  9. at the dealer expo this weekend i was talking to akrapovic, and they stepped into the harley ring. for what reason? They said 70% of new registered bikes last year were Harleys. thats crazy! i will agree that there paint is by far one of the best in the industry. i think the designs are spot on for that rugged bad ass look the image is there, the lifestyle is there. i disagree that they are reliable. all the bearings in the motor are taiwan, and most other components are china and mexico. out of every bike i have ever owned i was more concerned about not making it back on the harley on a trip. is there dealer support everywhere? yeah! will they bend you over for service? double yeah! out of all the bikes i have owned my Street glide was one of the most eye appealing bikes, and got the most attention, but it was not the most fun to ride. there motor and suspension is very very outdated. especially suspension. and the chassis.. dont get me started. who mounts a big unbalanced motor to the swing arm of a bike by rubber mounts? and then they wonder why its so sloppy. you can ride the wheels off a harley if you want to be throwing around a 800lb beast all day that is loose as a $2 dollar whore. it will make you work for sure. i just got tired of that, i wanted something more nimble, and had a chassis and suspension that actually worked well.
  10. Thanks alot! Pleasure doing business with you, as usual!
  11. avon storm 2 ultra might suit your needs nice sport touring tire. your options are kind of limited, but if your options are the shinko, bridgestone, and the avons, id tell you to steer towards the avons, a decent sport touring tire that is a multi compund tire. youll get the mileage from it, but will also get great performance out of the tire wet or dry. here is the SKU , model number, size, load rating, and rim sizes it will fit. recommended for 4.25, but will fit 4 -- 4.50" widths 4566517 AV56 150/70ZR18 (70W) 4.25 4.00 - 4.50
  12. ill throw my input into the mix. its about style. not saying victorys arent good looking, but the typical people who buy harleys want that old school retro looking bike, looks and feels heavy and has "character" this "character" i speak of would be the unsettling vibration, harsh riding, loud, and heavy as hell. victory bikes are superior in performance, they have better suspension (who doesnt have better suspension than harley), usually make more power, and usually are lighter. but they look to "futuristic" to most. i have ridden victory's version of the street glide, very nice bike, better handling, better road manners, quieter, no weird engine noise, more balanced, and in my opinion more reliable. but i do prefer the look of my old street glide over they victory. victory builds very nice bikes, but they wont win over the typical harley guy. never. most those guys wont take a second glance at another bike. i think victory needs to create a bike that DOESNT have that damn long tank. they but it on everything, and it just makes the lineup look very similar.
  13. awesome! like i said before in my thread stating i purchased it, i debated on getting heated gear for a long time. I got tired of layering up, restricting my movement on the bike, and still being cold in the process. I only purchased the heated jacket liner, the heat troller, and the plug to plug into my BMW style power outlet on the multistrada. it was 34 degrees today, and i figured it woulda be a nice temp to try out the liner. I put a shampa warmskin on as my base layer (its nice because it will go over your wrist and it has thumb holes, put your gloves over top that.) then my gerbings liner, and a leather jacket. started out with it half way up. pretty toasty, but after a freeway run i was getting a tad chilly, so i cranked it up full blast. VERY warm, kept my core at a great warm temp. my legs were still cold, but less cold then usual, and i had less layers (starter brand cold weather compression pants, thermal underwear, and regular old dickies) as usual i wore my schampa balaclava, with that and the high neck on the gerbings, my neck wasnt cold at all. hands were a little cold, but i was wearing some summer leather gloves. what can i say, the gerbings is amazing, and i had alot more movement. the gerbings liner itself without power to it cuts down on the wind. the bad, now i want the heated pants liner and heated gloves if your on the fence about heated gear, dont wait any longer. just take the plunge. its not cheap, but it will extend your riding season, and youll will be toasty and ready to roll. I talked to gerbings this weekend at the delear expo, great people, always ready to answer a question, and they are always improving there products anyway they can. They stand behind there products 100%.
  14. Why? If my parents would have done that stuff to me i would have hated it. Really , what happened to trust? You dont trust your son? You want video proof so if he denies it you can pin him to the wall? Not they way i would handle kids, but then again i never plan to have kids. Just seems over the top to me. But you do video EVERYTHING.
