  1. +1 For the love of God, figure something out!
  2. If you go there, stop in on a weekend and ask for Joe to see if he can help you get experience. Late 40's, glasses, skinny. Not spoke to him in a year or two, but he was part time there on weekends and he's a good guy.
  3. I'm gonna do it, I'm just gonna do it

  4. Since 05. Been following the development of the ccw laws since 02-03 or so, same time I was studying criminology at OSU, so it came up a lot.
  5. Former military? Otherwise no class is not exactly legal.
  6. 250's are fine starter bikes for anyone, male or female.
  7. For what its worth, Jason didn't push Ohlins or any expensive stuff on to me and flat out told me unless I was a front of the pack wera guy, that it wasn't needed.
  8. They are adjustable, but you have to have the right spring to be in the ballpark for the other adjustments to come into play.
  9. Track day from 8-3, then 3 hour endurance race + mini endurance.
  10. Damn. Wish I had seen this sooner. I'd like to try to new R1 and the FJR (I see a sport tourer in my future).
  11. Isaac's Papa also gave me a stern talking to about showing up with dirty rims. In his defense, they were so dirty the damned thing didn't want to balance!
  12. Pot: Hello Kettle Kettle: Hello Pot Pot: My, you sure are looking black today.
  13. indeed. Also, wolff extra power (+10%) springs are the way to go if you ever replace.
  14. Common myth. Ask any mechanical engineer. You can confirm yourself by bending a hanger. Notice that if you bend it opposite directions enough it will break? but if you bend it once, it will stay in place without problems. Works the same with spring steel, albeit its made to survive multiple compressions. Mags are typically the single most common point of failure in a semi-auto handgun. If you use them a lot, it makes sense to replace the springs every few years. By a lot, I mean thousands of rounds a year.
  15. FYI this is completely FALSE. Springs wear by compressing and uncompressing. They do not wear by being kept in a compressed state. You can keep mags loaded for years and not affect the reliability in any way, shape or form.
  16. <instructor mode> Always follow the law, be prepared to have to educate LE on what the law is. They don't always know everything about every law, its a tough job, but I highly recommend knowing the statutes and carrying the AG book in your vehicle. When in doubt, politely inform them what the law is, and request that they call their shift supervisor. </instructor mode> That said, most cops won't hassle you about guns.
  17. gee thanks, asshole. Like I said in another post, my schedule this summer sucks, so definitely go with Trigger time. Dan is good people and Joe is an excellent instructor. I may even come in and help teach the class depending on when you guys do it.
  18. Store ammo separately and NO LOADED MAGS. The current law says loaded mag= loaded gun. FWIW, the sherriff may or may not tell you correct information, LE isn't known for always knowing the law. ironic I know.
  19. IF you have a DD214 that lists firearms training within the past 6 years, you do not have to take the course.
  20. I vote for this course. I have nothing scheduled anytime soon and I probably won't till sometime in August. I know the guy who runs triggertime and his main instructor. I've taught with the instructor before and I highly recommend him.
  21. Shuai Chiao and Hsing I here, but stay far away from any shuai chiao school in Columbus.
  22. Mike, will a laptop fit in that securely? I need a tankbag for back and forth to work.
