  1. I would disagree. Alot of stock headers have a catalytic convertor in them. Removing this will cut down on weight and also improve power. Prime example is the new gixxer and the R6's.

    you would disagree...and you'd be wrong. :D

On my R1 the cat converter is not included with the headers; it's a totally different piece. when i did the exhaust on it, I bought two slip ons and a cat replacement...which is a straight Y pipe for the R1. Slow R6's might have the cat inside the headers...you'd be the expert on that :)

  2. One of my buddies and I were discussing the difference between the too. Someone at Ironpony stated that a PC3 and Slip On would be the best thing since the factory headers and what not are pretty good from the factory. Is this true? So on the dyno a bike with full exhaust and a bike with slip on (both with power commanders) there would not be that much difference?:dunno:

I heard the same thing from a mechanic at Hinds. I'm guessing the only difference in headers (aftermarket vs. oem) is weight? OEM's might be heavier.

  3. To ahrma120:

I bought my 2005 r1 at your shop. While looking at ASK and Honda Northwest, Hinds offered the best price on the bike and on my trade in (1997 Honda CBR F3). The sales guy (forget who) told me he'd give me 3k for my trade, sight unseen. So, I brought it up there...and he tried to give me just 2.7k. After some haggling and letting him think I'd walk out, he gave me 3k. Deal was done. I bought the service plan as well.

My bike now has 17+k miles. All service (except mods and tire changes) have been completed by your shop. The bike runs fine...no real problems. After my first oil changed, I noticed there was a scratch on the oil cap. I let it go. I cared then...but now...I don't. After my 16k service, I noticed a fairing bolt was missing. I called the shop, they ordered me another, free of charge. They called a week later stating my free bolt was in. I was lazy...I didn't pick it up for over a month. I finally stopped in, and they still had my free bolt. Good service.

Anyway, I enjoyed your post. When it comes to buying my next new bike...Hinds will be the first place i go.

  4. For those that don't know or weren't following the "2009 Yamaha" thread' date='

I ditched the scooter and got a freakin nice ass bike yesterday.

I have the one and only "2009 Yamaha FZ6R" in the area (for now), mine was the first one HNW sold.

I got it last night, so stay off the streets of Hilliard for the next few days while I learn to ride! :D

  6. I looked at a 2005 636 at Hinderer. It was a decent bike but they wanted about 1500 more than I was willing to pay. I found this bike via ebay. They had a buy-it-now for 6k. I think the highest bid was 4250, which didnt meet the reserve. I offered 4300 or 4500 BEFORE the auction ended. He didn't even counter my offer. I guess my low offer was an insult. They had this bike for about a year too. i guess they're made of money :)

  7. Im probably in.. I want to see Putty take a rock between the eyes again and get rolled off his bike like last time flopping on the ground like a little girl bitching and moaning.. That shit was priceless.

LMAO!!! Him and those cheap "bug-eyed" goggles he wears. looks just like jeff goldbloom in The Fly!!!!

    Take that, Biatch!

  8. This is very sad news. Honestly, God or not, him speeding or the driver not looking. We all see people pull out in front of us occasionally and it pisses us off but I'm sure quite a few of us are guilty of going too fast as well, god knows most of these bikes can go from 0 to double the speed limit in about a blink of the eye. What happened here won't be figured out in this thread. The fact is, it doesn't matter and it's very sad that he's gone whether it was driver negligence or rider stupidity or a bad case of motorcycle narcolepsy..... honestly who knows. I think someone said it earlier, stop arguing and just tell your loved one's that you love them because this could happen to any of us. There is no reason to perpetuate the negativity of this situation. If we are looking for some good to come out of this then spread the word.... drivers watch out for motorcycles and riders don't ride like idiots on the street.... don't drink and drive or ride etc etc. End of story.

I don't know if I ever met Kenny but I was at the dyno day last year for a bit. My sympathies go out to his friends and family. This is a very sad way to go

    Well stated.

  9. I feel bad this guy lost his life. As a rider, I hope it wasn't the lady's fault. If he was going 65 in a 50, it's still his fault. And if he was going 100mph, there's not even an argument.

  10. <Matty> Hmm

<Matty> A little bored this afternoon

<Matty> Thought i'd do an exercise on buying versus renting

    <UG> indeed

<Matty> Paul Macartney is my subject

<Matty> I note according to reports he paid 49million dollars to heather mills for 5 years or marriage?

<Matty> Assuming he got sex every night during their 5 year relationship (which lets be honest, probably didnt happen) it would end up costing him $26,849 per time.

<Matty> Heather aint exactly the best looking bird

    <UG> then he's a dumbfuck :)

<Matty> Now i also note, Elliot Spitzers call girl, Kristen, an absolute stunner with a body like no other, charges $4,000 an hour. For anything..

<Matty> Had Paul McCartney 'employed' Kristen for 5 years, he would've paid $7.3 million for an hour of sex every night for 5 years (a saving of $41.7 million).

<Matty> Value-added benefits are: a 22 year old hot babe, no begging, no coaxing, never a headache, plays all requests, ability to put BOTH legs around you (!!!), no bitching and complaining or 'to do' lists. Best of all, she leaves when you're done, and comes back when you ask her. All at 1/7th the cost, with no legal fees

<Matty> Sometimes renting makes far more sense..

    Post of the Year!!!
