  1. Yes I will sniff your package but only after I tap you.. Get it? My quick and dirty little kit I have for just that. Good for discretely taping a system and sending the info home. 2. I saw Mitnick last week out at RSA and got a free signed copy of his book. I hadnt seen him since everyone was drinking at the Markers Mark bar down at DerbyCon. Ahhh DerbyCon.. Good times...
  3. This is a story of another guy on another forum that makes really cool bottle openers out of 50 BMG cases. ---------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- I've been reloading for over 35 years and while I was not reloading my 50 BMG I was working on the case to make those Bottle Openers that I've sold 470 to members here and on other forums. Well it is official, I’m a dumb ass, a fat one too. Today it was raining and has been raining for several days so I didn’t go out to shoot the 50 BMG to empty the brass. So I decided to use my fancy bullet puller and pull the bullets on the rounds that I wanted to use to make bottle openers. The one thing I didn’t do was take the empty shell and load it in my rifle to make the primer safe. Well after making the two horizontal cuts I started on the vertical cut. Now I’ve done this at least 50 times without problem but this time I screwed up big time. The primer went of, flew out of the primer pocket and hit me about 3 inches above my belly button. It didn’t hurt hardly at all but sure rang my bell. I had safety glasses on so it saved my eye sight. After I figured that I was not hurt bad I got up and noticed that my bib overalls had a hole in them. I headed to the bedroom to double check and found that my shirt, underwear and bib overalls was drenched in blood. I was bleeding like a stuck pig. I grabbed a towel and applied pressure and hollered at my 10 year old son. When he saw the blood he started to freak out but I told him to cool it. I changed my clothes while he held pressure on the wound and we headed for the hospital. I called my 89 year old father on the way and he was waiting with his van to take Scotty and I the rest of the way. Once I got to the hospital the nurse checked me in and they called the sheriff and somehow let them know I had been shot with a 50 BMG rifle. The deputy that showed up couldn’t believe that I had driven myself or that I’d been shot with a 50 BMG. He has known me and my family for quite a while. Once they did the x-ray and CT scan they figured out that I had not mortally wounded myself. Thank goodness for fat. The primer went in above my belly button and traveled about 6 inches to my right and stopped about 3 inches under the skin. The doctor felt around and thought he had figured out how to get it out and made a cut over where the primer should be. After digging around for 20 or 30 minutes he kept having trouble with the primer moving out from between the forceps. He sewed me back up and told me to see the surgeon on Thursday. Man do I feel stupid. I know better than this and could have killed the primer with a drop of oil but I was in a hurry and it bit me. I guess it could have been worse, it could have lodged in my stomach or other important organ. The marks on my spine are from a spinal fusion I had about 4 years ago. I just want you all to know that the power of a #35 50 BMG primer is about as hot as a .22 short judging from the way it bored a hole in me.
  4. How often does your sump run? If its clogged or not pumping out right, it could flood your basement fairly quick. You already said you had not been down there in a few weeks. Could just be a shot sump pump as well. Running doesnt mean pumping.
  5. Yep we saw her. We were there sat morning between 9-11 and were at the stage during the female figure events.
  6. Looks like you should buy a rowboat. FYI, those submersible pumps are only about $115 at home depot and hook to a garden hose. I think anyone with a sump pump in their house should have one on hand in the event of an emergency like this or sump failure. Its a small price to pay not to have a flooded basement. Not to mention, having a battery backup sump pump installed above the primary in the event of primary failure or power outage.
  7. Buy empty brass. If you want the primer look and to leave it in. Do this Put a few drops of oil in down in the primer cup (From inside the brass) Or soak the entire empty case in oil. If you want to go one step further, you can use a pick after its been soaked in oil to scrape the inside of the oiled primer cup to help remove some of the primer material. <-- This is not professional, legal or foolproof advice but using oil is how most people do it. FYI, if you accidentally set off an primer from an empty case, the primer can shoot out of the back of the case and hurt or kill you. They have about the same power as a .22 round!!!
  8. Did she compete this year at the Arnold? If so, I think we saw the event she was in. Good for her. Tell her to she needs to put bigger pics on her FB page if she wants anyone to be able to see them. The ones on their now are way too small to see anything.
  9. We stopped and got pics of Eason. My girlfriend absolutely loves her and she is her role model for working out and competing.
  10. And you didnt take any of Jamie Eason!! WTF FML!! By far the nicest and best looking girl at the entire event.
  11. Just got back a few hours ago. Park wherever you can.
  12. Yeah Travis and I know each other as well.
  13. How much down and how much of a loan. We may be able to work something out between us. You try and screw me and well,... I'm sure you get it
  14. Come on travis, you know its a good ride.. Give me a a call anytime if you want to discuss.
  15. This may cause you issues if its your reason for not using a spacer for tight fit. You have to remember that the pressures inside the can are capable of reaching in excess of 50 KPSI and the heat will cause expansion of the baffles and tube at different rates. Those baffles if not welded or held in place via spacer WILL MOVE and you will get a baffle strike. Not to mention affect accuracy. You really should consider building a blast baffle and spacer
  16. Nah.. Its easy, You buy the can now which then gives you a minimum of 3 months before spending the 200 for the stamp. Then you have 4-6 months for the ATF approval before you can bring it home at which point she wont even know and its already been paid for for 6+ months. Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
  17. What caliber? That expansion chamber may have too much volume depending on cal which will increase the first round pop before the can fills with gas. I would create a heavier duty blast baffle as the first baffle in the stack and decrease the volume of the expansion/blast chamber. Youll also need something to keep the baffles centered/spaced in the tube correctly for the expansion/blast chamber. I would also jut put 2 holes in the faces of the endcaps (not all the way through) for the spanner and you can use 1 spanner wrench instead of 2. Not to mention you wont increase weight since you dont have to have as thick of an endcap to support the spanner holes on the sides. Nice SW modeling. Ive been too lazy to install it on my laptop and modeled my last one with a free version of Alibre
  18. You dont have to pay the 200 stamp until you submit your paperwork to the ATF. The suppressor will sit at the dealer until the paperwork is approved so if you wait an extra month or so to submit to ATF, that just means the can will stay at the dealer until the ATF approval comes back. I had a friend that let his cans sit at the dealer for 3+ months before submitting his paper work
  19. You got it. Ive built a Form 1 myself for the exact same reason. Wanted to see if I could do it. Ive still got some bar stock around if your interested and depending on caliber. I can probably also provide some input and you can get allot over on silencertalk in the smithing section. Just make sure you have the paperwork back before starting on the tube, baffels/core, or caps. (So basically any of the can )
  20. You still have time.. There are 4 left!
