  1. Sorry to bump an old thread- but Im looking to boost signal in both my finished basement and upstairs rooms. Current issues

    1) Work from home and use a a VOIP phone so speed is already a commodity.

    2) Signal is to week on far wall of basement for Smart TV to pickup signal and use Netflix for example

    3) Signal up stairs is too weak for similar function. **Having it strong enough to WORK in a bonus room Id like to have a computer/workstation in is a plus**

    4) Limited Cable outlets so moving the cable companies rented router is not a viable option

I am getting a bit confused on AP vs Relay vs Router functions. Here are my questions-

    1) Should I just buy a great router that will fix all these issues and send the rented one back to the cable company? Or is this not the solution?

    2) If I want to boost a signal next to a device far from the router- do I need a RELAY device?

    3) What would CR do?!

  2. I can give you ideas for hours on this. Went there every year for SEMA for 10 years straight, multiple Bros trips, Multiple wife/family trips. If you have questions shoot me a PM, but here is a cliff notes for a 2 week trip. **NOTE** My actual suggests depend greatly on your length of stay**

    1) If your there for 2 weeks Plan a trip OUT of Vegas for a few days. Your too close to San Diego/LA to not check it out while your there if you've never been to the west coast. Quick 4-5 hour drive either. Pick one-get to the coast. Do 3 day 2 nights

    2) Shows- do your research. See what you WANT to see, no what some discount ticket guy sells you. If the tickets are cheap or free, the show likely sucks. All the Cirque shows are at least good- some are epic. The KA stage is mind blowing. ONE is very, very cool. Mystère is cool if you like the Circus. O is next level. Take your pick. I would also recommend you see one big name Comedy or Magic show to get the full "Vegas experience"

3)Car/bike Rental. Again, up to you and your desires. Rent a bike only if its 60+ otherwise you will be too cold to enjoy. Rent a Camaro or Mustang vert at a minimum. Vegas Experience at the track is great- better than all the lambo "rent and follow the leader" rentals IMO

    4) Hiking- If your into it and in OK shape- you have to do Red Rock and if you have time Mt Charleston. At minimum, Drive Red Rock (note- gets very cold and Windy at night during the fall/winter). If your really into hiking- just plana FULL DAY or DAY + to Zion. It will be the most epic shit you will see in the USA

    5) Food. So much good food. To much to list- just point and click. My one MUST DO for the full "Vegas experience" is the Top of the World at the Stratosphere. Always, always had great food and service and one of the Best dining views in the Country. Truly unique especience. Get there early and grab a cock tail int he lounge

    6) Clubs- Its Vegas. Live a little! Just find a promoter get a free pass and a drink ticket and go one of the Mega Clubs on an off night for free. I'd say a pool party is a Must if your going in summer, but you may not be ready for that ;)

I can go on for days here, but I'll leave it at that :)

**EDIT** I misread your post- that your going IN to weeks, not for 2 weeks LOL. But fuck it, I'll leave my list for future searches ;)

  3. You saved enough on the car to splurge a little. How else am I going to live vicariously?

Find me one cheap and I will pull the trigger.

Someone just told me about that. Said hundreds of cars. I had no idea.

    Dude-

Ive been there and it was so pack there were making people parka legit 1/4 mile away. On any decent night its several hundred cars MINIMUM.

Any locals with a C6 Z06 (stock or slightly modded) want to do a meet and greet + mild test drive? I can offer up a 996TT, in exchange.

I keep looking at C6 Z06s on Craigslist, Autotrader, Bring A Trailer, etc, but I've actually never driven one. I'm unsure if I'd actually fit in the vehicle properly or like the ergonomics. Example - I used to be a big fan of the 03-04 Terminator SVT Mustang Cobra, then I drove one and knew instantly that I would never buy/own one within minutes. That car was not made for me and was just silly.

Ha! You know your welcome to the keys anytime you like old friend. I was the Same way with the Viper. Loved the look, loved the though, drove one- was a pretty instant nope for what I was looking for. The Vette is a much better driver IMO. Mine? Well the Cam's pretty agressive. For a real DD-I think one may want a milder cam.

I think you should def test drive that one you linked-looks like you can gets some history on it and its making good power to boot! :)

  4. Were you tested fitting the badge with tape or is the vinyl damaged under it? Curiosity got the best of me...

    Tape.

And the Vinyl was just sent over the mounting holes for the OE badge

I made 580 to the wheels with a very streetable cam, ported/milled heads, nick Williams throttle body, fast intake, and catted long tubes with the stock mufflers on a conservative tune.

You'll easily eclipse 600 if you go e85. I truly miss how easily this motor revs, and the feeling of burying it in 3rd at 80mph

I hesitate to use the word "exotic" but it has a very, very nice "pitch" from 4-7k at full WOT

And yes, Eric @ backstreet showed me an overlay of a HC+102mm FAST car vs mine. I made 2 more HP, but he had way more torque down low. He feels this cam would see 600+ with any intake manifold even with a stock TB, and likely 620+ with a 102mm, and 7500 RPM. But recommended new Valve springs just in case.

  5. Grant wanted a quote for a 124k mile 2007 CTS-V that was hit/repaired by Kevin Clifford on the passenger side.

I know he's not going to follow-through with a deal, so I threw a number knowing I'll never get it.

Depending on mods and condition, that may be a very fair price :)

  6. Drive a non x drive 435. Xdrive kills the 335/435 car for some reason.

I think he just needs to drive one with a tune. We are talking 80+HP and 100+ HP with JUST the tune. I would have zero fun in my 535ix without it, but with e30, filters and all the boosties, it goes from snoozer to the most all around usable and fun DD I have ever owned.

Same can be said with the Gen2 V. If you drove one with JUST a pulley, Intake and some fuel, your mind may be set. Dont just consider the "now" on the test drive, consider the potential (and potential cost) down the road.

  7. Keep in mind that dashcam camera images are deceptive at night. Your eyes have much better dynamic range...

    I agree 100%

I blacked out for a sec, porb because I rarley UBER.

So the person behind the wheel IS the driver. For some reason, I though they were a passenger, a person who called an UBER.

Well, this is a pretty open and shit case. She gon'. Guilty.

  8. Even the 3rd gen V? It is a large car. I was looking at a 2016 CTS V Sport and man is it big on the outside at least.

3rd Gen is bigger than Second gen, yes. But my "old" 535 still feels larger in the front and back than a 3rd gen. ( I dove my car to "text drive" a new V so I had a good back to back. Also, AWD is just SO much better for a true DD. Rain, snow, desert dust, whatever. AWD wins when your making 500+Ft lbs.

I think the CT6 is really competition for the 7 series and similar. The HUGE Luxo barge segment. There is money to be made there- I mean people are paying 150k for these cock suckers! Dafuq

  9. So Heads / Cam / intake / exhaust and it puts down 579 to the wheels? Incredible..,

And thats with a stock intake and TB. It is pretty wild to think about it, but everyone with a cam this big is making 560-600+depending on the supporting mods. Add an MSD or Fast intake, 102mm TB and I'd expect 600+ on pump. Add E85 and 610-620 is what people are seeing. On motor only! Its mighty impressive. But when you consider its a dry sump'd titanium rod'd 427 that can spin to 7K+ it makes sense. Its a factory racecar.

  10. Didn't they already do that with the third Gen CTS-V?

Even my 535 feels MUCH larger than a CTS-v, and obviously no comparison to the 7 series.

Its interesting that the motor is being made in bowling green. Is this the mill going into any of the Vettes?
