Shooting isn't a cheap hobby. In all reality you should be able to find 1,000 rounds of 55 grain 5.56 for around the $300 range. So you're shooting roughly $.30 per round. Buy an AK-74 variant if you really want to fire the Soviet response to the 5.56X45mm. The other part of the equation is magazines aswell. For the price of am S&W you should be able to snag a nice Arsenal SLR in 5.45X39mm.

I like to stay on the safe side with NATO ammo. Nothing wrong with a 1:9 twist, but I stick to my LMT w/ 1:7 twist for NATO rounds or the heavier 77 grain goodies. I've oy shot about 20 rounds of the MK262 stuff (I believe that's the nomenclature). Buddy hooked me up after he went to the All Army rifle shoot @ FT.Benning. With the 55 grain stuff, I never really noticed a difference in groups between my S&W or my LMT.

The S&W will only shoot .45ACP with moonclips. I only assume it adds a little length to the case to compare to .45LC. The Judge has never been advertised to shoot .45ACP. But then again, I haven't really taken the time to look into them being made by Taurus.

The ability to shoot .45ACP with moonclips is a welcomed bonus. Granted the pistol is also a 6 shot wheel gun. Wouldn't suprise me that S&W will get sales from it, but I'd expect atleast another $300+ more than the Judge. Atleast the S&W shouldn't blow up in your hand. Taurus brought out some 28 gauge version of the Judge aswell I guess. I assume 12 gauge is next?

I'd buy an S&W over a Taurus anyday of the week. I figured S&W would eventually capitalize on the .410 rounds on the market.

I've been shot at and blown up enough to not be scared of anything really. I get anxious or butterflies if that's what you call em', but scared left me when I was 19. I just know better now.
