Exactly what i was going to say. Wrenching is fun until it gets in the way of having quality, reliable transportation every day.

That's so fucking true. Same here, dated a Tinder girl for a few months had a lot of chemistry but knew it wouldn't work out, age difference was too great. Because of my schedule i ended up dating a lot of nurses. If they weren't crazy they were probably MILFS, if they weren't MILFS they were fucking nuts. I'm sure there are exceptions to every rule but this was my experience.

hahahaha, I hooked up with this MILF stripper years ago who had a small baby. Went out for drinks while her sister watched the kid, get back to her place, bang it out on her tiny fucking bed. So I'm laying there half drunk half passed out when she gets up to check on the kid. She gets back in bed so i turn to my right and there's a small child's face just staring back of me. SHE BROUGHT THE KID INTO BED WITH HER! she's laying next to me holding her baby. All i could think was "thank god you're not going to remember this moment kid b/c you're never going to see me again."

Side note: i had a professor years ago, younger guy, super cool about a lot of shit. We were talking between classes one day and I mentioned I had just broken up with my longtime GF and all the baggage that goes along with that. He looks at me and says, "You ever have a buddy of yours buy a new golf club, a driver, putter whatever, use it and say 'holy shit man you gotta get this driver its fucking awesome you'll love it'... you ever hear your married friends say that about being married? 'holy shit man being married is fucking great you gotta get married someday'." Then he went on to say that he likes his wife, even loves her sometimes but being married is just "ok". Needless to say I wasn't too bummed about being single after that conversation lol.

I use to use Tinder, i met one girl that was semi-legit and we dated for a bit. Whenever people asked us how we met I would just say "we met in church". Her friend actually believed me and asked her "i didn't know you went to church" ... That being said, met another girl, who likes to choke people while fucking... yeah. talked to plenty of hoes who were just shameless.

hahaha "HANDS UP DON'T SHOOT!"

Just a heads up, even if its a 1G 7 bolt engine (probably 1993-1994) they are still a lot less prone to crankwalk compared to the 2g (1995+) 7 bolt engines. But you said it was a 92 so its a 6 bolt anyway.

Abso-fucking-lutly true. I'm 32, my current GF (who I'll probably marry if I'm being honest) is 27, once you hit 30 as a man the dating pool is a fraction of what it was when you were 25. I have a good friend who is 27 now and he's just going through women like they're disposable (we've all been there so whatever) but I keep telling him he's going to regret it when he hits 30-33 years old and there's literally no one worth dating left. Tinder = the Clearance section of the dating world.

"askhole" = someone who constantly asks for advice, ignores said advice and does what they were going to do in the first place making the whole situation a waste of time.

I just had a meeting with a financial adviser friend to rearrange my 401k to be more aggressive... well that might backfire this year. Assuming this really affects you guys who day trade. For those of you who do, do you constantly keep up with it? is it something that you have to be looking at your phone every hour? I've considered it but only as a hobby not necessarily to bet my retirement on.

Last time my agent emailed me he said "I'll see what I can do" when I told him there was no way someone with my driving history should be paying this much for insurance..... That was two billing cycles ago. Fuck that guy. I have a coworker to just switched from Nationwide to Erie Insurance and he's been really happy with them. So I'm going to give his agent a call and get a quote. I'll try out esurance and Westfield as well. But I am a bit skeptical to go with a smaller company and how fast they are with their claim process etc...

So now the rumor is that the militia should sell the dildo's on ebay to create some revenue for their cause.... lets let that sink in for a minute. An anti-gov't militia selling dildos on ebay to make money for their cause....

Good for you for taking action and making a change. Maybe you'll find that in a few months of just talking about cars you'll want to get your hands dirty again and work on your own. Either way it can open up more doors to you in the future. Just curious, you mentioned working hard on all of your Certs, do those Certs ever expire for any reason? If not I'm sure you can always use them to fall back on.

I'm no expert by any means but one thing to keep in mind is that these are LONG term investments that will experience some volatility over time. The advice I was always given was to ride it out. From your original post It sounds like you might want to change your investment occasionally throughout the year to avoid any losses but that would be contrary to most advice a professional will give you. Also, max out your 401k contribution, especially if your employer will match. I never understood people who didn't do this, you're literally leaving FREE money on the table. If you're living with your parents or don't have any dependents contribute as much as you can afford. That's one thing I wish I would've done sooner. Someone correct me if i'm wrong but I thought you couldn't contribute to a 401k until age 21?

Ha I should be flattered someone actually assume's I'm "too young" to remember something. I see your point that an occupation can be just as detrimental as an act of violence. As for where I'm seeing the terrorist narrative it's mostly from far left leaning folks who read half an article on huff post and runs with it. I get the feeling that most people, even hard right leaning folks, don't approve of this at all.

Great responses so far but no one has attempted to answer this... what's the end game? What exactly are they trying to accomplish? The "militia" (for lack of a better term) has said repeatedly they are there to stay and are prepared to stay long term. great. who really cares? I really hope you're right. But the government doesn't like to be told what to do or coerced in any way.
-
Also, the whole narrative that these militia men are "terrorists".... really? Terrorists don't occupy buildings, they blow them up. In order for a terrorist to exist someone must be terrorized.... Geese and coyotes in the middle of Oregon don't count.

Unfortunately this topic has come up repeatedly for the past few days. Personally I prefer not to make any judgement calls until most of the facts have been revealed. So 12-15 self-proclaimed militia men have taken over what amounts to a camping ground in the middle of no where and had they not contacted the press to tell them about it no one would have even known about it. They did all of this to protest the arrest of two ranchers for trying to burn their land (a common practice used by farmers but no mention if the ranchers were farmers or not) during a 'burn ban', a ban enacted due to the increase of wildfire activity in the last few months. And finally I have yet to hear any demands, goals, or even an end-game in which the militia has announced their objective to be. So.... what do they want? just to be on camera? Now I'm not taking sides in this debate, if we can even call it that now, but this all seems a bit .... stupid. I understand they took over the structure because its considered a federal building. And I understand they're protesting the arrest and subsequent arson conviction of the two ranchers. And I also understand they are protesting what they consider an over-reach of federal authority, but whats the objective? Can anyone fill in the blanks here?

Ah that makes a lot more sense. And to a degree I agree with you.

Sorry to hear about it, my gf's dog is 8 and while she just had a tumor removed successfully (the dog not my gf) it kind of made us think of the inevitable. Just curious, why in home euthanization? Do you think its a comfort factor for the dog?
-
Sorry to hear about your dead-end but at least you're reacting in a constructive way. I think it's funny, as i read this thread im in a similar situation at work just the opposite. I'm in an operations/ "back end" of the business and want to make the jump to a Sales/ "front end" of the business but am lacking the opportunity as of yet. Goodluck to you.

If you don't mind me asking, whats wrong with the dryer? I had a 300$ set of whirlpools, heating element went out on the dryer, it was like a $7 part if I remember and took maybe an hour to fix. Of course when wifey says she wants something new she prob wont want to fix whats old.

What's wrong with someone going to work for a competitor if said competitor is offering better pay, better working conditions and more students? That's not 'stooping low' that's just common business sense. If the original employer would treat his employee's better they wouldn't be in the position of having their teacher's being poached.

THIS, this is your sales pitch. That being said I wouldn't just message them and offer them a job. Ask them to meet for a cup of coffee or lunch even. Warm up with regular conversation, you're obviously in the same industry ask how they're doing then make your sales pitch. Most people (like your initial target) will be flattered. Your biggest sales points are better pay, better teaching environment, more students, and more room to grow. Personally to me it sounds like a no-brainer. I understand your reservation's about paid-training but some good points were made. Bucking the trend of an "unpaid internship" and turning it into paid training will attract better personnel. As for the first guy you were going after, I would just communicate that its an open invitation until the position is filled but constantly badgering him might put him off.

I don't know you so I was going to post some half-assed response of not being a pussy and picking up some hobbies but I think its painfully obvious you are either seriously, medically depressed or just attention starved. I'm leaning towards the former not the latter. While these are all great suggestions (exercising, better diet, reading, getting into another hobby, and NO FUCKING ALCOHOL) it sounds like you need to see a professional pronto. That being said, you should stop drinking, get out and do something, ANYTHING. Of course I always suggest picking up the game of hockey because its something I love doing but shit think of something you loved doing as a kid and go out and do it. That's what I did and it's honestly made my life so much better for it. Oh and if you do exercise, take it easy. You don't have to run a marathon or throw up 300lbs on a bench your first week, you'll only hurt your back and be more depressed for it. Go slow, starting itself is an accomplishment.
