  1. On this subject-in your opinion what is the “best” card in terms of reward for spending/easy hack ability?? It seems like Southwest is the most incentivized? I dont mind doing Southwest- simply shooing for a deal on international flights…

    LMK your opinions on this.

  2. yes. I saw some demo video and it does include sound.

For the price, that is REALLY impressive in HD mode. And hell Kmart lists them as well!

I am about sold on this for the track/day time action-only question is night footage....

I've been through a couple GoPro's and am getting ready to buy a new one. I use them on the bike and the car's for rally. The remote option is an must have and they just does't seem to be a cheap way to get "good everything". You are going to lose out somewhere, whether it be sound quality or durability, I can't justify not spending the money if it's going to be used on cars and bikes.

Not that it's cheaper, but be aware of Conture as a good camera also.

I agree, the remote option is a big selling point. But again, we have been doing this for years without it. Hell, back in the day we had our buddy sitting shot gun with a Camera in his hand for any and all video! Hell I was watching VHS'd races this weekend- NO JOKE.

  3. Go pro alternatives?

I am looking to finally pick up a few cams of my own-and cant warrant spending 800$-1000 for 3 or 4 cams.

First-anywhere to get them cheaper? I see they are about $200 for the HD 2 everywhere, and $300 for the black.

I see this-I kind of like it. Also has good reviews.

Those don’t seem to have “remote control” capability though-which is not a big deal but makes things easy for the long drive to the border, when do don’t want to or don’t have time to get out of the car.

    Opinions? Suggestions?

  4. Prep just depends on the day really, I personally like trails but thats just me. If you go out expecting great things at IFO you're gonna go away dissapointed, if you go out understanding that prep may be minimal, the racer count will most likely be low but enjoy hanging out with friends and looking at cars, you will be just fine. I don't think I have ever left an IFO event in a bad mood and I have left twice broken (clutch and hurt motor).

The 2 I went 2 in 06 I left with trophies and money (and a questionable itch? :dumb:)

Lets see if we can make that happen again! KilKare vs John Shreck and Neon John in the finals was EPIC. I still tell stories about that race.

I'll be at all three. plus the PA event and hopefully get the car done in time for march 3rd NC event.

    Same set up?

    What class do you run?

  5. Fuel to the fire for the Dyno debate

On BR's Dino-supposedly reads "very" low

    583 whp/430 ft lbs

20 psi was reached at 4727 rpm

    Peak boost was 30.90 psi

Boost at 8,000 rpm was 30.02

    Average AFR's were 11.4:1

    Air intake temps:57.20 degrees

So Peter's car gained 36 whp and 32 ft lbs of torque.

A side note to this. The timing curve was NOT CHANGED AT ALL. The timing curve stayed exactly the same through all the testing. Knock counts in the mid range actually dropped just a little because the peak torque now is happening a little later than with the stock ported intake.

Very impressive gains. Very impressive pump gas numbers. Peter's car weighs 2620 with no driver. This is easily a 9 second pump gas daily driver.

Also note, this is on BP93 octane that was bought on the way here. NO ALCOHOL.

**This car was driven back to New Jersey 7 hours after this dyno was done. Peter got an unbelievable 33 mpg. Two days later the car was driven to CT to ICS and dyno'd on their AWD Dynojet where the car put down 615 and 619 whp on two consecutive dyno runs!! This is the first pump gas EVO to break 600 whp. Congrats Peter.

Thats only a 6% difference b/w a dynojet and the heartbreaker-is a situation where Dave did not know he was going to be providing basically back to back results.

  6. Funny story. One of my partners (50-ish), drives a prius. Asked me why the brakes were so big on my car. He had no clue that it was even a sports car, let alone what the car actually is

I guess that's the ONLY thing that keeps me from pushing to get one (used). I dont have your kind of disposable income, but if I was to get a "supercar", part of the must haves for me would be for it to look like a supercar. The guys filming a GTR are 100% garunteed to be forum fanboys that actually know its not a new Altima. You can get used GTR's for 50k these days. But for 50k....

I would buy a Viper, a set of wheels, and more rental property. :dumb:

  7. Aluminum exhaust? I thought aluminum doesnt work for exhaust tubing as its melting point is so low and will warp from the hot exhaust. Or is this like Aluminized Steel?

I was running AL back in 2003 when it was really "different".

Looks great- Antwon do you have or have you run it without the muff? I have an un-muffed' 3.5 AL on t he Colt right now, I would be interested to hear the difference!

  8. Things are looking good boys-dynos and sponsors and committed. Waiting on a few AWD options of the GTRs, EVOs, and DSMs. I think a lot of people will be exited to enter the contest just for what the sponsors are putting up for the entrants! :)

This is good, and I want to see a lot of participation even from people who feel they don’t have a chance to win. If there are enough entrants, we can look into braking to down by HP/ET/MPH for a upper and lower division.

Either way-there has to be an absolute minimum of 10 people for this to happen-if not, it will just stay private amongst friends. I am not going to waste any of the sponsors' time and money!

  9. Fair enough...I'm not really a big Vegas guy so I'll probably have to pay to play but I'm not going on this trip to be a casual tourist...this is more of the "hair on fire, donuts in the middle of LV BLVD" type of trip :D The wifey has to have a place to sit in the club so bottle service is basically a must.

If your are staying at the hotel-you can ask the concierge to put you in touch with a host-they will take care of you.

What I would do going in as a first timer-go to HAZE (different club-same hotel) the day before. Find a host (they are all handing around the front dressed the same) and shoot the shit with him, get his card. Then, text him in the next day-get a referral to a host at Marquee (or they may host Marquee as well)- these guys make all of their money setting shit up-bringing people in. If you are THEIR referral from their "personal book", they will take care of you more than if the Hotel referred them (they are paid less on this).

Also done be afraid to negotiate-ask for a certain table in a certain area-ask for Buy one get one bottles...ect. Ask like you have done this before!

    Good luck. :)

  10. Love to hear anything more about the perks associated with starting a line of credit at the place you're staying.

We're headed to Vegas in a few weeks, staying at the Cosmopolitan which also houses the Marquee day and night clubs where I'd like to spend a good bit of my time. If starting a line of credit with them gets me perks on bottle / table service I'm absolutely in. My favorite DJ is playing there the evening we get there and the DJ's the next night I wouldn't mind seeing either. Obviously the Day club is probably going to suck this time of year considering it's usually pool related activities.

Marquee is a great club-but for Vegas nightlife getting deals on bottle service is all about who you know. The Line of Credit just tells them you are ready to spend IMO.
