  1. pro tip: mobil1 4t racing is $9 at autozone.
  2. doesnt even look like the same guy...hooray for makeup!
  3. i just gave up and started filling up around 100-120 miles...still better gas mileage than the alternative. it is a supersport bike youre riding after all...not an economobile.
  4. sorry there postcop...the 1098R displaces 1198 cc, just like the 1198 motor, but not like the 1098s, or 1098.
  5. hey all, for those that know me, im having an open house next sunday (april 5, day after dyno day) starting at approx. noon going to dark or so. im providing burgers and hot dogs and soft drinks and snacks, all you have to do is show up, maybe even ride here (neighbors would love me ). im leaving for iraq april 14, and should be gone until like june of next year. details: starts at noon, goes till dark, or whenever people leave (open house type deal, just stop by anytime) hosted at my parents house, map thats about it. let me know if you are interested in coming, so i can have enough food.
  6. glad to see you made it on the forum. post up and itnro thread
  7. the 1098R is an 1198 motor...just in case there was any confusion.
  8. rock that 1098! or even better, their new streetfighter, since you already have a fully faired race bike
  9. i noticed this when i first got my bike too. for a while i was getting well over 40, now i average just below 40mpg. its probably just riding more stop and go traffic miles, and some WOT stuff. wouldnt worry about it unless it goes under 30.
  10. thats why im fine with keeping it if i dont get what i want out of it.
  11. if youre going to finance...just go to the dealer and sit on all the bikes. most people here have some sort of restricted budget which makes shopping for a bike difficult.
  12. so let me see if my logic works right here... cows strangely & meticulously killed, nobody is crazy enough to do that, must be UFOs. got it.
  13. well i got one, my mom had a couple she would rather not have. now i gotta figure out how to season them properly and maintain them....
  14. im going to iraq....april 14th.

  15. i think sam is referring to all the bikes youve listed as having ridden. a price range youre trying to stick to would be helpful in the choice. plus, most of the bikes i mentioned are more standard like the ninja650...not so much back pain.
  16. +1 on the ninja. also look at SV650, FZ6, FZ6R (new so prolly out of your price range)...and i guess thats all i can think of. the xb12 is kinda a lot of bike to handle as your first. the same cannot be said of the sportster which is sad as it used to be THE performance bike. also with the triumphs you might be looking at expensive service costs for parts etc...and the harleys...well...nuff said. oh a kawasaki z750 might be a nice bike too. and possibly an old F4i, but those are kinda hard to come by as theyre nice bikes. a DRZ400SM might also be a good bike in the same price range if you can dig supermotos.
  17. its been happening a lot to me too. ive had a few "serious" buyers.
  18. and the GS500 isnt worth much... my bike is still for sale.
  19. and cheap. thats the important part.
  20. so why do you want chrome?
  21. so now we have 4 red 04 R6's on the forum....time for me to get a new bike
