  1. ... sure, with an 86-87 drivetrain. Seriously, there are a few tech boards for the non-SFI cars. http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=11 http://www.flash.net/~rjgeorge/ Those are probably the two best sources for info, gnttype might have some, but it's more 84-87 tech. How fast do you want to go in it?

Back from the dead I know, but I found a few pics of why I have Vince do my transmission work. Vince's car (9.89@138 with a 2004R) http://www.home.earthlink.net/~ncturbos/_uimages/VJanis-1.jpg Frank Parvin's Stage II car, with Janis transmission http://www.home.earthlink.net/~ncturbos/_uimages/ParvinRacin.jpg A bunch of other fast cars with Janis transmissions. graemlins/fruit.gif
  3. RX-7. It's simple, they're sweet cars, just not reliable. Sure, you can make reliable horsepower, but not a lot. Also, flying apex seals out the exhaust isn't exactly good for a turbo. My turbo cost over a grand, I'd like to get the maximum life out of it.

Have you thought about a gear venders unit? Edit: I'm a tard, just now saw Dave already said something about it. smile.gif

You're wrong. ... also the 700R4 and 4L80E both have way too deep of a first gear.

Depends on what parts you want. You can get it built cheaper than $2,500. Chris, you need a new tranny guy. Bruce will recommend Vince. He's just a little closer. tongue.gif
  8. ... then you want the Nitto. smile.gif

They can take full weight Buick's into the 9's (full weight = 3700lbs) if you have it built by someone that knows what they're doing. Cheap? Depends on what you want done, but for the most part, a 2004R isn't cheap (compared to a TH350, TH400, etc.). I'd call Vince Janis (330-753-6609) and talk to him about it. He's a 2004R guru.
  10. Buick guys don't care about roll racing. It's all about the dig. ... add me to the list of BFG supporters.
  11. Shouldn't Brian's 86 be number 16 and not 21...?
  12. What kind of tips do you want? It's a direct bolt in. Use AFR heads.

  14. Ah, I thought there were normal sized ones as well. I've been meaning to check into one of the storage places that's close, but since it hasn't snowed yet I haven't really been motivated.
  15. What's the monthy cost on one? I'd like a place to keep the Buick this winter.
  16. If Nick digs up the old graph you can add me. I can't remember the numbers even though I was there. I'll dyno again, with good gas.

    5.0 help

Not going to get a turbo Buick?
  18. Quit whorin up my thread and find me a tig! tongue.gif
  19. Drivers side header has a good inch long crack in it. Normal Buick shit. Must get it done by the 9th...
  20. Yup, that's about it. Need either someone with experience welding cracks or a shop. smile.gif
  21. Mark, it's a TE60. tongue.gif Yes, you can still run a boost controller. I adjust boost by either shortening or lengthening my actuator rod. The shorter the rod, the less the wastegate opens and the more boost I run. Longer, further, less boost. My exhaust side is a 76 trim T3... graemlins/fruit.gif
  22. http://forums.off-topic.net/images/smilies/slap.gif TH-350 = Turbo Hydramatic 350 Turbo 350 is just short for Turbo Hydramatic 350. It sounds better than saying "TH". http://forums.off-topic.net/images/smilies/squint.gif [ 12 September 2002, 02:31 AM: Message edited by: kenny ]

    Gear Ratio

2.73's are stock gears, that's why I said it. http://forums.off-topic.net/images/smilies/slap.gif

    Gear Ratio

If the driveshaft turns twice for every spin of the tire it would make it a 2:0 ratio. That's a bit low, so I'd say a 2.73. Just a guess.
