  1. Sounds like a plan. Will be prompt or won't be there. :-)
  2. I'd like to try to make this, but I won't be riding too aggressively. Subscribed.
  3. So far so good. Def like the cop feature. Not sure what I'm supposed to see if someone in the OR group is around?

    Baconator

Homestyle chicken go wrap is about the only thing I eat at Wendy's anymore... And I agree about the location in downtown Gahanna. Right across from creekside. Nice service.
  5. JohnG59. Might play with it a little more after work.

    Is it just me?

I've noticed... I just figure they're in a hurry to stop so they can get back to texting... On a side note about the sensors in the road, I stopped at a light the other day that didn't sense my bike. The car behind stopped two car lengths back, also not tripping the sensor. I had to turn around and waive them up to me pointing at the sensor in the road so the light would change. Good thing I've got a smoke visor so they couldn't see me mouthing "move the fuck up, dumb ass"
  7. For anyone interested in recurves and longbows, or seeing a few vendors for arrow and hunting supplies, I would highly recommend a trip to Jackson, Ohio over the Labor Day Weekend. The Ohio Society of Traditional Archers (OSTA) holds the end of year State Shoot on this weekend and it's a great time. Plenty of folks selling bows, vendors, free camping, good food, two thirty target 3D courses, and commanderie in a family friendly environment. http://www.tradarchers.org/default.aspx
  8. If you searched my house you'd find "survivalist gear" and I did some time in the military... And, if I were that intent on seeing this movie and felt that concerned that someone would try a repeat of Colorado, I would position myself where I had the best tactical advantage over the perpetrator and be defensively armed. His choice of seats seems to be the closest to the quickest exit/escape if the SHTF. Innocent until proven guilty.
  9. No, not the banks fault. Really just a matter of buying before thinking of the impact on other things - like school, etc. I don't mean to be a tease...
  10. Not mine. Posting for a friend at work. There's a story, but not worth repeating here. Has no bearing on the quality of the bike. Here's the c-list: http://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/3189552531.html

    Sag session

I'd be in for this and gladly pay for the service. I like the meet and greet idea. Wonder if the Pony would allow the use of part of their parking lot for free? I know they have a service department and that could be a sticky point, but they probably wouldn't mind the temptation their retail business offers to a bunch of riders showing up in the parking lot. Maybe?
  12. Recurve man myself. Shot competitively with compound from 94 to about 02 and got bored with it. Picked up a stickbow and never went back. Still have my PSE compound hunting rig but rarely shoot it. Find a good club near you and join. Especially if they have a 3d course that you can shoot on your own. I wouldn't waste my time at a compound 3d shoot. Too many people and too many delays between targets. Good luck and have fun!

    vodka

Best cheap vodka I've found is Tito's. Made in Austin, TX. Best vodka for mixed drinks for me is Skyy. Best vodka for drinking on the rocks (just enough to chill it, in a snifter) is Oyo. Gin makes me mean.
  14. These! Bates are the best boots I've found. I dress business casual but can't stand frickin dress shoes. Been wearing boots of one sort or another since '89 when I got out of the service. Wearing Bates Sport Tacticals now for the last year. No sign of giving up or wearing out. Impressive. Got them from Shoebuy.com. Listed size is accurate for your size foot. http://www.galls.com/style-SP498-general_catalog-bates-mens-8-inch-steel-toe-zipper-boot;jsessionid=9BBE3CB76F3F23152093CA86AC75492D
  15. +1 for a J-town Johnny. Good job! One less douche bag cluttering up the already douche'd up judicial system.
  16. Nice! Thanks for the post!
  17. That was weird... posted identical thread twice... Not My Fault! I swear to God! :-) So, anyway! I'm ready for a ride! Let's go!
  18. Well, I couldn't stand it any longer. I finished putting Cindy back together last weekend and had taken a couple brief shakedown rides on her. But really needed to get her out and scuff up the new PR3's a little (thanks to Hoblick for the new shoes!). So, heat be damned, I left the house about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, the 5th. Slabbed out 16 east from the house to 79. Cruised up 79 thru some very moderate twisties to 541 and headed back west. Quickly caught up to an SUV and a big rig tanker. Told myself, this is a joy ride, no reason to pass on a two lane. But the SUV seemed to know I was back there. Stayed back from the tanker and favored the right side of the lane, as if to give me the better view. And then there was a downhill and a straightaway... Clear visibility. No cross roads. I was in fourth and firmly rolling on the throttle before I even realized it. The acceleration is intoxicating. The TBR pipe is throaty and loud enough without being obnoxious. I grabbed fifth as I passed the cab of the tanker and rolled it on for good measure. Back across the center line and noted my speed was closing on a hundred. Clicked back into 6th and immediately eased off the throttle. Back down to the lower sixties where I belonged. 541 turns into 62 in Martinsburg and the twisties were gone... Paused briefly after crossing 13 in Utica to check the cell phone. Momma's not been doing too good lately and I needed to make sure she hadn't been calling. It was heating up pretty good by this time and I was ready to get home and hit the pool. A traffic jam in downtown Johnstown put the radiator and cooling fan to the test as I sat and sweltered in neutral. Two cagers were tangled up and a cop was directing traffic. Home shortly thereafter. Right around 100 miles and two hours for the trip. Very impressed with the VFR's handling. Ready for a little cooler weather and more riding! Next trip maybe down to the Wayne?

  20. Good to know... Thanks!
  21. Just curious and not wanting to be too personal, but what's your combined weight? I'm already at 220 myself and trying to figure out settings for my VFR rear shock. Also, was it hard for her to get on and off? That's always been the most awkward time for me with riders...
  22. GLWS. Great old bikes! Practically bullet proof motors in the GS. Not that I'm interested, but how many miles? The electronic ignition is a GREAT mod. A Honda RR upgrade would finish it off!
