  1.

Nothing was hidden from you. You just didn't do any research. You wouldn't drop your car off at the shop without inquiring about an estimate. Why do people go nuts when they're asked to pay money for their well being?

    .

Because when you call an insurance company, your on hold for long periods of time, just to be told they "don't know" if its covered without the specific billing code, in network, out of network, pseudo network...ect. I have dealt with this first hand, and found egregious errors in billing multiple times. I have saved 1000s in bills/collections over the years by dickind around on hold and basically pitting the insurance companies against the service providers to figure out who fucked up.

Also-for whatever reason there seem to be multiple billing"codes" for the same thing. One may be covered, one is not. GTFO

    And best of all-

Prices for all items are "negotiated" between the service provider and insurance companies. Magically, if the insurance is paying a portion, the cost for the bill is much lower-but when its paid out of pocket by the consumer direct, its a fuck ton more? How in the fuck is this even legal?

    Using your analogy-

If you drop your car off at the dealer you are suggested what the diagnostic fee will be (which never happens in the medical setting), and then called, and told what the repair cost will be once the problem is discovered. Both of these quotes are provided by the service provider. Again, this does not happen in the medical field.

At the end of the day, the financial side of our medical system is FUCKED. I am not suggesting I know what the solution is, but like all things, the steering power of the almighty dollar effects the system from top to bottom.

  2. Has anyone experienced a sudden onset of night sweats? I've never had an issue until recently. It's not a "drenched the sheets, shirt, undies, etc" type but an uncomfortable dampness. I tried to look up what could cause it and of course I either have: HIV, cancer, low T, cancer, and other horrible things.

So what consider it a chronic and should see the doctor type and what considers it normal and suck it up?

The Answer-nothing that will be answered on CR ;)

  3. The shot doesn't cause you to get the flu. .

In understand that- its taken to "help prevent" getting the flu. I am saying everyone who got the shot *early int he season* Still got the flu.

this isnt the flu... its just a nasty cold.. (at least at my house...) The fever never got over 100..

Flu, cold, shits, whatever you call it-your still sick LOL. I never went to the doc and never took my temperature so whatever I had is anyone's guess.

  4. [quote=hpfiend;1937919 Dunno what you mean about the rear end- you mean where they did more sanding or fiberglass work?

The actual wheel spacing. Maybe its just a goofy offset.

Is he flexible on Price? You can PM em contact info may be a fun toy for the wife

  5. I think either would be fun, but I'm leaning towards the 6266 and going some rounds. Of course I've never done a half mile and I'd likely get hooked if I did it, so in short I guess I'm no help.

There is appeal to both. We had a ton of fun running around and racing IFO in 05-07, but that was 10+ years ago My struggle is I've been to one IFO in 2 years, am I really going to make an effort to campaign now? My kids are 2 and 4, not a very good age to "enjoy" a track day and I already do a lot of extracurriculars during the summers

Depends on what your willing to lose vs what is important. As you know priorities change in life.

No one goes out there with the intention of dying. I wont do it without a cage, aero...ect- but what I am saying is its simply significantly cheaper to "qualify" for the speed. Nice thing about LSR is if you lose it, your typically spinning around a field- not bouncing off walls at the strip

  6. Lmao I forgot to put coolant in the supra earlier this year. Realized it on the way over, checked my coolant temp sensor output via laptop, said 23*, said fuck it, drained a gallon of water and put a gallon of coolant in it. Let it run for an hour and it was fine.

Hard when the car does not want to start on E85 and a dead battery :dumb:

Galant was the same! A real -10 that we may get may have seriously cracked a block/cylinder.

Colt is not back in the garage to thaw out. Should be OK

Galant fired right up on old E50. The Radiator was already almost frozen! I let the motor warm the block and I manually heated the radiator with a torch. Added 3/4 Gallon of 100% coolant. Made sure the heat was hot int he cabin and called it good. Back under the cover for winter she goes. Should be good to the deep freeze in a few days now.

  7. I always heard using a slightly lower viscosity oil is good in winter if you're actually gonna drive the car, not sure if that's just an old wives tale.

    Its not.

Viscosity gets significantly "worse" near freezing- in most cases double what it is at 40-50deg.

With tighter clearances in today motors, that will keep your shit at about a bajillion PSI oil pressure on cold start when its 0* F. One of a few reasons why a lot of manufacturers have moved to a 0-30 and 0-20

  8. I have always found that mounting the muffler farther downstream makes the exhaust louder. Closer to the engine seems to increase the sound deadening ability

Thanks for this! I have little experience in this area (making shit quiet) so this is all helpful.

Perfect! And Tom is a great guy- real DSM OG. He was a youtuber before a youtuber was a thing. With 135k subscribers he is probably seeing some coin from it too. good for him!

  9.

I say try it, I but it's at least much closer to what you're looking for. Worst case you just weld it back together.

My only fear is that the current set up is very nice so whatever I do I'd like to do it once if that makes sense

If the current volume is to your liking, look into a Helmholtz resonator. It can easily be tuned to the RPM range that needs attention.

You talking about something like this? http://photobucket.com/gallery/http://s1338.photobucket.com/user/Jovanybg/media/IMAG0328.jpg.html

  10. Current situation-

The Galant had a full 3.5 in SS exhaust- no muff. Its a but raspy for me in the mid range. Idle and off throttle its the best sounding exhaust I have heard. I'd like to keep the best of both worlds if possible. Sounds is 10/10 at idle. 2/10 at 3k with 20% throttle. 8/10 at WOT over 6k. I also prefer the look w/o the muff in the back on this car.

So, I have a 3.5 inch dynomax bullet i can fit in the back-or have room to sneak in in the area where the cat would be. Anyone running JUST a mid muffler and had success eliminating rasp?

  11. Property tax, state tax, and local tax is capped at $10k. This will affect more people than realize it. All the tax prep software automatically combined all your taxes paid when you itemized. My property tax was $3900 last year but my total SALT deduction was like 10500.

If this is accurate, thats pretty brutal for middle america.
