  1. you can set the timing by unpluging the timing connector and setting it to what the lable under the hood tells you. just like any other SBC. you can use a scan tool if you need to.

you need a special tool to release all the pressure so you can take the bolt and T nut out.

explanes why i had to fix it:p
  9. doesn't always have to do it. with out the drive shaft in you can't be for sure on the transmission.

295's on the street. 315/18's all the way around on the the track you should be able to find jeff around my car some at the track since eric wants to log some data during runs.
  11. more than likely this is not transmission related. AWD transfercases are different than 4WD transfercases. they MUST have both drive shafts in or they will roll since the rear drive shaft isn't locked to the transmission like a normal 4WD. when they are in park the transmission parking paw is locked and if you have it racked up you can turn both drive shafts and wheels freely. if you notice if you get the chance to do it then the front and rear wheels turn opposit of each other. thats how it keeps from rolling.
  12. SM2 is now SSM and thats the class my car runs. there isn't many people in that class so i'll be running EM around here and SSM anywhere else i go.
  13. locker won't hurt you, the shocks will help if they are not drag set up kind. springs should help too if they lower it.
  14. you crazy kids and your drag racing set-ups. before too long you'll want to change it all so it handles. http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-30795607742246_2041_3327604
  15. yeah kinda. runs the same but there is no racing like the fun event. more to knock the rust off and pick up some seat time.
  16. brian, SM has STi's in it so your up against them and they have 2 more wheels of power. jones, the rear bar changes your class. doesn't matter since your new just as long as you have fun. MrAutoX (Ben) can help you out with questions you have at the track and i can help as much as i can too.
  17. for me? yeah since i have done so many. for you? maybe, don't know your skill level mechanical wise. they come apart easy but have to go together only one way.

wow this went off topic quick. i'm sorry to hear that. however i do think you should get all those cars out to the track this year, that would be a fun time. jeff, i did notice one problem with my car. it seems the cold and the rubber on the tires do not agree with each other. this will require more testing on my part to narrow the problem down;)
  19. 3-4 clutch pack like to burn up. the sun shell brakes and you have no reverse. those are both common problems to the 4L60E not just the C/K trucks.

like both jeff and eric said the clutch does not slip (yet, after i get to beat on it this summer it might lol) and i am 110% happy with the work they did for me and would recomend them for anything. they are going to get more of my business for this car, my TBSS and the girfriends CTS-V. Eric did go over everything with me, what i think the smell was from was the engine. i rebuilt it, put oil in it and started it and drove it right to IPS to have it tuned so it had all of 20-30 miles on it by the time they got it so nothing really had time to burn off. i did have a coolant leak issue and didn't clean it off before i took it over to them. there is no smell now and it has been put through its paces.
  21. Lowe's has a good amount of stainless stuff. home depot has next to nothing.

thats kinda odd since there were no signs of slip when i had it apart and it doesn't feel like its slipping on the street. and the C6Z is rated at 470 ft. lbs. of torque. i guess if you factor a 20% driveline loss then that puts me over 470 crank. looks like i may have to save some moneys up and get another clutch:( brandon what is there in line with a stock LS2 flywheel? i deffently don't want one of those junk centerforce clutches, i hate the way anthony and garetts feel.
  23. no, i deduced that from the verbage in the orginal post. in conclusion i would like to state that i am going to drive my fun car to work tomorrow, its up to you to figure out what one that is since both of them are fun:p
