  1. This stand requires spools. I purchased it from ebay - the seller said he had used it on a ZX-6R, but I suspect it will fit most sportbikes. I believe he said it was a hindle stand, but it is unmarked. $40. http://home.columbus.rr.com/lmosle/stuff/stand.jpg
  2. When and where? A nice morning ride before the heat rises is fun.
  3. My bike won't go that fast with me at the controls. It was my immigrant friend Dmitri. He took the bike for a spin. He's left the country now, though.
  4. Whodey - glad to hear you are doing well. We all know that could have turned out much worse. At least you get a heli ride!
  5. Air quality alerts exist because someone decided to set an arbitrary value. We didn't have air quality alerts in the 80s and 90s not because the air wasn't as bad, or worse than it was now, but because they didn't exist.
  6. Finally put mine on http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u129/lemosley01/OhioRiders.jpg
  7. Gosh. What a surprise. We get a Democrat in office and suddenly we're so polluted that we should all be dead and we 'need' e-check. I need more government interference like I need a case of herpies. The EPA can Ohio can blow me.
  8. Thanks for the heads up - I'm usually doing 80 through there when it is clear. I guess Hilliard needs the additional revenue.
  9. LMAO - 'Don't get Nifonged' A new phrase, kind of like getting 'Borked' Illegal searches boil my bloood, and isn't it funny that DUI checkpoints are legal whiel drug checkpoints are 'illegal'. WTF? Don't even get me started on 'childrens services' and their effectively unlimited power.
  10. I don't talk about falling. Bad Ju-ju.
  11. What you are describing is illegal. I was never talking about the police doing something illegal - I was talking about 'routing traffic stops' - speeding, running red lights, tail light out, license plate light out, that type of stuff. Routine traffic stops do not mean random traffic stops - those ARE illegal.
  12. Not only would the cost of items go up (since they are now legal they now make minimum wage at least), we also have 12-20 million people suddenly on the dole.
  13. Hence one of the reasons for the 2nd amendment. If the 2nd is removed, ALL of our rights are in jeopardy.
  14. This is a problem with the citizens not knowing their rights, not a problem with the police.
  15. This is very simple. Routine traffic stops catch wanted criminals. That's why they make them. If they didn't work, they wouldn't do it. If you don't believe it, ask the police or watch 'COPS' sometime. edit: Of course, they also make stops because you broke a traffic law. There is a period of time where detectives might be looking for someone - if they know who they are after, traffic stops are just one more way those people are caught. I have been stopped several times by the police and never once have they asked to search my car or my person. I have nothing to hide, but if they asked I would tell them to get a warrant. Guess what - you won't be stopped by the police if your obey the law. Whenever I have been stopped, it is because I was not obeying the law. I suppose in your world patrolman, whose duty it is to enforce traffic laws, should ignore speed, dangerous/reckless driving, people running lights, etc. edit again: I'm going to take a wild guess and say you've been stopped by the police and they found contraband on your person or in your car.
  16. That is the job of detectives, not patrolman. And many, many criminals are caught because of 'routine' traffic stops. How do you think Timothy McVeigh was ultimately discovered?
  17. And landmine the border. And park aircraft carriers around Mexico and bomb the fuck out of Mexico City everytime one of their citizens escapes to here and hurts one of our citizens. I hate these illegals and I hate even more that our pussy politicians are caving into them.
  18. I can recall hearing guys just ripping on their bikes until around 11 or 12pm (at least) last year. The sportbikes were cool, but the harley's with their loud-ass pipes I could live without. Then there was the girl that got undressed in the tent with the light shining behind her. Nice shadow show!
  19. I wasn't aware that you could control the bike with 'respect'. None of the bikes I have ever had respond to respect. If I did something, they reacted, whether I did it intentionally or accidentally. What I'm getting at, is, as a new rider, you will do a lot of things accidentally or because you don't know better. A less powerful bike is less likely to make you pay for those mistakes.
  20. That's recommended break-in, but not required. I would run my bike harder than that - up to 6-7000rpms or more for a short periods. The big thing is to vary the RPMs. 500 miles will go by fast. Have fun and wear your gear.
  21. How is someone with no street-riding experience going to be a 'good' rider? Unless he becomes a track junkie and starts racing, it will take him years to exceed the capabilities of any 600 made in the last 5 years, if he can ever exceed them. Not only that, but it sucks to drop your new bike, which you will almost certainly do with your first bike. Been there, didn't get no stinkin' t-shirt. For your first bike, you want something cheapm, light and not powerful. 100HP doesn't sound like a lot, but it's good for 10second quartermiles with the right rider on on a CBR600RR.
  22. Charles in a bra = hawtness! I actually bought that....Had nothing to do with the hunt.... I'm sure Steph will really like it, but you probably better hide it, otherwise you'll never get to wear it! It was funny how most of the teams took off - a bunch of the items on the list were right at the picnic area.
  23. That's what they claim - there is a 'family' area near the back or front, but it's all one open campground and people are up to all hours drinking and revving engines - there really is no family area.
