  1. or jsut buy lees vett. i beleive into the 6s once or twice. 110,000. i belive but that is a really good deal.

thats what Im saying. You want a drag car-Build that.

You want a street car, I want to see somthing that goes low 10's, high 9's on stock wheels and BFG's. All boost. thats a bad street car.

The car in this thread is a race car being paraded around as a street car.

  2. What's not streetable about it. Said car is a spray car, so of course runs a fairly tight converter, which helps. But nothing non-streetable about it. Shifts were humane, no heat issues, gearing was reasonable enough to survive on the highway (of course that's no different than a TH350/400, etc.). Puts around a neighborhood without any issues either.

    Ummmm

Sure, a glide w/ a peaky powerband and a 5000 stall probably sucks nuts on the street.

You just answered your own question.

I did not know it was + Nitrous, now I am even less impressed with it.

  3. IMHO, they took everything balanced about the Z06 and threw it out the window. B&M shifter bandstrapped to the console? 12bolt rearend?!?! No thanks! :) If I wanted to go faster than 9 seconds, I'll build a dragster purposely designed for such a task...NOT ripping apart a $35k used Vette to make it happen.

    .

    2nd.

Its a race car. Its cool, its quick, but to go and have a full out drag vehical, I would like to see it going faster.

There are many with Supra's and TT vettes driving to the track, going low 9's, high 8's@ over 150mph, and driving home. To me, that is infanently (sp) cooler.

  4. And what sanctioned event will allow you to acheive this speed?

There isnt exactly many choices.

I must ask because it does not meet the criteria of our bet (Either on Anthony's Gun, or whitnessed GPS...)

But, the car will me no different than street trim, actually set up to be a little slower.

The reason I ask, is because I may have been asked to participate in an event that may have heavy magaziene coverage in which I may hit the speed in question.

  5. Alright, this can't be that difficult. You obviously read my name on a post, so it should be even easier to spell it correctly. Let me also point out that I agreed to race earlier in the thread, because you dickheads don't know when to shut up. However, at no point in time did I say that I had a faster car than JP, nor do I care if I do or don't. No one knows for certain, or there would be no discussion with regard to this. I said he can't do 180. It's that simple, and I sure wish you trolls would quit dancing around what the fuck I said and starting (more) shit. (Than usual) Let me state this yet again, for whoever doesn't fucking get it.

I say that the turbocharged Colt in question, driven by the author of this thread, can not achieve a 180 MPH velocity under its own power (as verified by GPS or Anthony's radar gun) on a stretch of road agreeable to all interested parties, weather permitting. Wager: $100

Now, that being said... Please, kindly STFU.

    Just to keep it fresh.

    Question-does a sanctioned event count?

  6. My statement is what is somehow defined as a 'suburb' of Cleveland is moronic. There are towns two or three towns from Cleveland and half an hour drive that are considered suburbs. I don't care if that's how the census derives it or not. Suburbs of Columbus directly border the city. Post up some facts. I am. This should explain every reason why Columbus>Cleveland regardless of 'population' if you aren't a moron. That has obviously been in question since the day you were born so I'm not sure that these will help you at all.

Average household income in Columbus in 1999.

Average household income in Cleveland in 1999.

    http://pics2.city-data.com/hin/16890.png

The distribution in that graph is just mind-boggling. I bet there are second world countries that look about the same.

On Topic. Wasn't someone saying the Hypereutectic pistons couldn't take any power in that car. ;)

Even though I can not see the data you have miss linked, I can tell by your statements that the City of Cleveland is more poor than the City of C-bus. Again, considering this, and considering 90% of the members from “Cleveland” do not actually live in Cleveland (unless on the outskirts as I), this is another reason why you have no choice but to consider the suburbs. If you looked at Cleveland alone, we would not have much of a race scene. The same to be said for C-bus.

So, thanks for straightening my point. You da man.

Slowbusa-We discourage much of anyone coming on runs with us. We try to leave 99% of the people are at the spot there, because if you have the 100’s of cars that show trying to be spectators it quickly turns into a big cluster fuck, and nothing of any value would end up going on. But you already knew that.

  7. Oh for fucks sake. You morons up near Cleveland consider something that's half an hour from the city a ‘near suburb’. That's why that number is so high. Suburbs of Columbus actually border Columbus. What a novel idea.

Much more important is the fact that for the last two censuses the population of Cleveland and Cuyahoga county have drastically dropped. That city is going down the shit hole unless something changes. The real average income has continually dropped; the real average house price has continually dropped. Exactly opposite of what’s happened in Columbus. But oh no, your 'city' is 'bigger', it must be better.

I wish I lived in Cleveland, it’s so much better than here. :o

On topic. Holly fuck that was cool. Glad to see someone moding it like it should be moded.

These statistics were formulated by the U.S. Census bureau, not conjured up by me.

    But thanks for trying!

  8. About the size thing…

I mentioned his before but no one seemed to listen..

If your looking at population only, then yes, Columbus is bigger than Cleveland. Also, I would hope most would age that you must include the NEAR suburbs of a city when considering its size. Im sure not all on you live in the City of Columbus, the same can be said of Clevelanders. This would be called Cleveland proper, or Columbus proper as the case may be. Columbus lacks any large suburbs, while Cleveland has many.

(All stats according to 03 US census)

The City of Columbus-728,432 –Up from 560,000 in 1980

The City of Cleveland-461,324-Down from 580,000 in 1980

Now take in to the effect the NEAR suburbs, or the Metropolitan area…

    Columbus-1,674,589

    Cleveland-2,841,155

That’s 1.2 Mill more than the Columbus Metro area, and 1.2 Mill you guys simply can not ignore.

And don’t forget-Akron is only 20 Minutes away, hell, that’s almost a suburb!

    For shits and giggles…

    Huston-2,009,690

    Huston Metro-5,075,733

They are big, but barely bigger than the Cleve/Columbus tag team, and throw in the rowdy Akron bunch (212,215) And they be fucked.

Also consider than 1/3 of Texans are too busy cow tippin, ridding beat up 4x4’s or still tippin on 4-4’s to care about racing.

And the whole City of Huston smells like a Cow's ass! Every time I have been there its the same god forsaken smell. Anyone who has been there can verify that.

Fuck Huston racing. A representative of Cleveland's scene will be down there breaking hearts this spring as it is.

  9. That was great. Their rolling about 40ish then the STI take off, 7-8 seconds later the guy in the Accord pans down and he's only doing 80MPH. That has to be the slowest car on the planet.

As I stated above, I really dont think the Accord was in it at all. The way the Subie droped back behind, droped gear, and went, looked like the normal staged "pull" video.

Also, you could hear the accord get in it much after the Subie had disapeared.

  10. a short vid of a member with an STI and a gt35r ... plus all the supporting mods, easily 530ish whp doing a 4th gear pull against a supercharged V6 accord ...

    http://media.putfile.com/4th-gear-ewg

    enjoy!

If "against" means not in the gas, then congrads on the good kill.

Also, when the accord actually aplied force the that pedal to the right, it seems his Accord was slower than stock. Tell him nice TRD (Toyota Racing Developement) boost gauge as well.
