  1. always have one in the chamber.. you wont have much time in a situation.. and if you have to rack a round in the chamber it might cost your life
  2. only time will tell i guess i mean i had to replace the drive belt already, but it wasnt a reliability issue.. it was the ground wire was mis routed and touching the belt which frayed the belt and wire. now that could have been like that from the factory, or something the previous owner did by accident.. who knows.. but it hasnt left me stranded yet, it doesnt leak any fluids yet, and it hasnt had any major part failures yet.. but i am expecting something to go wrong lol.. i mean yeah im not as confident about the bike reliablity wise as any other bike ive owned, but my thoughts may change after a few thousand miles.. so far ive put only 1300 miles on the thing so i cant really be sure how its gonna be yet. i think the newer harleys are leaps above the early 2000 and prior models, in reliablity areas.. but again i cant speculate totally yet cause i havent had a the bike long enough yet.
  3. VFR all the way.. you can get a 02 up VFR for $3600 - $6000 in good shape you just gotta do alot of searching i loved my 03 VFR with ABS i will have another one day
  4. now that i think about it i think i am. maybe not, maybe there is some innactive users that have them. just wondering i guess.. all you damn sportbike guys BTW a 3 month update on the street glide.. LOVE IT! it doesnt handle like a sport bike obviously, but it does handle fairly well for a big bike that can put the miles on. i have ground the floorboards off quite a bit so far.. i had to make a little more ground clearance so i can throw it over a little bit more now. im loving the stereo on the bike for long rides.. just cant beat it. and the wife obviously loves it.. the less complaints from her the better off i am. its by far one of my top favorite bikes i have owned.. probably second, only to my VFR. which i think i may eventually have to get another VFR.. down the road one day ill have another.
  5. as some know harley touring bikes have a wobble lol i have felt the death wobble yet, but i have experinced the almost detached feeling of the back half of the bike.. high speed stablility isnt the best, going over cracks or pavement sealer the bike would love to track.. i mean i have had bikes that track before, but not the front wheel track, then the rear wheel track differently. it just didnt feel solid and tied together like a bike should. after alot of research on several products i pulled the trigger on the Progressive Suspension Touring Link this is a great little piece for the money. it really stiffens the bike up, and i can run 80+ down the interstate and the bike feels rock solid. it feels alot more stable in the corners as well, i have alot more confidence in the bike now. if anyone here has a 08 or earlier touring harley, definately take a look at the touring link.. its well worth the money
  6. yeah 883 is to small.. get a 1200 or look into a Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki you can get something 1000cc or bigger for the same price as an 883
  7. thank you guys for stopping by!
  8. no problem! thanks for stopping by
  9. i called them today to see about some parts for the Street Glide.. there web site doesnt have alot of stuff listed that they can get, so i figured id call them. HOLY SHIT!! can they blow everyone else out of the water on pricing!! i didnt order yet, but i will be tomorrow, i had a few more things i need to look up haha.. i spoke to mike he is a great guy and very helpful.. and the discount they give forum members is insane.. i know where ill be shopping at from now on
  10. what are you looking to have done?
  11. figured id throw a few pics of some of the powder work ive been doing.. these are a set of fork lowers from a Harley Sportster.. took alot of blasting to get the pitting off and get them all nice and ready for powder, but they came out great. first pic is one after blasting and the other side finished. and both complete Here is Conn E Rott's Two Brothers Magnesium Exhaust End caps from his ZX14 they were peeling and chipped a little bit.. i stripped them and then blasted them.. then on with some hi temp flat black powder.. here they are stripped and complete and even though he already posted it.. i did the rear sets, pegs, passenger pegs, brackets, shift linkage, brake pedal, etc off OSUYZFR1's 09 R1.. did them in flat black parts after blasting and after powder
  12. thanks.. i love the denim silver.. probably my favorite color harley has put out. and the blacked out stuff makes it really pop the fender is stock height aside from maybe 1/8th inch i had to tilt it down in the front so the tire wouldnt rub in the rear of the fender the bike has been lowered 1.5" in the front (had an inch lowering kit, but with the 21 i had to go another 1/2 inch to even it out), and an 1" in the rear the wheel really sets it off but now i kinda want to get the matching rear wheel in an 18" you cant really see the rear wheel and thats why i didnt get it already, but the more i think about it, the more i want it now lol.. plus with the 18" rear, the wheel will be about 3/4 wider, and i can run a little bit wider tire and my tire selection will be better and i can get something with a better profile for the twisties

  20. got my 21 and matching rotors in today from Southern Motorcycle Works.. its a Elite Black Sabath ...and got it thrown on the bike.. really sets the bike off.. its was in desperate need of the wheel. and i modified the front fender to bring it down in the front a bit also to help clearance the 21. what yall think?
