Yup, they are RTR... Ben- Yup, caught that... I am asking my Kaw dealer for a price. Who pays retail anymore?? -
Why are you ditching this setup? Especially if it is dialed in?

*NOW AVAILABLE* Limited Edition Traxxas Slash Kawasaki RC Car @ Schiets!

Are these the 2.4 short course versions that retail for $249 direct from Traxxas or the 4x4 versions which would be a KILLER deal? -
Use the XR/CRF 50 idea or TTR50. I echo the TTR issues as we had one as a pit bike and for my oldest son and the battery issue sucked donkey nuts. KLX110 is a bit of a stretch for a new rider, but nothing seriously big. I'd really stick with the 50 as it can be modded to fit bigger. The issue you have is that the 7-ish age range is just starting to fit into that KLX110 or KX/RM 65 size range. Unfortunately, you are boarder line, but getting an XR/CRF 50 will allow you to not get hurt when you go to sell it if they need to step up. CRF70 is a good choice, but poor resale as more people want either a 50 or a 110. The 70 ends up having to sell at 50 prices and if you can get one for that, grab it. Would be best in size, but not much smaller than a 110. 110s have a better resale bracket...

I understand the resistance for sure, but the reality is that if there was a step from smaller bikes to bigger bikes based on age, experience, etc, the results would be dramatic. I hated to see kids that were 20 years old and the first bike they wanted to buy was an R1 due to the fact that the comic books stated it was the fastest sportbike that ever came about. I couldn't tell the kid to not buy it and he did. less than 3k miles later, he wadded it up and damn near got himself killed... He never bought another bike after that. Same with even the 600s. They are too much for first time riders. Now, I have seen my fair share of smart riders that learn and progress and respect the bike thy ride, but that isn't the majority. It's like sending your kid to the Mid-Ohio teen driving school vs. just letting them buy whatever car they desire and throwing them the keys. Education and experience will only help people along the way... I know we as Americans feel the Government steps in too often, but lok at cell phone use... The Government needs to step in and make laws to keep us from killing ourselves due to ignorance...

Oh, I am with you... Even at these track days - too many guys with the "bigger has to be better" mentality... What really gets me is when I get off the track and people come up to me telling me they wished they had a 1000 so they'd be faster... I offer them a chance to ride mine just to show them it ain't easy. In fact, a lot of guys on 600s can run faster times at most tracks anymore. But, unless they try it, they never know... We need to do what Europe does and have CC limits and progress riders like they do over there...

Tyler has a tech bike and pretty much any access he wants to an RC8R. Plus, there is one up there now he could grab.

The idea as what Yamaha is doing with their FZ series is what I am getting at. Use the top shelf motor, but build a naked bike. More relaxed style frame and components and it's not going to compete with the racer replica...

Uh, yeah. I know they have the resources. I also know they are smaller and aren't selling as many as they like. This is an easy to do thing to simply mod an existing model, but understand that sometimes, it doesn't work. The lines, the way it flows is completely different than the Mille version. That frame and such was different and worked with a street fighter appearance. Trust me, I know what a manufacturer can or cannot do...

Hmmmmm.... RSV4 is a thing of art and beauty. This is a monstrosity... Why does it have to look like an RSV4? Seriously, the intakes and fairing looks like the kid crashed it and then pieced it together enough to ride it until he had the cash to get it completely back to stock... I think they needed to do a different frame and create a completely different chassis and bike. Use the motor, but that's it... Well, except the obvious parts - I mean to create something that is different and not a crash repaired RSV4... This is sex...

Unless any of the roads are straight (and even that is a possible concern), these newer genration (even 08-current) 1000s are more than enough for the sport tourers... Remember, stock to stock... Now, you go and mod stuff, bikes like the 14 allow for more to be done as the base is better to build bigger, but these liter bikes in SS trim are all still 200 plus at the ground fully dependable and not even in SB trim...

So, who's got som resources for best prices on Macs?
-
I understand, but IF there is a MAP policy, no matter what they are, if they advertise anywhere, they can only advertise retail or a set % off based on the MAP policy or RSA... If they are allowed, then every dealer (non profit or otherwise) is allowed to advertise at whatever they wish. Now, maybe the non profit is violating the MAP policy and Brandon knows he cannot advertise anything less than retail and thus, the reason for PMing him... If that's the case, there's going to be an issue with the former... No matter what type of organization they are...
-
I wouldn't think so... Sharkskins wouldn't sell to a non profit... I would think you'd have to be a legit business licensed company to get on their dealer listing... If they have a MAP policy, doesn't matter if you are or not - cannot advertise below retail...
-
Tyler who? Not a crappy time at all. Have two interested buyers... Just need to get things sorted, but it is all price driven...
-
Why not? If they can be advertised as 20% off, obviously, there is no MAP policy and therefore, you can advertise whatever you want...

I got two PCs I had built and they were freakin awesome for a while. Until now at this point, I have a damn virus that doesn't allo Google and Yahoo to work and the other has a Trojan. Macs are looking damn good and from the prices, they aren't far off anymore... Anyone know the best place for Mac deals - if there are such places...?
-
Probably Jennings early in the year. I wish I could do CMP, but we have a Thanksgiving deal to go to...
-
I think it is funny how everyone blew this thing up. You guys need to lay off the weed and lay off the conspiracy theories... Vapor trail off a flight out of Hawaii... They have an image from a different angle and has the same trail... Coming at the camera and thus looks like it is climbing straight up... You guys...
-
Dude, I am stoked for you! Let's hook up at the track and get you sorted and have some fun!
-
Congrats! That's awesome man! Who did you get it from? Did they have the aftermarket triples?

Is this a legit Honda of Troy race bike? If so, there are probably unobtanium type parts in there... If it is simply a CR250 with a Troy Racing sticker kit, the bike isn't worth anything and you'd be hard pressed to get a break even amount out of the parts if you tore it down and sold them via Ebay. That being said, there are still guys riding those things and parts are getting tough to find. Ebay is the best bet, but it is going to take a while... The labor is actually pretty cheap. If there was a hole that was needing repaired, the cases need completely split and torn down and cleaned before welding. Otherwise, especially that old, oil and such are in the pours so to speak and cannot be done easily while together... Sounds like a reasonable deal. What people get shocked over is the price of labor increases over the years while their bikes depreciate. At some point, it becomes too costly to work on older bikes and it ends up being a loss...
