There's generally a good mix of bikes out at the QuakerSteak bike night. JackAss Flats is mostly a HD type crowd. There are a few SBs that go out there but not many from what I hear. I'll prolly go next week too. If we get a bunch of people going we could always meet somewhere and ride in as a group if anyone wants. I have a friend that rides a Star cruiser and he is always trying to get me to go out to Jackass but not much into the whole Harley thing. Nothing against Harley riders, just not my style. Been to bike week in Daytona when I was stationed in Cocoa Beach FL. and that will last me a lifetime. I would like to go to watch the Daytona 200. BTW. I checked out your myspace and relaized that I used to work with your wife before I retired. I was a 4T0 Lab rat in the AF for 22 years, 6 months, 5 days, and about 3 hours. Tell her Phil Scheel said hi. Cool I'll pass on the hello. I worked over in radiology up until Nov 11, 1996. Got out and went into the IT field.

You cant even get away from technology when youre taking a shit! He thought he was doing some remapping with his bike. Hard to tell the difference between a Kawi and a toilet sometimes.

I'll probably head down. I might get there a bit before 8 though. The more we can start getting out there the better.

Those are out in the British Columbia area. He's from Canada. He's always riding around Cali, WA, Oregon and Canada area. So where exactly? I don't know, but I do know it's in the Pacific Northwest. I would love to be able to ride Cali roads and the Pacific North West roads. Some of the best riding roads made. Yeah it's about perfect up there. Most of my family is from up there; Oregon, Washington and Idaho. I was out there last September for my brothers wedding. I rode his R6 and he borrowed his buddy's Repsol replica 1000RR and headed up into the mountains. One of the most beautiful rides I've ever taken. I actually used it in my best man speech. Funny enough I felt more confident on those roads on his bike and leaned way further than I've had the chance to on my RR. Maybe it was the turns are so tight it's just so easy to lean with some speed. So far I haven't gotten my RR as far over, but then again it's seen more 675 miles than anything. Yeah that's right...mmmm tasty chicken strips on the RR.

Ah that's cool people are still moved by this. Carl Sagan's stuff is pretty damn cool. It's been a long time since I've read anything of his. Almost makes me want to get another copy of this book and read it.

Not surprising. Had something similar happen to me when someone shut off a large Liebert (located just outside of the server room) sometime back over a weekend. We had alerts set though. Once it hit I think around 78 we had texts and emails sent.

I'm up for rolling out to Jackass Flats some Wednesday. Not many sportbikes out there from what I hear should be fun though. I think the road the leads to it is gravel unless they have finally paved it. I know early last year my wife's boss lost it leaving there. I asked some Harley guys I know about it last year and the first comment out of their mouths was it took too long to get a beer on busy nights if that tells you anything.
