  1. Tim Dropped the ball. So here's some shots from this past weekend. If you've ever been at the Convention Center for anything other then the car show then you know the lighting sucks. I shot a 2 day Cheer Competion for one Team. Shot with Canon 50D and 70-200 2.8IS http://freezeframephto.smugmug.com/photos/i-mt8TBcM/0/M/i-mt8TBcM-M.jpg http://freezeframephto.smugmug.com/photos/i-bG5g2xh/0/M/i-bG5g2xh-M.jpg http://freezeframephto.smugmug.com/photos/i-qGf8Ntk/0/M/i-qGf8Ntk-M.jpg http://freezeframephto.smugmug.com/photos/i-Lf54zsB/0/M/i-Lf54zsB-M.jpg
  2. Pretty clean Tim. Im impressed. BTW I didnt see your PM until after you went.
  3. I hope you didnt take what I typed wrong. I dont think you did. Its hard to show emotion in text. You'll know when you sharpen it too much. Its an improvement and looks fine. And if thats good for you and them, thats all that matters. You're doing fine!
  4. You tell me? I like it, I can see his eyes are more crisp. You'd be amazed at how far you can go with it to bring out the sharpness. I always watch the eyes, but I step back and check other areas to keep me in check.
  5. Thats the way I did it in my Jetta. 1 click. Then I got smart and just took out the relay for the DRL's and the annoying door chime.
  6. I can fix it or get you another one. Call 614.496.3650
  7. Great Idea. I made a lens animal that fits around my hood.
  8. You have some OOF shots, and underexposed. Photo 5 & 6 are awesome, if they were in focus. Throw them in PS and us unsharpmask to try and clean them up. Sometimes you can pull them in enough to make them passable. I just sold a 8x12 that was out of focus because of this.
  9. Have plenty of photos from this weekend. Will have 1000's more next weekend. Have a 2 day comp to shoot. http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/392285_258291830884013_128726367173894_728600_1784537116_n.jpg
  10. I was just going to say, put that on F8 and go to town. Ive got a few from Today and last weekend. Got to get them up. Crazy shooting today at the convention center for a Cheer Competition. All day affair.
  11. Couldnt have said it better. If your going to go solid go all the way forward too.
  12. I would put down a DTM sealer before putting anything.
  13. Pull out the shop grill, cook up some chicken or burgers. Well I guess I dont really pull it out because its outside in the summer and inside in the winter. Makes for great meals everyday.
  14. Whats cool is the 3-D effect that it creates. Beats doing the camera toss with an expensive body. Of course that's a totally different effect.
  15. Triple. Like you I sell digital files also. But I sell them at a price that forces the customer to just buy the prints. On average I make 4.30 on a 4x6 alone.
  16. Secure webpage, watermarks, and right click protection. Low-res on facebook. Now I will admit the snipping tool in windows is pretty cool. Cool enough for decent 8x10's. But thats what the watermark is for.
  17. I dont wait on the phone call. I get money up front for their sitting fee. The go online order what they want, I get paid again. Next year grandma decided that she really wanted that too, so they come back to my gallery, order another print, and I get paid once again. Like the lady on the phone. She has realized that it would be alot cheaper for her to just some how get a cd of images and head to walmart. Walmart charges from 19 cents for a 4x6 and they can have it 20 minutes later. I charge 6.00 for 4x6 and it will be three to five days. Im making money on them, after the fact, and I didnt have to lift a finger for it to happen. The perfect example is the senior I just shot. 150 sitting fee for 2 hours, They just ordered 800 in prints. Shes waiting on her next paycheck to order again for her family. Do that with a cd. Thats my main point. Force the customer to buy prints or media priced accordingly. Dont give your work away. You are only undercutting yourself. Being self employed for years has driven me to make every dollar possible.
  18. Wow, we just got done paying 160 for a 10x40 corner unit. I may be able to help you out, Ill look into it and come back.
  19. Your the first to say it. I will second that. Make sure to vac the hell out of the house. Not just like when your cleaning house on the weekend. But 10x it. Throw the bag away.
