  1. Reading comprehension is key my dear newbie. I highly doubt you are a Security Professional for a Foreign Consulate. Their permit costs 300$ For a CCW license it is $75 for the license and $42 for the fingerprint processing, totalling 117$. See page 3 of the permit application. Also, you might want to give up arguing with me over gun stuff.
  2. It's $125 or so and valid for like 7 years.
  3. Yea, turns out that if you stare in your mirrors for too long, the road may up and turn left on you
  4. Far, far into Occupied Canada. Otherwise known as that Unnamed State Up North. It's a shame that such a cool place is up there. We had a blast riding there last summer. Took quads, buggies and a dirtbike.
  5. An STT coach whose sexuality is even more in question than Lizard's!
  6. Don't toy with me like that. While its not Mid Ohio, I do love the Beave and its about the same distance from my house. Not to mention the Yuenling.
  7. So with BeaveRun being in the financial shape its in, no chances of more dates there next year then right?
  8. For the record, I don't actually think its Brian's fault, but its too much fun not to blame him.
  9. Great idea. Think about it, Brian starts directing STT events at Mid Ohio, and suddenly it all goes to hell in a handbasket.
  10. I doubt Monte would do that, mid o is one of the best tracks in the country and he had an exclusive deal. I don't see how one decides to go from being a crack dealer with exclusive territory to handing the crack off to someone else. Can we just blame Brian?
  11. My guess is something happened to force the issue. Then again, maybe they just sprung it out there in hopes that people would keep coming vs having all winter to speculate if the new folks running it would suck?
  12. Instructors from somewhere, but they don't kmow where.
  13. Just got off the phone with Mid Ohio and asked about who will be the replacement coaches/event coordinators. The lady on the phone could not give me an answer about the coaches but assured me that the format was going to be the same and not to worry. I flat out told her its the on track staff that makes or breakrs an event and that I'm hesitant to signup for an unknown. Especially an unknown that could be a giant clusterfuck. I suggested she relay that to her management, she took my number to call with more info if they give it out.
  14. This sucks, kinda puts a damper on my track riding season.
  15. Two things 1) Never set the standard by LEOs. Even my cop buddies will agree to that. 2) You are referring to NEGLIGENT discharges. What I said earlier in the thread still stands, keep the weapon holstered with the trigger guard covered and when not holstered, keep your finger off the freakin trigger. I guarantee that of all those reports of ND's by LEO's that you mention, 98% are covered by breaking the finger off the trigger rule. If you can't follow that one simple safety rule, then yes, there is a pretty good likilhood of having an ND. However, carrying unchambered is not the fix, following the rule is. If you can't follow the rule, don't carry.
  16. Thats because that was the way that God and John Moses Browning intended.
  17. Not going to fire, but prepared and justified with intent to fire. That does not always mean you will fire.
  18. Apples/oranges. If you keep the gun in a holster that covers the trigger guard, and when its not in a holster, keep your bugger hook off the bang button, then your chances of a negligent discharge are slim to none.
  19. Mike, if your instructor suggested that about SA revolvers, I have no beef. However, if that was to refer to a 1911 pistol, CZ75 or HK that can all be carried cocked and locked, then the guy is a tool and you need to not be listening to him.
  20. My opinion is that this thread is good of full advice and a lot of BS reasons not to follow it. FYI, pocket holsters are for 2 things, breaking up the outline of the gun to make it more concealable and MOST IMPORTANTLY, to protect the trigger. Small DAO pistols and revolvers are primarily the ones carried in a pocket, and on those guns, if you pull the trigger they go bang. Pocket holsters keep items out of the trigger guard that might make it go bang and cause you great pain.
  21. For a guy thats worried about accidently shooting himself, you sure like to figure fuck the weapon. Seriously dude, WTF? you are worried about a loaded weapon, so you want to pull it out and manipulate it several times a day?
  22. If you are that worried about shooting yourself, please forgo carrying and leave it for the big boys. An unloaded gun is a paperweight. For what its worth, when I carry my 1911 its cocked and locked (condition 1) which seems to REALLY bother the newbies.
  23. NEVER pocket carry without something covering the trigger guard. They make pocket holsters.
