  1. Nice Intro, and welcome to the site. Be prepared for the rotary hate on this site.
  2. nice pick-up Derek! I'd be interested to run against the FD on your pump gas tune. On the e-85 I don't think there'd be much hope for me.
  3. Not mine, but mine's essentially the same without the extended cab. http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_images/1/2205/3341/5511670001_large.jpg 240,000 miles and going strong.
  4. Looks good. What mount did you use for your fire extinguisher?
  5. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/Tag.jpg Forgive my hairy ass wrist.
  6. avoid the 2nd gen TL's like you have listed....they were plagued by transmission problems.
  7. As others here have noted, anything fast for the price range you're describing is going to likely be a giant headache and eat up your next 5 years tax returns too. You could buy a FC or MKIII and keep it as a fun car, that way when it breaks you're not out of transportation when you need it. If you're looking for a fun car that can be reliable, look at e30's as mentioned. You could probably get into an e36 for the price, but it may end up costing you an arm and a leg by the time you fix it up.

Welcome to Thunderdome. Completely jealous of your model A's.
  9. I've had one for about 3 1/2 years. I always caution people against buying one and here's why...it's what I call the tempur pedic curse.... As others have mentioned it takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do, that first 3 months with it is just like the infomercial...you'll feel like angels whispered you to sleep at night and wake up feeling great. Then after that, you don't really notice it, which is the mark of a good bed; you go to bed, you wake up, and you're ready to go. Where the curse comes into play is anytime you go away from your home. Doesn't matter if it's a nice hotel, or at a friend's house with a nice guest bed, you're going to wake up pissed off at the fact you weren't at home in your tempur pedic bed! You can take a great vacation, but in the end you're just going to wake up and say....I can't wait to get home and sleep in my bed! So don't say I didn't warn you. My advice is to put a piece of plywood between your current mattress and box spring and get used to that. Then you'll be able to sleep anywhere and truly enjoy going places.
  10. are you talking MKIV and FD? That's one hell of a tax return.... you may want to consider changing your witholdings.
  11. watches cleaned up nicely bob. How's the cape cod cloth at taking out minor scratches? I've also seen the stuff where they give you different grit compounds and they claim it to be the best at getting out all scratches, but I'm not sure I'm a believer.
  12. Looks like a cool-ass trip. How long were you there? Great pics too.
  13. I watched it after Chris posted it the first time. Definitely some crazy stuff in there.
  14. http://www.northernappraisal.com/ That's who I used to appraise my wife's wedding ring when we insured it. They were prompt and informative. Just call to make an appointment. They gave me all the paperwork needed for my ins policy. Come to think of it, I need to get an updated appraisal done. Now, with watches, I'm not sure if it'd be better to go to a place like Diamond Cellar or not. I don't know if they'd appriase it so much as just give you a lowball buy figure. You may have to call on that one and see, but I'd think they're a bit more watch-focused than just a general appraiser would be.
  15. I got a standard-def one before the HD versions came out. Honestly I haven't used it as much as I wanted to, but it's cool to play with. As mentioned the sound sucks, but at least it's not SUPER WINDY like most of the in car videos you see anyway. The case and mounting are cool and work really well. That suction cup mount will stick through just about anything you can throw at it. I've tested it to speeds faster than I'm willing to post here. Supposedly the new HD versions have capability to add on external mics, which would be the best solution.
  16. Welcome to the site. I could have sworn you were on here before though.
  17. Welcome. I say just throw the Caddy motor in the truck and drive it as-is.
  18. looks clean Michael. Congrats.
  19. really really tempting...but i need another car like i need a hole in the head.
  20. Welcome to the site. Hope the GTU is still rotary. Be prepared for a TON of rotary hate on this site, but it's all in good ls-fanboi fun.
  21. http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z56/kutschca/omega.jpg I know it's dirty as hell. I've been meaning to clean it.
  22. Welcome to the site. If you made it through this, then you'll fit in just fine. Given your day job and experience with Honda, why did you not choose a Honda vehicle or power plant?
  23. exactly the same for me. Sam, if you're mostly into enjoying music on the piano, then buy one of the newer ones that plays by itself based on MIDI programs.
