  1. As for general feelings on lane splitting, I think you are always going to piss of drivers when you act as though your time is more valuable than theirs. It's simple jealousy. They're not pissed you're filtering through traffic, they're pissed you are moving while they're stuck.

that's their dumbass problem lol. i mean, are they mad that traffic in the other direction is moving?

really they are thinking about it wrong. instead of thinking i have to wait so everyone else does too, they should think if he can go through there, why wait? i mean he could just sit there and add to the congestion, or he could GTFO there.

i think what we really need to do, is show them how inconvenient it really is when bikes take up one space. a thousand bikes downtown at rush hour, all making a point to stay in line and take up their one space. people will bitch but sorry... we would get out of your way if it were legal ;)

sorta like what they did in france when they wanted to make lane splitting illegal.

  2. My .02 if you are considering changing bikes because you believe your girl will ride more don't. My FZ6 is a comfortable 2up bike but that doesn't make my wife any more or less interested in riding. Just a thought, if you want a new bike go for it, but don't change for someone who may not be interested in riding especially if you like you current bike.

good point. i know exactly what you mean. its not totally like that though... i mean she has ridden with me before on the CBR and enjoyed it except for the seat. we also had some fun rides on the cb750 which is fine for a passenger. she has expressed interest in riding with me and said she would ride more if it weren't for the CBR's comfort (or lack thereof). but at the same time, it would be just me riding more than two up... but i definitely get what youre saying.

To be clear, are we talking NEW bike purchase, or used? An unmolested first gen busa would be a relative bargain. So would a unicorn or a leprechaun. No such thing as a stock busa, and every owner thinks their neons and chrome rims add $3k of value.

used first gen is more in my price range. there are stock or very close to stock ones out there... just gotta do some searching. there are a few ive seen that have some small mods that i'd probalby do anyway (pipe, fender elim, screen, seat etc). definitely there are some out there that have been stretched, slammed and run hard at the strip too... from what it looks like, you just gotta find the ones that were owned by older guys for sport touring rather than the ones that are owned by ruff ryders lol

No mention of the FJR1300? I don't personally have any experience with these bikes, but I would like to get a sport-touring bike eventually, and from what I've read, the FJR is hard to beat.

My 919 is tough for me to go more than ~150-200 miles in a shot, and that would include a short ~10 min break about half way through, but I think I could probably do ~400-500 a day if I decided to go on a few day trip with a few breaks each day.

FJR would be cool, but its a little more tour than sport i think. im thinking of staying more towards the sport end, with some tour thrown in... its heavy too. same with the connie. nice bikes tho for sure.

  3. lol we?

what about the petcock? pull the fuel line off of the tank, open the petcock, and see if gas runs out of it

The petcock is probably vacuum operated so youd need to suck on the vac line to get the petcock to flow. The prime setting bypasses that but im not 100% if the ninja 250 has a prime setting.

  4. Its turning over. Its just not starting. Did you prime the carbs? if your petcock has a PRI setting turn iton that for a bit and give it a go. Then set to on when it starts. If you dont have prime setting keep at it for a minute. You just meed to suck some fuel into the bowls so it can run. You hooked the vacuum line up from the petcock right?

  5. couple things to try before you drill out the screw.

can you get around the head of it? you can use something like a bolt out.

basically these bite into the head, and turn the screw so you can get it out. they tear the hell out of it though, so you need to replace, but its stripped so you're gonna replace anyway.

if you cant get around the head of the screw, you could also possibly try to use a bolt extractor

  6. if this survey is accurate, then why was the FOP against concealed carry? why do they normally support gun bans?

i guess really, the question is, why would you vote someone in as your union president who doesn't support your views?

  7. Go with the vfr John

why? also on a side note, whats up man? long time no see dude! i sent you a message on fb a while back. hit me up some time :)

On a side note, I think there's one of these for sale at Ohio Motorcycle off 271. (Southeast of Cleveland)

I don't think a Busa or any sportbike is going to be very comfortable for your passenger, but that's a plus. You don't really like having the bitch back there do you?

im gonna get a shirt that says IF YOU CAN READ THIS THE BITCH FELL OFF lol

but yeah idk i sorta do like riding 2 up and sort of dont. i like travelling with my girl, we have lots of fun, but she is not super thrilled about riding with me. i think most of it is bc im on a cbr now, and thats not comfortable for any amount of time... the way im looking at it, the busa would be more comfortable for 2 up than the cbr, but not as comfortable as like a goldwing or something lol.

id say that 80% of the time, its only me anyway.

i need to go out and start riding some of these to see how comfortable they are :) anyone wanna let me ride their VFR and/or busa for a few miles? ;)

  8. (Also, will only run if choke is engaged)

your pilot circuit is clogged. need to get in there and clean it out. carb cleaner + thin guitar string (high e) and go to town. make sure every hole is open.

also, backflush the lines from the seats. sometimes crap gets stuck INSIDE the carbs where you can't see. if you do it over a piece of paper or cardboard you can see all the shit that comes out of them. visual inspection is not really good enough IMO. you really need to get in there with carb cleaner and make sure everything is flushed.

  9. im interested in something that i could do some longer distance riding and some two up riding too. not trying to go coast to coast or anything, but would like to get away for some long weekend sport touring etc. maybe take a few days off and ride the BRP, or just hit the road on friday AM with no real destination... not going to do two up all the time, but would be nice. how is the busa for passenger comfort? it's gotta be better than my cbr lol

im not trying to stretch and slam it with a 300 series tire or anything, and im not really looking for a goldwing or harley bagger either.

opinions? comments? concerns? why should i buy a busa over a zx14 (or other bike)? why should i buy a zx14 over a busa? why SHOULDNT i buy a busa?
