The customer was recommended to this tuning shop by the shop that did his heads and cam install. They did 3 pulls on the car in 20 minutes and charged him $500.00 for the tune. The tuner told him he could tune the car for max power but it would blow up if he did that. I guess that is a good power curve and a safe a/f. This car had no drivability when it came to me. It would not start and idle on its own. The car would not take gas at low rpm. You can see that in the graph in red. Yet this car was tuned in 3 pulls for $500.00. The car now starts and idles like a champ, crisp throttle response, and a much smoother power curve given the size of the cam. It took the competitor 20 minutes to do their tune. It took me closer to 3 hours to do my tune. A lot of time involved going back and fixing things that did not need to be changed in the first place. Everything worked out in the end. The customer is happy and I am sure he will be telling his friends.

  4. Alex, Start with tune zero on the chip. If it is too rich (A/F below 11.0) Then try position one on the switch. Each tune gets 10% leaner. The purpose of the tunes are to get you to up here to Columbus. Adaptive Learning is turned on in the chip. Therefore the ecm should correct some as need be during closed loop. As long as fuel pressure is at 40 psi and the maf is calibrated for 60's. One of the 4 tunes should get you to Ohio just fine. Also remember commanded A/F is 11.0 under boost. I think you will be just fine. Use the tune that keeps your A/F between 11.0 and 11.5 under boost and everything should stay together.

  11. You are going to want to limit yourself to about 450 rwhp. The rods start coming out of these motors at 500 rwhp. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you have any other questions.

  15. Guys and Gals. I am interested in bringing the bike dyno out to the OR bike night on thrusday nights. I am wondering if it would be feasible to try and locate a couple of sponsors to either help cover the cost or make it free to those individuals attending the bike night. I can easily do 6 bikes an hour. I am thinking something along the lines of a 3-4 hour window. Please share your thoughts and ideas with me. If you are wondering what it is going to take to bring the bike dyno out, shoot me a PM and I will discuss.
  16. You might consider going with either some type of bullet or straight through muffler. Corkmasters rob significant power on a turbo car. I guess we can see what the power difference is between the cut out open and closed and go from there.
