  1. king, i can give you more information that you can probably handle. if you want you can PM me your number and i can give you a call. youll be very unsatisfied on the progressive shocks if you actually ride the bike. the only downfall on the ohlins is once you get them, youll think the front end is a piece of shit lol. i just put a review up about the race tech front end kit with gold emulators. for the money you cant beat the racetech front kit. and they compliment the ohlins pretty well. call riders discount for a great price on the race tech kit. they beat every place i checked by about $30.
  2. so after going through stock forks, bitchin baggers 1" drop kit, HD low profile fork kit, and the progressive mono tubes, i am not at the race tech fork kit with the gold emulators. so far i like them, i like the adjustability of the system, i dont like that to adjust them you have to pull the forks off to pull the emulator to make an adjustment. i have had the forks off about 3 times now tuning the suspension. a little advice, whatever the directions say for the preload spacer, forget about it. youll need more preload. im using the 64# spring on the emulator with 4 turns on the adjuster. i think i may need to back it off some thinking 1/2 to a full turn. its a little stiff over sharp bumps and i may add another 1/8 - 1/4 of preload. my main complaint about all the other setups (aside from the hd profile kit) was the front would wallow in corners. which is a result of not enough preload i found out. i had the mono tubes maxed out on preload and it still wallowed in the corners. hell it would even wallow on the highway over some bumps, and would get crazy on tar strips. the HD profile kit isnt a bad kit, but it was so super stiff it was unbearable. i contribute this to the only way to increase or decrease dampening is to use heavier or lighter weight oil. also the progressive spring doesnt help. i could actually feel the suspension get past the soft spring rate into the heavier spring rate which gave an unpredictable feeling in corners. the race tech kits linear spring rate, that is matched to my weight, along with the adjustable emulator does a pretty good job of keeping the tire planted and making cornering the bike more predictable and more pleasant. again though doing the adjustments is time consuming and takes patience to get it right, but in the end i should be satisfied for the short term. in the end ill be picking up the traxxion dynamics kit probably over the winter. so for the money and the products out there in that price range, i feel the race tech kit is your best bet for a controllable ride that will be confidence inspiring in the corners.

  6. i use the 3m mounts.. they dont come off that bad when you want to remove them. but they arent as bulky as the suction mount, and you can put them in alot of places and swap the camera to each mount. iron pony has a grab bag of mounts you can get for under $20 if you want more, or different mounting options.
  7. my brother law is vice president of the supplement company Muscle Pharm. they are up for best supplement of the year on bodybuilding.com if you could, take a few minutes and vote! it takes about 2 minutes to vote, youll vote for all the muscle pharm products in each category, if muscle pharm isnt in a specific category, you can either not vote on that category or vote for something else. id greatly appreciate it, and he will as well. at the end youll have to put your name and email, if you dont want to put your real name and email you dont have to.. jsut make something up. and if you can vote more than once thats cool too. just post up if you have voted and if more than once let me know too. me and my wife are trying to get him as many votes as possible. thanks! go here to vote http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/supplement-awards.html

  13. weight is also a factory, your bike weighs more than any newer sportbike. gearing is probably different etc. etc.
  14. i have the stock seat off a street glide that has no cover. i was gonna trim the foam up some to try something out with it. id love to have it covered. if you mess it up, no skin off my back as i have a seat for my bike already. this was just gonna be little experiment for me. Pm me if you want to cover it. we can set something up
  15. heres the deal, id like to take as many back roads as possible, but i know when it comes down to it, to do the miles you will have to do some highway. hell just to get out of columbus to some good roads your gonna have to run highway to be efficient. now my thoughts are finding some good 2 lane with some nice sweepers for most of the route, but id like to throw in some roads, routes with some tighter stuff as well. but we gotta keep in mind time frame for the miles, and traffic might be thick in some of those 2 lane roads. going from little town to little town is gonna kill us on miles/time its all about the route, and what we can do. my main thing is i really dont want to areas ive already been. but i will if thats the routes we have to take. id love to head south west if possible, or north east suggestions on routes would be great. im looking to do this before the end of september main thing is whoever is going all have to be on the same page, as far as pace and what not. doenst matter what your riding as long as no one gets above there head, and we all keep everyone else in mind.
  16. Ss1000? Im not sure what that means. You saying 1000 miles first day i assume.
  17. So i was thinking, i need to organize an iron butt style ride. 2 days 1400+ miles. Dont know where to or when, but if theres enough interest ill get it in the works. It would be over a weekend. Whos in?
  18. info on the roads you traveled if you would.. i have been wanting to ride into maine
  19. just got these shocks in and on the bike, i got the sag adjusted as best i could on my own. gonna need a 2nd person to help me out, especially when i dial them in with the wifey on the back. i did a little test ride, and holy shit! these things are amazing, even with a sorry ass excuse for an initial setup. the tire just keeps in contact with the road. bumps are waaaaay less harsh, i was pretty much aiming for rough spots to test them out. so far im very pleased with them in my short test run.. the real truth will be when the wife is on the back. she will be the ultimate judge of comfort. ill be the judge of how they handle and how the stability and control is.
