wetter is a last ditch effort in a pinch
  3. I used to use the Engine Ice before as it is not Ethylene Glycol based. but a lot of orgs have banned the Engine Ice since it is a glycol based product. The LP stuff is fully approved by all the racing entities.

  5. As someone who has raced both Sv's and newer 600's at a decent clip... They are completely different machines. The torque is very different with the SV. Remember that these bikes are usually on a 160 rear tire compared to the 180, or in my case the 190's we ran on our 600. The torque made by the 600 is at a much higher point which translates to higher speeds. When a 600 spins up the rear, it is very controllable and more of a slide. The sv snaps more if you know what I mean. Also, the SV definitely "squirts" out of corners better and makes it easier to shoot the gap in switchback or esses sections. The SV definitely has a torque advantage when driving off the corners. Remember that the SV's and the 600s are pretty much the exact same weight in race prep. The biggest difference is the long legs of the inlines with their massively different horsepower.
  6. It's not a bad track in the wet. We raced there in the SNOW a few years ago... Still had decent grip lol

haha, i know i know. Need to get a little bit more set aside in my savings first
  8. its this same unit, don't have a case for it though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porta-tree-Eliminator-2000-Plus-Practice-Tree-/271220456023?pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item3f25ffba57&vxp=mtr
  9. I'll gladly pay $50! Those things are a blast
  10. I'm an SV guy through and through. First street bike and first racebike. The SV will teach you how to ride. Corner speed is a must and they are relatively cheap. My move to a 600 was tough at first. The high revving lower torque allows you to get handsy with the throttle, where an SV would spit you off the top. I would love to he back on an SV and apply the methods I've learned from the inline racing.
  11. A lot if guys will rent a uhaul pickup for the day. It's relatively cheap.
  12. Yes I still have it. I can take some pictures when I get home.

    Wow, Paula Deen

says right in your posted definition. "often with force". segregation is an active action. to "set apart" from the "main body". people congregating together is not an active separation from the main populace. Segregation would be like the radical people building compounds to segregate (separate) themselves from the main populace. neighborhoods are not separated from the main populace, but are part of the entire entity.

well if you're broke... then i'll "borrow" that gixxer and let it stretch its legs for the weekend... lmao
  16. a few I crashed out of a RRGC win with 1.5 laps to go lmao. But I have some WERA regional titles and national event wins to my name. and yes Sponsors would be greeeeat lol I think it would be a lot of fun to hop back on an SV and run the WERA nationals
  17. idiots... like has been said, these are some FAST cars/trucks that are built to HOOK on the street. People around here cry about a TRACK not being prepped enough for their racecar, but then think they will roast these guys on the street... lol

there is a great difference between, wear and grip. It really all depends on the speed that you are running/heat cycles the tire has seen. For normal trackday stuff, I'd use the wear bars as a good indicator that you will need to be replacing that tire very soon. I have personally shredded a tire down until the DOT tread was none existent on a side. this was fine for coaching STT stuff, but the actual grip level was gone long before that. If you are approaching the bottom of the dimples in the slicks, I dont see much if any change in your amount of grip. The tire is already well past its prime by now.
  22. Good luck to you and Ryan this weekend! Kick some ass! My times years ago were under the 2008 WERA SS 600 rules since you asked. basically cartridge forks/ohlins shock with 116hp engine build. Quite down on power even then especially for a 6'2" 190lb rider. My own personal goals for mid-ohio are sub 1:36 on an SV650, 1:30 on a 600, and sub 1:29 on a 1000. All very reachable once I can afford it on my own.
  23. Lol I knooooow! Shit, that is a sick bike. I'd settle for throwin my leg over an old SV again. See if I can't break into the 1.35's on one haha
