  1. Would it be too simplistic to suggest cell backup for your home alarm system?
  2. 93.3 has been playing Christmas music for a week or more already. It's just too damn soon...
  3. Greetings! Make yourself at home.
  4. Just do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCGaQMgkzw8
  5. I'm personally not a fan of standing on one side of the bike and trying to power it up onto a trailer. I've always rode mine up, but my trailer is low and has a big wide ramp. I also have one of these bolted in front http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-wheel-chock-97145.html And for what it's worth, I've never had an issue using ratcheting straps. If you release one side at a time with the kick stand down like they show in the video it's no big deal.
  6. Grab too much brake at 50 seconds? Coming across a car at a hard turn like that will make your asshole bite down on the seat.
  7. Isn't there a troll smilie?
  8. Well, I tried to hook up with some other folks on here, but because of my church commitments I didn't leave New Albany until 1:30 this afternoon. Decided to steal a few legs off a ride that Blitz posted up http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.c...r/share/512376 Thought that I might catch the group if I rode straight out 161/16 to 60 and headed south from there. It never happened, but I had a hell of a good ride anyway. 60 was ok. Picked up 208 in Dresden and almost immediately got behind about 20 harley's. Bunch of Geezer-glides and a couple trikes. The last bagger in the procession (the one immediately in front of me) kept riding his brakes and it was getting pretty annoying. Amazingly enough, I had an opening where I could pass them all in one shot and safely. The Viffer was howling by the time I passed the lead bike. I never saw them again. East on 93 out of Adamsvile - pretty tame road here - until I hit 83 and hung a ralph. 83 was Awesome. Especially after passing under 70 and heading further south. Definitely a good road for two up, have to take the wifey out there next year. Picked up 78 and headed west to McConnellsville. Looked like a few sport bikes at the Blue Bell but I wasn't interested in stopping to see who it was. It was already 3:30 and I was beginning to regret not bringing the liner for the jacket. Gassed up and headed out 669. 669 was the worst condition of any of the ride. Gravel scattered in turns, grass and leaves being blown onto the road by homeowners, and more than a few dead squirrels in the road - and always it seemed at the lead into a turn. By the time I hit 13 I was beginning to shiver and hit the slab for home. Hope we get more riding days soon! This was a great day!
  9. Anybody in the group use Waze and belong to the Ohio Riders Group? Could be an interesting way to intercept the group if it works...
  10. I'll be out that way after church. Should be in the vicinity around 1 ish. If I see you stopped anywhere for a break I'll say hey.
  11. Microwave - check Wall clock - check Thermostat - check Wife's morning BJ reminder - shit. still not working.
  12. I've looked on ebay but never bought one. The whole notion of buying something like a bike from out of town without being able to inspect it in person doesn't appeal to me. On the other hand, all of my bikes AND my truck were found on c-list...

    Hello

Is it chilly in here? :welcome:
  14. I love welcome threads. They's some damn funny shit.
  15. Damn it... I don't "need" another riot gun or 870 for that matter... But pics could temp me.
  16. Yeah, I'm sure you're right. And I'm not as worried about laying it down as I am pinning it against a tree. The "driveway" is really just a gravel and stone path that he poured thru the woods and then drove on it for the past 25 years. It's a cool ass place, no frills, good hunting. Thanks for all the input. I'm no dirt biker, and I love the viffer too much to fuck it up.
  17. There's some nice riding roads in the Sugar Grove area (on 33 on the way to Hocking Hills if you didn't know), so I've got selfish reasons for riding the bike down.
  18. Can't leave my bike up by the road. Can't see it from his house - afraid the country folks would snatch it.
  19. This is what I was most concerned about...
  20. Ok, so this is probably stupid... But here's the deal. A buddy of mine near Sugar Grove lives in a house that has a long, rather steep drive that's mostly gravel with a lot of the larger stones in it. I usually put my car in first gear, just to keep from riding my brakes. I've been wanting to stop in and visit him on the bike (he has health issues) but I'm really concerned about navigating DOWN the driveway. I want to have both feet down for stability, so that negates using the back brake alone, and I'm thinking the front brake would be a recipe for disaster. What if I kill the engine and use the clutch to brake the rear end? Helpful advice needed, please.
  21. On my bike, both the left AND right controls need rebuilt and cleaned. My headlight hi/lo sometimes kills the headlights altogether when switching between the two (real exciting on dark country roads) and the kill switch can cut my motor without fully operating the switch. I'll be doing that maintenance this winter. My 83 GS550 Suzuki had a bad starter button. Poor contacts and a slight drop in battery voltage made for unpredictable starting. You need to take apart the right hand control and clean it before jumping to any other conclusions about charging, etc. Start with the easy basic stuff first! True, there is a history on viffers with charging systems and you can always do the VFRness upgrade if you haven't already. Good luck!
  22. Thanks for the comment. I'm still doing my research. There's three of us that will take a course together and I've been nominated to gather info and put together a recommendation.
