  1. After spending the last couple days of getting the unicorn ready for the kilkare the 99,139 mile stock short block decided to check out. Funnything is it broke in 2nd gear doing a roll on and not in 4th gear where it is under the most load. My guess is the harmonic balancer that failed this past weekend and the new mickey thompson drag radials which allowed the car to hook in 2nd gear was enough to do the old girl in. At this point I am not sure if the crank broke first taking out the block or if the block split taking out the crank. I had Potent N2O with me from the board and as we are looking at the car he says I know that sick feeling you are having inside. To be honest I was a more dissapointed that I was not going to the track with it thrusday and the fact that I split the block because of wanting more power. Well as luck would have it I found a motor that fits what I am looking for. The motor is complete sitting on an engine stand from intake to oil pan and should be good for more power then I will ever want to throw at it. I am going to look at it tomorrow and I am 99.9% sure I will be going with it. The specs. 331 Cubic Inches Dart Block Scat 4340 Crankshaft Crowler Rods Diamond Pistons Edelbrock Victor Jr Heads with CNC Porting Edelbrock Victor Carb Intake with Injector Bosses. Custom Turbo Grind Cam (Possibly with Cam Roller Bearings) ATI Balancer. ETC. This motor is complete and is ready to drop in the car. What I am trying to decide on now is stick with the same turbo kit and limit myself to 700 rwhp or step it up and build a new turbo kit for the car. If I do this I will be building it for 1000 rwhp and nothing less. Regardless of what what I do the car is going to get a fuel system upgrade for E85. On one hand I am dissapointed that the unicorn finally decided to let go. On the other hand I am more then pleased how long it lived at 500 plus rwhp. I knew I was taking a chance at 600 plus rwhp and now I am ready for more power. Between my fathers Single Turbo T88 331 and my Twin Turbo 331 we should have some pretty nasty stangs to have at the track this fall.

Bolt some slicks on it with spray and the T56 and race my 88
  3. Having the funds to build a car is one thing. Having enough money to maintain the car when shit breaks or to try different combos is another. I know of a couple mustang racers that spend more money trying out different torque converters then most of us are willing to spend on a car. Best of luck in your venture. Having deep pockets is not the only thing that makes a car fast. However it sure does help along the way. IMO. It takes a car capable of running ET's somewhere in the 8's to be able hustle time and time again on the streets and grudge. That does not mean it needs to run 8 second et's everytime. It is nice to have it on reserve if need be.
  4. Anxious to here the results at the track.
  5. All I need to do is get a radiator in the TTGT. I should be out tonight as well.
  6. Calling for a high of 79 degrees. I realize this could change several times before then. I plan on having a new set of tires on the car and race gas for some added insurance. I will be leaving the tune up in the car on kill. If anyone wants to join me I will be leaving my shop between 3:30 and 4:00.
  7. Back in 2006 and 2007 you could not get me off the damn thing. Hell I remember riding home from the dyno one night freezing my ass off. The temps were done in the 20's. I think 2008 was about the last year I spent any decent amount of time riding. Based on the oil change log I have put less then 1,000 miles on it in the last three years. However the turbo mustang came out of the garage for the first time a month ago since 2004.
  8. Does it spike to 15 and then settle back to 11? The only thing I can think of is a temperature difference. My car looses 1-2 psi regardless of where the boost controller is set when it hot compared to cold.

  10. If I can leave sunday open I will. Saturday is loaded with 3-4 car tunes.
  11. I just realized I have been on my bike twice this year. I would like to put a few miles on it before the snow hits this year. Now that my work day is over I would like to go for about an hour ride to unwind. If anyone in Coumbus wants to ride during the week please give me a shout. I think I would ride more if I had some to ride with.
  12. rear wheel or front wheel? :fuckyeah:

  15. Agreed, Trust me there is one hell of a mark up. This is an example I use all the time of how much money products get marked up coming from China. Eden Pure GEN4 Heater. I have one of these that I bought new for $150.00 from a warehouse that stocks them up near Cleveland. Retail is just under $400.00. After talking to the warehouse manager I found out the cost to manufacture, package, put in a shipping container and stick it on the boat cost the US distributor $35.00 a unit. Talk about a mark up. Makes you wonder what it costs the manufacture to produce it and how much they make on it. One day the chinese will get tired of working for cheap and want to make wages like General Motors employees here in the states. Watch Walmart go out of business.
