  1. I've noticed that when I go over a speedbump or a seam in the asphalt that got thrust up over the winter that my bike bounces up off of it. I am about 175-185 with gear id imagine. All settings are stock. I know I need to dial this thing in, but I figure I can do change this and see if it does anything for me.
  2. Yeah, looking to upgrade. I just would rather find a private party that is close than wait for something to ship to me. Ive got SS lines and new pads. Dont think im going to screw with the calipers. I figure might as well get a new MC while im at it.
  3. I need a new Master Cylinder for my F4i. Anyone got one lyin around?
  4. Im not a swimmer unless its a pool. We just wanted to jump in and cool off. Huntington is out past Edgewater on the west side. I think a better beach is Mentor headlands. Its out near the Perry powerplant (east side)
  5. I had my tires mounted today and got them back on the bike. After a long, hot day of "wrenching" we decided to go to Huntington Beach. Get out there and the beach is closed and its starting to rain. Made it back to Lakewoodish before the freeway was gettin wet (spray). Made it home before the bad stuff got here. Pulled in the driveway just as it started to rain. Hope nobody got caught in it. We should all play hookey and skip work one day and go to the beach when it is hot out. There were herds of vagina.

    6/14 Ride

Ive got my new rubber so I will probably be riding.
  7. Ill be in for that also. Right not ive got my bike wheel-less and hanging in the garage. Cant wait for the new rubber.
  8. Yeah, in my cage I will proceed through as soon as it turns green. On the bike I always wait. It may look like I'm slow or uncomforable but I always look to make sure there is people stopped and nobody flying up to an empty (for them) intersection. There is no point to racing from a light. Sometimes I will do it if I know all the traffic is stopped. I see people not paying attention to that leaving lights and it makes me shake my head. Along with all bikers that pull right up to someones bumper.
  9. I was on the freeway heading out towards hopkins (480 W) and I saw a bike in my mirrors. I looked behind at him and he pulls up next to me and does a standup wheelie for a bit then sets it down and rides llike a buck twenty around a bunch of traffic and is gone. The funny part was that I had the retro daytona in yellow on, and he had the blue. So I got off at Grayton Road, made a right onto Brookpark. and I was at the light that in infront of Nasa, right before the bridge over Valley Parkway. I was in the curb lane, not really payin attention to what was around me and I heard this car rev. I heard it hissing and new it had to be something boosted. I leave easy, but we both open it up a little , got maybe to 45 or 50, I wasnt payin attention, diddnt want to race on the street or anything. It ended up being an EVO 8. We were just cruising and then Brookpark Road goes under the freeway and it is like 12 lanes of bridge, its pretty long. So we were pacing each other and both drop a gear, then as soon as we got to the bridge we both hit it. I wasnt really pushin it that much and I knew could be faster. I only got like 3000 miles on it so I still got allot more riding to do. That was the first time I had gotten it on really and I have to say, it was a rush. My heart was thumpin after that. I definetly would love to do some drag racing. Even more so though I want to get on a road course.
  10. I found a product called Ride-on TPS. It is a gel like liquid you put in your tires. It will seal punctures up to 1/8th inch, and also acts as a dynamic wheel balancer. The gel heats up and spreads in the tire and it helps smooth vibrations. Its 41 bucks, but definetly worth the peace of mind. I am gonna call around today and see how much I can get tires for and how much they charge to install tires.
  11. Id rather take the tires in myself. Atleast then I can clean the chain and sprockets and everything else while im in there.
  12. 309 shipped. Gotta call a shop and see what they charge.
  13. Yeah, a good plug should be made from the inisde. If I have to take the tire off might as well get a new one on. I might ride my cousins Harley in the run. I found Michelin PP 2CT's for 258. I dont think shipped. Any better place or price?
  14. So today I was riding to an eye appointment. Went through an intersection and heard a "Pop". I thought it was just a rock or something. I get to the place and when I come out my bike feels weird. Look at the tire and it is wayyy low. "F%$K!". I got to an Autozone and bought a plug kit. Put in a plug and walked across the street to RADAIR. I talked to the manager and he was nice enough to let me use their air for the tire. He even had a portable air charger. Awesome. Plugged the tire, got the air tank and filled it up. It leaked a little bit but I decided to go for it. My friend rode with me the whole time flashing hazard lights. Made it home and the tire had 31 PSI. I tore the plug out and re-plugged it, this time using two plugs. For the locals, It happened at 130th and Pearl. Had to ride to Broadview/Brookpark. I need a new front tire and now I need a rear too. At least now it is a easy decision whether to stick with the rear brand or go two new ones. Might as well change it up to a stickier tire. I have Pirelli Diablo/Strada on it now. I am gonna look into new rubber soon. The worst thing is that the Teddybear run is Sunday. I don't want to miss it, and I don't want to pay a shop to do the work, I want to bring in the tires. I don't have stands though. So this is going to be difficult. Maybe I will do one tire at a time. I hope that this plug job sets up well and it holds good air. I figure I will let it cure for a while and I can air it up and let it sit for at least one day to see if it leaks any. I figure as long as I make it to the run I'll be okay, they usually have a truck and trailer that follows for anyone that broke down. I know this topic has been done before so I am going to be doing some searching, but anyone running a plugged tire now? How long have you ran your plugged tire. I know it can be done, and I know people have put very many miles on plugged tires. I wouldnt push it on the expressway or in the twists, but as long as it gets me 12 hours of riding on Sunday I think it will be alright. I also ran a inner-tube in my ex250 for 4 or 5 thousand miles. Got a nail in my new tire and tubed it, I don't know if that affects the tire though. Anyone have experience or wisdom on that front? I will be doing a burnout on this tire until it gets flat at least. Thats the only way I would ever do one and I might as well smoke the tire if it is ruined. Maybe I can keep it for a spare, that would probably be smarter. It has allot of meat on it still. Here is a picture of the puncture and the offending sheet-metal screw. Also pictured is his good friend, Mr. Valve tappet (At least I think thats what it is.) Pulled that out from under the valve cover of my EX250 the other day. That explains why it wasn't running well. Also pulled out a washer or something that goes on-top of the spring, Don't know the status of the valve, the one piece is missing a little chunk. Gotta find the nut that was on-top though. Can anyone recommend a good place to get tires? Or a tire preference?
  15. Are the SV's FI or carburated? I dont know why a person would set the idle that high. If it wont idle than there is some other problem, and raising the idle is like putting a bandaid on a bulletwound. On all my bikes (Kaw and Honda) the idle adjust was on the left side. Usually it is a thumbscrew or plastic thing you need to turn. Make sure the bike is warmed up, because the idle will change once it is in operating temperature if you lower it cold. I would also change the oil, ya never know if it was done. Look over the bike when you clean it to check things. I wouldnt doubt that whoever messed up the idle messed up something else also.
  16. So the actual race is on Sunday? I just planned on finding a spot with a view of the course and parking/ sitting there.
  17. Not sure whats goin on. I dont make promises. Its a possibility.
  18. Maybe we could go somewhere for lunch or somethin.
  19. I was kicking around the idea of going to Detroit to check out the Air Races on May 31st / June 1st. I dont really want to buy tickets, I would rather find somewhere to park and watch from there. I know my friend said he wanted to go. I dont know if im gonna take off Monday or do it on Sunday. If anyone is interested than post up. Edit: The 31st is a Saturday and the 1st is a Sunday. The first is the Teddybear run. If I go it will more than likely be on saturday
  20. hah. yeah. Is it possible to ride too much?
  21. Im in. I'll pm you peoples my cell number.
  22. When ya guys gonna be at the QSL in Sheff?
  23. im down to ride. Dont know when I wont be unavailable. I would like to go southern ohio or western PA but i dont know if I can commit that much time.
  24. There are a few ways to get a key cut. The best thing to do is to have a set made when you recieve your OEM (plastic/rubber) key. Keep that key for an original and use copies. The more copies of a copy you get made, the less accurate the key would become until you cant use it any more. When you loose your keys you can get a locksmith to make a key from your ignition. You can also take the key code and use that to look up the pattern in a book and cut a new OEM key. This usually costs a good amount of money. You can find your key code in the ignition and lock cylinders of most bikes. My EX250 had the code punched in my key also. I got 3 copies of my key made the other day for like 6 bucks or somethig. maybe 8. They (An experianced locksmith) did not have the blank for my friends 650R. Sometimes you need to get the blank from a dealership and then have it cut. But the bottom line is that unless you loose all your keys, you shouldnt pay to have a code key cut. It will always be more expensive than gettin a copy of an existing one. Not to mention, that unless you know your key code from when you bought the bike, it may be a pain to retrieve it. On my Ninja 250 it was easy, right behind the seat lock. On my honda though, you need to go into the trunk key cylinder or the ignition. Remember to always check all keys in all locks to make sure the key works.
