i think jcroz might be one of those guys who posts the really funny questions on yahoo answers that gets religious people all riled up, but he posts squid questions on our forum instead.

all the slopes in ohio are pretty much the same...small. i wouldnt drive all the way from cinci to go to mad river.

they have a bunch of snow machines and will pump out snow when temps are consistently below freezing. you can always check their website for information about opening day, # of trails open and new snow etc...

yeah i tried skiing last year at mad river. i could go down any hill the first try, but it wasnt pretty. i thought boarding was more fun, but ive always wanted to board since i was a little kid.

its the best place to ski in ohio imo. also a great place to learn at since they have a good progression of trails.

craigslist is another really good place to find gear. winter sports equipment is like the first thing to go when people need cash to pay those sub prime loans they took out.

honestly its not really worth a group trip to mad river, but mad river is a good place to learn at. it would be better to set up something for a place further north or west oh and if you got frustrated skiing, snowboarding is harder to pick up and go down the hill. but if you keep coming back to the board, youll be rewarded. ill be back next winter and ready to go with the OR snowboard posse
