  1. 10/6/12:

10/20/12: Sometimes a deal pops up that is just too good to pass up, today was one of those times haha. On a local facebook selling wall a set of Weld wheels with 24.5 Mickey Thompson's pop up. I have been wanting these wheels for 2 years now. I will pick up a set of matching rear skinnies at some point as well. I paid less for these than you can buy the rims alone for.

You FUCK! ;) I saw those and Criags list and shit-guy never got back tome, now I know why.

Great pic up-good lick with the build- and let me know if you want to come off those wheels. If you dont already have a 6262 I would consider trade+cash.

  2. ughhhh March first deadline? I wish it would get pushed to April!

I am a maybe on this.

You can buy in April if you want, you will just have to pay more

Entry Deadline is March 1st. Late entries will be $150 by April 15th and $200 by June 1st. NO entries after that date! If there isn't at least 15 entries by March 1st I will cancel the contest on this forum as I don’t want to waste the sponsors time and money.

  3. Shit, can a 9 sec car get in on this or is it just murder out the gate? Hell $100 is worth just getting to line up beside some of the cars that are going to be there racing.

A 20 second car can get into this-

And with all the incentives and discounts being offered by the sponsors, I would not be surprised if the vast majority of entertainers are in it to participate, shit talk, get discounted parts/services, and be a part of the shenanigans. THAT'S the point of this-push your car-push yourself-have other people you, have fun doing it!

OEM Vs China. The Rusty OEM tested good and is going back on the car-DO NOT RUN NON OEM!

  5. After many requests, the "results" updates on the site will be kept private if the owner chooses, but they must be sent to the Admin for confirmation. Only the Admin team will be aware of it and will publicize ALL of the numbers by Aug 15th. If you intentionally sandbag results (Dyno/track in June, and dont post until Dec) those results will not be allowed for contest purposes.

    Keep the suggestions coming

  6. Big 3 Stepping up AGAIN

Big 3 to offer special discounts on parts for members that will include 10% off turbonetics, comp turbo, turbo smart, all holley efi components, and procharger systems. every thing but procharger will also be free shipping! Must be a member to get discounts, discounts are taken from map prices(min advertised price) so this information cannot be re-posted! Thanks.

  7. In Cash, Correct.

Plus Winners get Specific Swag, Trophies, and the other sponsors prize offerings and of course, bragging rights. Everyone that enters at least gets a T Shirt and entries into drawings of other sponsored prizes-access to the private forum, and an invite to the banquette. The more participation he more effort I will put into this-remember this is making me less than zero $, as I am assuming I will have some outlay to make all of it come together, not to mention the time I and the people helping out are spending on it. If it makes for a fun shit stirred 2013 it will all be worth it. :)

  8. Unofficial Rules-comment away. The web site looks GREAT so far- thanks to Ben for setting that up! This will go live this weekend

    Entry Rules and Fees

Contest Entry is $100 per car. Multiple cars per driver are allowed but $100 will be needed for each car. All entrants must be a member of CLEVELAND RACING or sign up for a username on the site. This will get you access to the forum for tracking purposes, and access to a Private member’s only section for "street discussion". All entrants will get a T-Shirt and all discounts/opportunists offered by the sponsors.

    Current Sponsors Include

    Back Street Performance

    Big 3 Racing

    Detective Coating

    IPS Motorsports

    TI Dyno

    McBrides Horsepower

    Buschur Racing

Entry Deadline is March 1st. Late entries will be $150 by April 15th and $200 by June 1st. NO entries after that date! If there isn't at least 15 entries by March 1st I will cancel the contest on this forum as I don’t want to waste the sponsors time and money.

Entrants will list car make/model/mods-ect. Provide a picture that will go on a website to track the progress of the entrants. All dyno runs and track times MUST be verified with a sheet signed by a sponsor and a backed up time slip! All dyno #, ET, and MPH entries must be made between March 1st and Dec 30th. ONLY runs made AFTER entry into the contest will count. If you Dyno’d 1000whp on March 30th and enter on April 5th, you can’t use that dyno for this contest.

Eligible cars - Any and all street driven and raced cars. Must be plated, insured and be driven on the street often. No alcohol (as a primary fuel) and must have a radiator, doors, Dash, and Front Glass. Your car must be known and judged as a street car by your peers - that’s about it. We are not going to bog this down with a bunch of rules and regulations - we are all big boys with common sense. This is a contest governed by the racers. If your car is a racecar, you will be called out and forfeit your spot - PERIOD. If you have a question or concern if your car is a race car, post up and ask. NO CELEBRITY DRIVERS.

Big thanks to the sponsors already on board - Backstreet Performance, Big 3 Racing, TI Dyno, and IPS Motorsports, McBrides, and Buschur Racing. These will be the official Dynos for the contest and they only ones that can be used for scoring. Also for you DSM guys - ECM Tuning will offer a 15% discount on all products (when ordered and verified though me)! If you need anything - shoot me an email. I will also offer FREE tuning/assistance with any DSMlink customer. Cincinnati Members- Turn in Concepts will likely be on board by the end of the week (2wd and 4wd)

For the current official dynos - any contestants will get $50 dyno time for baseline pulls! (Please call in advance to schedule appointment). For AWD Dynos, $75. ($75 both ways for Bushcur) This is cheaper than anytime during the year besides select dyno days, so this is a benefit for anyone who enters! If you are getting work done by any of the said shops and Dyno in conjunction for testing or tuning, these will also count for the contest.

There will be a 8% Bump for Mustang and Dyno Dynamics Dyno #’s - no bump for automatic transmission cars as this is a WHP contest, not motor HP.

Big 3, Backstreet performance, and TI dyno are also offering big discounts for dyno rental and tuning specials for people in the contest. Please call for pricing and availability - don't try to BS them as they will have a list of competitors. Big 3 is also offering 10% off Minimum advertized price for EFI, Turbonetics, and may other brands for participants with FREE shipping! Call Big 3 for details.

    “Street Sweeper”-10% of the Pot+Tropthy+Winners T Shirt.+McBride's HP swag

This will go to the car that has "done the most work" throughout the year. Not JUST wins, but the guy that was out there racing all year long and winning most races at the drag strip, road course, airfield and any “other” types of side by side racing. This will be judged by the contest entrants only!

There will also be some prizes raffled off and available to anyone who signs up+other incentives for people who don’t feel they will be "competitive". I also plan on holding an awards banquette at the end of the year somewhere interesting if there is enough interest.

There is a lot of incentive for people that feel they don’t have a chance at winning any one part; t-shirts, discounts, prizes, ect. Also the more cars that enter the more we can break this down. I want this to be fun and motivate you to push your cars performance and potential all year long!.

  9. I'm sure you will get it back together way better than before. We're pretty much on the same boat. After taking two weeks off and coming back to the car, I decided the work I had done wasn't worth a shit and should go in the trash. There is a big difference between getting close and having it done right. So the plans are 8.8 rear end, rebuild the 2jz, and send the rear off to get welded correctly.

    Boom! :)

  10. UPDATE.

After some more hooliganry-I left the car at the Grassroots compound so we could toss a LSD insert int he trans. He calls me a week later.

"Car was running, just died-sounds like it has no compression! I was just moving it in the dirveway!"

I go over, have a beer, and determined that something is indeed very wrong-tow it home.

Upon inspection, the timing had jumped a full 8 teeth! Yikes! I set it back up, and spun it by hand. No contact. Cranked over the motor with no fuel, has compression, but it sounds like a dead hole. Test and find 5 psi in #1. Nothing like breaking **** doing nothing. Take head off-exhaust valves slightly bent.

Winter is good for something-down time. So I put a head together with likely more work than any other head I have done-even tried some experimental port work I have never done before. If this head does not flow a ton of air at low boost levels, I will never do this much work to a head again!! Pics coming soon.

NOTE-I found the tensioner on the car looks like it may be non OEM. All OEM tensioners I have seen have 3 numbers cast into the tension- this does not, and appeared to be of a different casting. After some "testing"- I am 909% sure it is bad. Testing consisted of several compression cycles-a rust OEM tensioner stayed stiff at full extension, while the "new" assumed aftermarket has about an 1/8 inch of axial free play.

After seeing this-I dont think I would ever put a non OEM tensioner on a car again.

  11. Unfortunately these have dried up too. Last week I ordered a Hero2 from one of the few remaining online retailers that listed it on their site for $199 but have yet to receive a shipping confirmation so I'm anticipating that when I follow up they'll tell me that they can't fulfill the order.

You can walk into a store and buy them from anywhere.com for that. Why wait?

  12. I purchased a GoPro Hero 2 last year and I am still 100% satisfied with it. Full HD is awesome. Even the "crappy" resolution on YT still looks decent assuming your PC can handle the graphics load.

IMO GoPro Hero2's are going to be superior than the competition. Nothing else has impressed me like this camera. Ease of use, ability to get a good smooth shot, mounts surviving over 150mph, etc. Each alternative has some drawback that makes me happy with my purchase. I use it for cars, hunting, skiing, etc, so the waterproof capabilities are a huge plus for me as well. Here are some of the videos I have taken with my camera...this is all raw unedited footage, and im far from an expert!:

    Cars:

    Hunting

    Skiing

    Great review.

I think I will buy at least one go pro-especially when I am diving-most cameras I have used under 30 feet, are full of water by 20 :lolguy: I have used them a ton, but they have always been someone else. I think a Combo of one Hero2 and a few Wal Mart specials will make for great videos. :)

  13. What is the remote function? My biggest beef with the gopro is the fact I can't remotely turn the camera on when I'm in my car and can't see wht the fuck the camera is shooting. I just got a new gopro 3 with the screen attachment, but there is some bullshit update I have to download to use it---their stuff is not user friendly

You can use your smart phone to turn it on-and there is some way you can actually see it live via screen shot. I think this function is available on the 2 and the 3. And yes, their customer service sucks. Another turf off.
