  1. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/19/reasons-love-costco_n_4275774.html If you can ignore the source of the article there are some interesting facts about costco. They basically do everything the opposite of Wal-Mart. I'm a firm believer in supporting businesses with my patronage whenever possible (hence why i refuse to shop at walmart). If you treat your employee's well you will attract good / knowledgeable employee's and I'd rather shop at a store that treats their people right b/c I know, as the consumer, that better customer service is the result. I'm sure there are exceptions to that rule but that's my theory. That being said my gf and I shop at costco whenever possible. However it is more convenient for me, living in grandview, to shop at Kroger regularly.
  2. HA if he wasn't 3 times my size maybe. We have gotten into it a few times and I just love pushing his buttons about being a responsible adult. fucking loser. If your insurance carrier is hesistant to give up that kind of information then why not ask the hospital? i guess they might not be as cooperative if they know they wont be getting paid as much.
  3. Converse to that post, I have a loser brother who's on medicare/cade along with his live-in girlfriend her three kids and one of his own litter. Every minuscule healthcare problem they have they go to the ER. THE FUCKING ER! kid has an earache? ER. Tummy upset? ER. Kid having a temper-tantrum and can't control her? ER. Its fucking unbelievable the waste that goes on in that family. While normal people are cognizant of what costs are and trying to conserve he doesn't give a shit b/c after all its not his money anyway so what does he care?
  4. THIS. I feel like the market isn't coming around to satisfy the needs of the consumer enough. Maybe it's because everything is so regulated because its healthcare afterall? I don't know. Any other market this happens and the consumer wins in the end but not healthcare. Perfect example, I've started going to the OSU walk-in clinic in Giant Eagle. I had a stigma about going to see a nurse practitioner in a grocery store but when the bill is a FRACTION of what it would be if I went to my real doctor (who coincidentally NEVER has any convenient openings anyway) I got over that shit real quick. I will say I have gotten great care, the nurse even walked out to the pharmacy with me to pick out an OTC medicine that would help the best. That's customer service. I've never had to deal with high priced MRI's or any serious medical cases thankfully and I can only imagine what the OP is going through not only worrying about his baby's condition and getting the best care possible but with the burden of the financial aspect of it as well.
  5. THIS. I have emailed this guy back and forth, last we left off (which was 3 weeks ago) he said, "I'll see what I can do". Low and behold Nationwide Ins. deducts the same amount from my bank account on the 14th to pay my bill. Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated. I'm going to shop around a bit and try and find an auto/renters insurance policy with someone else. Never had an at-fault accident and haven't had a speeding ticket in over 8 years so I don't think it'll be too difficult.
  6. I've had Nationwide Ins. since I started driving, long story short I signed a new policy a few months ago and have since seen a HUGE (50$ month) discrepency in the price they quoted my policy to be and what I'm actually paying. Are auto insurance policy's binding agreements or can I just cancel and go to a different company? Obviously I'm not getting a straight answer out of my Nationwide Rep (who's worthless) and I've never needed to change carriers before so I'm not sure how this process goes. Thanks for any guidance or advice. Figured someone on CR would have some insight on this.
  7. Personally... I absolutely fucking agree.
  8. So my girlfriends mom is a wino, loves the stuff. This woman is seriously one of the nicest people I have ever met and always buys me little gifts. Last year she bought me a Christmas gift after her daughter and i had been dating for a month last year (yeah i felt like an ass and totally unprepared for the occasion). I think she drinks white wine, not sure exactly what kind of white wine she prefers but what are some good labels? Looking to spend $50 or so? If that is a good price? I have always heard you can get a good wine for 10-15$ but I'm obviously willing to spend a bit more for something good.
  9. Ha i think i remember this being for sale on here a while back. I personally love the feel of this gun, have been really close to purchasing it in the past and just never... pulled the trigger! #groan Seriously though, great firearm someone should scoop this up. If I was in the market for a new handgun i would.
  10. Side note: If you're getting tested for sleep apnea chances are you're symptomatic already... hence why alot of people "test positive". Sleep apnea is a very real condition but its an avoidable / treatable one as Benjamin mentioned.
  11. Personally I don't like to quantify my political beliefs with an R or a D, HOWEVER I would say that i lean SLIGHTLY to the right on most issues. That being said, I am still in disbelief that Trump has garnered the type of following he has. Let's be honest, he's a bigot, he's threatened by strong women (and no I'm not talking about Hilary), he's all flash and no substance and I feel like there's a certain niche of America that fucking loves the guy for some reason. He is a reality TV celebrity (among other things) running for president, wtf did people expect? I have a friend who has NEVER been politcal but now all he does is repost Trump shit on facebook. Now, I like this friend but if I'm being honest he's not the brightest guy in the world. For some reason he see's Trump as some sort of grand redemption for America, that he's suppose to "make us great again"... whatever the fuck that's suppose to mean. And I shit-you-not I heard a Trump supporter actually say, "I'll vote for Trump b/c he's already rich and you know he wont be tempted to take bribes or be bought off..." where the fuck is that big-eyed emoji when you need it. "Trump as a candidate is like the comments section of YouTube running for president."
  12. HAHAHAHAHA , i cant believe no one else makes them this way. Yes its fat but if you're going through the trouble of making a grilled cheese i doubt you're trying to eat healthy.
  13. You guys use butter for your grilled cheese? I've always used Mayo, easier to spread but the key is just a small amount and even distribution, don't overdo it. Two slices of cheese, bingo bango.
  14. I'm not advocating vigilantism, or even the "ramdo attitude" that some CCW license holders possess. You've clearly missed the entire point of my comment. I'm saying you're making broad, sweeping indictments that NO mass killings have been prevented by law abiding citizens with their privately owned firearms and this is simply wrong. Its hard enough to speak in absolutes but when you do so about something you have no data to backup you just look like an ass. Stories with good, positive endings are not newsworthy. They will not gain headlines and will not get 'clicks' on websites. Tragedy, death, and anything that touches the public nerve of a popular debate get traction.
  15. Oh I absolutely agree, you have to consider your source on any information about gun violence (with anything really). Unfortunately I doubt you'll see the AP do a cover piece on the advantages to citizens carrying firearms in public.
  16. How would you know? "good guy stops bad guy from killing people with legally obtained firearm" wont sell papers and it wont make headlines. What does make headlines, "14 dead, 17 injured in workplace firearm violence that no one could stop". I recently read an article titled "12 times mass killings were prevented in the last year", I really wanted to link it here but I can't find the exact article. My point is that these things happen often but they're not newsworthy.
  17. but.... its better to be first than correct... right?
  18. I just received an email today saying my target delivery date of Dec 3 will not be accurate but it didnt give me a new target date. Thankfully i didnt buy a high dollar item like a TV but I'm still ok waiting a few more days. As long as its here before December 24th.
  19. Besides Amazon, what online retailers are you guys using? This will be the second year I plan on doing all of my xmas shopping online and avoiding stores all together. I usually use Amazon, Homage, Backcountry, etc... but looking for other, reputable companies to shop with.
  20. I'll see it. A little shakey on the premise and who Mr. Metal Hands is but its looks interesting. Also never saw the last Captain America and I heard that was pretty good.
  21. I'm with you, have no idea who the guy is and/or why everyone hates him or what has happened. I get the distinct feeling he enjoys the attention though? Regardless, As much fun as it would be to take a multi-week trip across the country and live out of a backpack I think i would miss home and miss my friends, family, the significant people in my life eventually if I lived that vagabond lifestyle permanently. While I may not be where I want to be I still feel happy and fulfilled. Running away wouldn't necessarily change that for the better or the worse. Now if I had the ability and means to purchase some land in Colorado or even just rural mid-west I might be interested in doing so. Someone posted a link to a tiny home, i think those are so cool. Buy a small plot of land, put a tiny home on it, have a rural cabin/destination for yourself.
  22. If we're talking about breakfast / brunch spots this place is GREAT ... http://www.breakfastwithnick.com/2015/10/29/cray-eatery-drinkery-columbus/ ate here a few weeks ago and everything was great, bloody marys were tasty too.
  23. The Bartender mentioned they had other stores in major cities like NY. I really like the atmosphere, seemed like a cool place to hang out and grab a beer. I thought it was more of a "5 guys" type of burger place but it was more of a "I grew the Kale on your burger in my home garden" kinda place. Had a wide variety of foods, toppings, and stuff some would consider gourmet.
  24. I was just thinking, "why does their promo video only show guys with flat stomachs? average guy with a beer gut probably wouldn't work out as well.
  25. Interesting, I like that the only object showing almost looks like a cell phone holder on your belt. Not sure how i would feel with a "deep carry" like that but regardless of what kind of holster you choose practice makes perfect. 65$ seems steep for some stitched leather, I was thinking the price would be closer to 30-40$
