BC's idea sounds like the problem to me, shifting fork. The clutch would be fine, it lets him back up.
and reckless op, as for problems getting into reverse, jus put it in 5th first, then put it back into reverse
chris you are right in that matter. when i got pulled over for having my windows down, cop thought i might have tint since they were down i was going to fight it, but it was only a $60 ticket, and to even speak to the judge it would have cost me 55 bucks, so i didn't waste my time
For the laws of ohio, they must have their parking lights on at least. If you pass a cop doing 90mph, and he doesn't have his lights on, technically he's not allowed to pull you over. But there is nothing stopping him from radioing his buddy a mile up the road to stop you.
but in WV, they can hind in the dark without any lights on and still pull you over.
i would definately go with the 31 spline axles. i just had my rear end re done with 3.73 gears, rebuild the limited slip and all the bearings and seals. but i still won't run slicks. 28 spliners might break
sunfire mod: remove the entire air intake assembly, just str8 throttle body. U should be able to chirp/smoke tires in the 1st/2nd gear shift. we did it in our rent a car sunfire a year ago. we did laps around 12tha dn 13th ave
we used loctite on the driveshaft bolts to connect to the pinion. input shaft could be the problem too. when mine tranny went out, it clunked a lot, the lower the rpm the worse. when it was all said and done, i only had 4th gear left, and no parts were salvagable out of the tranny
