  1. yea, wide open through both kinks. i thought that took balls, until i started brakin late into 1(2nd marker) with the ass end all over the place and divin into 1 whackin it wfo in 3rd, swappin over to turn 2 and clickin 4th, holding that wfo with the knee and toes slidin all the way through 2 and 3 just nippin the limiter and slammin on the brakes and downshifing to 3rd for 4 while still hangin off, then rappin it open through 4 draggin knee,toes,bodywork and one time exhaust, with the ass end twitching. i still can't believe the grip that bike has through there. BTW, what kinda lap times you put down? i had a 1.06.31 in sunday practice and i'm pretty sure i clipped off a 1.05 when i went out for the wrong class....(i ran down and passed a new r6 that was runnin 1.06's.

  3. Well, i had my first race with WERA this weekend at Beaverun in PA. I pulled of a 3rd, 4th, and 5th(should've had 2nd but screwed up on a 130mph kink( trying to pass 3 guys at once). i, along with everyone there, was really surprised at my performance. i started in last or in the 2nd to last row in all my races and came back from a 10 second deficit in the race i got 5th in to challenge for 2nd. i even ran down some expert riders in a couple classes as well. smallest class had 14 riders. anyway, here are some shots from the weekend. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/t1.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/t2.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a314/owndjoo/t2a.jpg

    gotta love the family! We started out showing quarter horses(talk about spendin a lot of coin...) and my dad and i split off after i won the Quarter Horse Congress in my class in '96. I raced MX for a few years before gettin hurt and moving to drag racing. raced jr's for a few years and then stepped up to Super Comp(8.9 index) in a 8 flat car. I did the DSM thing during that time on my own and now have moved on to roadracing and motocross/supermoto with my own funds. With my parents divorce racing has kept me and my dad very close and we both have a blast. Racing is much better family wise than any ball sport.

    that's a hard # to come up with. the bike was $5k, leathers, helmet,boots,gloves are valued at well over 1500 prolly. 20ft trailer was some $$ as well as our $60k diesel pusher motorhome. we've dropped about 2k in the last week just getting everything ready for this first week. you can do it on a much smaller budget, but we've been doing racing since i was 10-11years old and have just kept getting bigger and bigger every year. we had a 32' stacker trailer when we were drag racing a couple years ago. so this is actually a step down in $$. i've been told by other racers that the average expenditures come out to around $1k for every race weekend. we have 9 regional races this year....There are other classes that are a lil cheaper to run, but the lwt twins(my main class) is pretty much toward the cheapest. inline bikes burn up alot more tires. Some Superbikes cost upward of 30k just to build as well. it all depends on what you are wanting to do. The longer you do it and the better you are, sponsors will take the major hits. It seems that sponsors are much easier to get/work with in road racing, as compared to the drag racing and motocross i've done before.

    oh yea. M4 makes one of the absolute best pipes for SV's. Titanium midpipe keeps it light as well as making some of the highest hp. plus it just sounds great!
  8. i was paying just over that for my sv for an entire year FULL COVERAGE! BTW, the R6 will out handle the busa and would be a lil more "fun" if you like the way the buell handled. busa is much more of a straight line/highspeed/comfy bike.

  12. yea, that car was pretty cool since it was:stock turbo,intercooler,entire intake system/ intercooler piping, injectors, flywheel, fuel system, ignition, etc. all it had was a fuel pump, act 2100,home made full exhaust, and mbc set at 17lbs. on 93 octane on the 3rd pass it ran 13.10 @ 103. AND it was my BEATER!! i dont think it's fast, but it's pretty quick for what it is. so i had a 12 second beater piece of shit( yes it was a piece of shit, this is my point)and a "sleeper" 2g talon that looked like crap that ran low 12's. after living through the whole "let's make a pos cheap car fast" i've now come to realize how dumb it was. yea i'd love to just throw a couple grand at a car and run a fast time and have a blast with it, i did with both my 1g's, well 1k bucks. and notice, i said that if it runs 12.5 or quicker i give it props, so all those cars that you said run quicker than that, i give props. anything slower gets nothing from me, unless it's one of the MINT collector's cars. i value cars that are taken car of, collector's pieces, or fast. the ones that fall in between are just that, floating around in an are of "who gives a shit".
  13. you can make ANY car really fast. just takes $$. i'm just tired of people with cars they think are fast coming on here and actin hard. fast is a relative word i know, but seriously, these kids who pull up revvin on real cars because they have some pos with a turbo and think they are fast running 13's. high 12's are getting to the point that it's not even that fast anymore. so let's say 12.5 or quicker or a trap over 115mph would get my respect. i know of plenty of cars that are really fast that started out being average rice burners. think of coltboostin and his car. that car deserves some serious props. but there are plenty of kids who drive a car just like it with the n/a engine running 14-15 seconds that think they are sweet.
  14. true, but until is has 400hp or runs 12's in the quarter all i'm gonna do is laugh. when i bought a '90 awd talon for 1200 bucks and took it to the track and ran 13.1 @ 103 @17psi on pretty much a stock setup i was impressed. now if the turbo dodge was a daily driver then cool. my '90 was my 12 second daily beater so i could work on the 2g(my race car). And where does this come in with a bike? dont even get me started on all the stupid ass squids around here.... oh and if you are a REAL rider you dont care if it's raining. It's all the people who try to be cool that say stuff like that. So basically, they are great beater/daily cars, but dont act like they are hardcore sweet, unless you have the power to back it up. when someone says they have 275-300hp and think it's a big deal, it's just a slap in the face to any true enthusiast.
  15. yea, when colt is spinning at 100+ on dr's he's pretty well screwed no matter what on the street. full wrinkle wall slicks would be his only help. and maybe a "wheelie" bar.
  16. haha, he said 275-300hp. that's NOT fast. sorry, but if you are happy that you are making stock numbers for other 4 cylinder cars then you are out of it. put down 400hp and then i'd consider it a nice car. also, with '96 dodge ram diesels they are mechanical 12 valve motors. THE best setup. 20+mpg on exact same setup that put down 650+hp/1400lb/ft. no tuning changes whatsoever. srt4 would be the only other dodge turbo worth a darn. ANY of the earlier cars are junk. glh maybe, but it's suck a pos i could care less if it makes a ton of power. i did the whole "sleeper" thing for a few years. FYI, sleeper=pos. sure it runs 12's or 11's, but if it looks like it's gonna fall apart from rust, then it's still a pos. same thing if it's all kitted out and makes 150hp, still a pos. gotta have the whole package.
  17. it's not an auto, so he would be better from a rolly-polly. although knowing you, 65mph+roll would be more of your race. actually prolly 90mph roll. so anything below that would be linn's territory, including a dig. fwd turbo high hp cars do not like digs especially when against a rwd muscle car, manual or not.

  19. basically, yea. if you ever wanna make REAL power out of a factory turbo dodge, then your only option is a truck.
  20. that car could DEF. hit 180mph. no doubt in my mind. i've seen an Eclipse GSX hit 180mph. This colt is lighter, taller gearing, fwd, etc. etc.
  21. where out in the country did you ride? I took john(dragknee) to a good spot out by newark last year. best roads i've found anywhere around here.

    ok, that's what i kinda figured. the 8k area is where there is a big dip in power. it kinda reminds me of a 2 stroke. hard hitting with a tiny powerband. lots of shifting and revving.
