  1. glafer sintered pads eat up rotors too fast in my experience. I got over 30k miles out of my stock rotors using ferodo's st pads and my buddy has less than 8k with his galfers and they've chewed up the rotors something fierce. (same bike)
  2. here's a list of filters that cross over to motorcycles from cars. http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/FilterXRef.html when you see a number such as [5] you scroll down to the bottom of the list for the filter part number that corresponds to that number. car filters are far better than motorcycle filters from my experience and other picturs on the net of them cut open. yamaha makes probably the worst filter I've ever seen. it's just a block of fiberous material. no pleats in it to increase surface area or anything. I'd use a fram filter over it any day. purolator, wix, amsoil, and a few others are some of the good filters. I don't recommend a mobil 1 filter either because I personally witnessed a race engine in a car almost destroyed because of a mobil 1 filter. it collapsed inside and blocked about 90% of the oil flow. pressure dropped from 60+ to just over 8 or so. changed the filter out for a wix and it went back to normal.
  3. just came back from the grocery..everything is open where I live.
  4. that's actually a myth. most phones will still work after being dropped in water. hell mine went swimming with me when I fell in the river. took the battery out and let it sit for a few hours and it still works. then I left it sit on the hood of my truck and it rained on it all night. still works. of course I have a real phone not a over priced pos iphone lol

the only thing I could see being a game changer is they were left inside not outside. and what kind of shop doesn't have an alarm system with all that merchandise, tools, money, credit card info etc etc.

I wouldn't doubt having that clause of not being responsible for lost or stolen property will be enough to get them out of any legal trouble. I know a few people that had their car's broken into while at the service places over night. and couldn't get shit from those places because of that sign posted and since they physically signed the service order.
  7. it wasnt anything against riders discount. I'm just sayin I don't see the price there for held gloves. they seem cheap for their price. but I've never tried on a pair. I wouldn't buy them based on looks or reviews because they look like old tech for gloves
  8. I know everyone that has a pair says the same thing. but I think it's just so they feel better about over paying for something that isn't all that great. Like I do with my sidi ST boots. I'm in love with them because they look great but I shouldn't be. I paid 395 and they don't fit that well, (too big in the wrong spots) they don't fit anywhere nearly as well as my old sidi boots did. the airflow isn't all that even though they're vented. they're hard to get into. they're almost too thick to fit under the shifter, the hard plastic toe protector is digging into my foot when I walk in them. now that the lorica (synthetic leather) is breaking in the ankle brace system isn't supporting the ankle as stiff as I think it should. it's not that great of a boot. it's a hell of a lot better than the comparable a stars SMX-plus though. that new boot is just cheap junk. the brace is just a thin highly flexible piece of plastic that would be better suited as a strap not a brace. I'm just getting really disappointed in safety gear lately. it's so expensive but offers little in value for the cost. I have a pair of gloves made of roo that I paid $114 for and it has tons more stuff to it than the most expensive gloves out there right now. I tried on a new shoei RF-1100 and I about dropped that bowling ball monster on the floor it's so heavy. my RF-1000 feels like it's a whole pound lighter.
  9. I'm not trying to be a dick and rain on your parade but I just don't see the justification for $350 in those things. I understand the stingray leather being superior and all because I have a pair of kagaroo gloves and it's miles better than cow leather. but held gloves lack most of the stuff other glove companies use now. such as knox sliders on the palm, outside wrist protectors for that little bone that sticks out. plus I see an exposed velcro closure, no finger knuckle protectors at all, . and terrible looking airflow. the fingers insides are solid. heck and pair of teknic lightning gloves has more features to them than those do. I guess I'd have to try a pair on to be able to see the benefits. because pictures and words are not doing it.
  10. I would try a silicone spray instead of pb blaster. it can harm rubber seals. which is what's probably stiff on yours. silicone is a good ruber lubricant. and I agree with gixxie, don't force it. try working it both ways easily for a bit.
  11. GFS has the best BBQ sauce I've ever tried from a store. I used to like sweet baby rays but it still isn't as good as their stuff. I like their sweet BBQ sauce on ribs. if you have a store near you I recommend them over anything you'll find at kroger etc. it's restaurant grade quality. actually gfs is a great place to get restaurant grade food from at way better prices than you can get at a kroger etc. the only problem is you have to buy it on giant quantities. you can buy the big blocks of cheese and lunch meat that the deli uses to slice off of. lol I buy a 10lb box of ribs for $29. if you think about it, kroger sells those ribs from corkey's for $18 and it's only 2lbs or so. for 10lbs of ribs for $29 is a great deal. they also have a bucket of pre made mashed potatoes that are actually real mashed potatoes. for just slightly more than what a box of fake flake pototoes goes for. it's a great place to shop. http://www.gfs.com/en/home.page?
  12. the real advantages a bike has is it's ability to go where a car can't, take off quickly, and filter through traffic real easy and stop repeatedly without loss in braking power. in those cases the car driver will have to really really try to keep up. most cars brakes will over heat with several mins of hard use. if you can get a car into that situation, it wont take long before it's hardly able to stop for turns or traffic.
  13. he didn't keep pace with that guy in the front at all. hell by time he showed up at the end of the road the other dude was already sitting there for a few. he could probably easily keep up with a unskilled rider though. so you're point is very valid. though aimed at the wrong crowd. the people that shouldn't be getting upset and trying to run down a motorcycle is the car/truck drivers. but the guy in the first video you posted deserved to be chased down.
  14. boy you've been out of the loop for a while. that happened sometime last year in kentucky on Rt22. a road a lot of us around here ride. he got 2 years on prison for it. http://www.maysville-online.com/news/local/article_051d0ae6-32be-55a3-8c37-f0aee97a0bae.html
  15. the bike clipped the wrx. and he tried to run.
  16. I have the complete dvd set that has a lot more than those 2 videos show. guys going out for a session and he then checks the tires and makes adjustments to the suspension. repeat until the tire looks perfect. and everyone in the video starts picking up a few seconds on their lap times just from that.
  17. with flickr you have to right click the photo in the size you want to post, right click and choose properties then highlight and copy the image address. then you can use it in the post. they changed their site a few years ago and ever since the "share" address they put up never works for me. many many people have voiced their frustration on their forum but they never went back to the old one that actually worked. the shit they use now makes 0 sense at all. I have a nikon p60 and for the life of me cannot get it to take a decent picture 99% of the time. it's auto settings are absolutely horrible. hell my old kodak camera I bought when digital cameras were just coming out takes better pictures. if someone would like to explain some of the settings to me I'm all ears. I can post a picture with the camera settings and you can tell my what I should change. here's one I consider decent. I figured out how to get the f stop to work for the light conditions and stop making the water blurry from movement. but I cannot get the camera to take a picture of anything moving faster without being blurry. such as someone on a motorcycle going past me. my old cheap camera could but this one that's supposed to be so much more advanced can't. here's the pictures settings.. see how blurry they come out on the auto settings?
  18. it didn't get too bad here till about 3. it's like walking into an oven now though. but all day everyone in the shop was like i think the weather people are wrong. lol it didn't get above 83 in the shop all day.
  19. I'm being a smart ass. but it honestly would not surprise me.
  20. too bad that guy is going to sue that kid's family and win.
  21. most people I know go to haspen acres. http://haspinacres.com/
  22. Man I just bought a pair of vented sidi st boots and I frigging love the airflow in them. it makes riding so much more confortable in the heat.
