No problem, that's one of the first things I look at. For instance, in Dallas my BAH for school is about $1,600.

Don't know if you were planning on going to school or not, but check out the BAH rates for the areas. I've noticed it gives you a good idea for the average in the area.

Just go to H-town for TX2K11. One of these days I'll get around to going down there with something worth while. I've done the 17 hour trip more than a few times, and it does suck, but it ain't that bad.

Get in before 4:00pm and you'll be ok. You'll wanna move outside of Dallas like Plano, Irving, Richardson, Addison etc... All those are relatively close to Dallas too. If you end up driving, plan on a good 17 hours.

Been good weather so far. It's not as bad as central Texas was when I was there. You'll be just in time for tornado season I plan on getting out into the suburbs sometime next year, unless I get a screaming deal on a condo in town.

I live right off Greenville Ave almost right off 75 in Dallas. I'm pretty close to damn near everything, but I haven't really gotten out to Ft.Worth yet. It's about an hour drive from Dallas to get over to Ft.Worth. I think you'll like it if you haven't already been. Don't be suprised to see lots of exotics rolling around downtown/uptown area. Not to mention there is always tons of stuff to do, but some of the bars/restaurants get a little crowded if they're popular at the moment.

I would've thought they had some sort of fail safe in place for such an occassion. I understand the diesel generators went out, but you would think, they'd have plans A through Z covered. I can only assume once everything goes to shit, there will be a major overhaul of their Nuclear energy program. I think with any exposure, there could be signs of radiation poisoning. It won't be severe like Depleted Uranium, but it'll probably be mild stuff like nausea, vomiting and the shits. The other stuff would probably not happen, but depends on if it magically got 10 fold worse.
