  1. Hmmmm... You can only buy them as a unit. The top and bottoms are usually machined together and I THINK they should be bought together... Even if you can buy that half, the labor is going to be steep. Motor needs pulled, internals pulled. Probably need to inspect and replace any worn parts - 750s are notorious for wear on the tranny parts... Also, if down to the level you are going to need done, you will need rod bolts, you will most likely need rod bearings, etc... Call Reuben at 317-850-3884 and ask these questions instead of guessing. I am pretty sure you need both and that's going to be somewhat steep... You can also ask him for a welder as he has a GREAT welder that can do the frames. That spot is going to be tough and only a solid welder is going to be able to handle getting it done and done right. Reuben is one of the top guys that knows GSXRs. That year is extremely easy to find parts for and he has more knowledge than anyone out there on these bikes. Call him tomorrow.
  2. Brandon- PM me to remind me to bring that housing...
  3. Not when you're at a sales meeting!
  4. You're not getting that fixed, man. And if someone even can do it, the cases need split to get the best weld they can. That cast case piece has oil in the pours and isn't going to weld right... Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you need new cases... You can call Reuben at 35 Motorsports and see for sure, but we've seen this damage before and it ain't gonna typically happen...
  5. Uh, she didn't... The team does ok for FT. Don't make it sound like she's Myers or something...
  6. Let's look at your scenario first. If the ground drops, it isn't wheelying. The bike doesn't change level. I suspect that there is a sensor that indicates that the front raises above "level" to a certain degree to which then tells the engine mgmt system to cut the motor to slow the rear wheel ever so quickly that you won't really even notice a lot...Dulls the engine speed to lower the front, but not slam it down... My bike doesn't have a wheelie control, but has traction control. If I run it on the "B" setting, I can come out of a corner, wheelie and actually spin the rear. As it spins, it cuts out ever so slightly. Almost feels like the motor misses slightly. Really quick, but enough to drop the front quickly as it is reducing power to the rear wheel, right? So the front drops somewhat fast... Traction and wheelie control is something that doesn't stop the forward drive, but many quick pulses that reduce the power delivery. They are so fast that they really don't cause issue because you'd be losing more speed and forward progress spinning and wheelying... With control, it does slow, but not as much as if w/o... Make sense?
  7. You can make money. It's a matter of making a profit... You can win hundreds easily by winning contingencies. Thousands if it is OEM stuff. But, the idea is unless you are at the top of the ladder, you ain't making a living doing this...
  8. Trust me, you can make money racing. The rider you used as an example (Robbie) makes 6 figures racing each year. Not this year due to lack of payouts, but you can make a living doing this and there are several bounty hunters in the US do... or did... As for being a novice racer, they too can make money. very possible, but you have to be very good and a lot are not good enough. Typically, you're going to be able to break even if you are decent, but that's rare, as well... Basically, the idea is when you start (a lot do as it is VERY accessible nowadays) racing, you get better and make the steps up the ladder. Starting out is something everyone does, but the ones that make it to a point where they race successfully at a national level is very limited and weened out by that point...
  9. The idea on wheelie control is based on the fact that with a ton of power to the ground, it is going to wheelie at times in a serious fashion with a ham fisted approach. Yes, two wheels down is faster than one, but it is not going to limit power wheelies. It's somewhat like a bank sensor where it will understand the angle of sorts and base it with the throttle input, RPMs, speed, etc and control it. So many things operating at milliseconds and faster to judge what is going on with the bike and making sure you have as much power down efficiently as possible... The thing is that a wheelie control device is only there to help you keep the bike going forward as best as possible. W/O it, the bike isn't going to be as effective and will be harder to ride fast. Today, the features they are putting on bikes make them easier to ride. Electronics help with that. Of course, the added benefit is that they can use that technology in a race setting as if the bike comes stock with it, they can race with it as many racing series do not allow any electronics like traction control unless they come stock on a bike. Those stock features can then be tuned to be as good as possible. For example, my traction control is better aftermarket than the stock setup. Mapped out and used as a tool depending on the situation makes the bike different than as stock. More people can ride these 1000s easier than ever before. It used to be that these never had such things and were even tougher to ride. Heavier, tougher to ride and somewhat rough around th edges. Now, easier, but to ride fast, they take a LOT of skill and aren't as easy as people think...
  10. My top suggestion is work on suspension first. Get propr internals, get a rear shock and go. This shit where you need all these add-ons is total BS. Look at Reub and how fast he was on a BONE STOCK GSXR 600... WITH street compound tires...
  11. Yeah, but Evans doesn't race a serious series. It should be cheaper than that... Plus, track days aren't going to get you faster... Racing does. The facts are pretty simple. If you are starting out, run the FT series for maybe a few races to get your feet wet. Then, run WERA. You are only as fast as the competition you run against. Wanna get faster and better all the while learning? Run WERA with the idea that you are going to go WERA National Series. It solely depends on what you want to do and get out of it. If you are loaded like your buddy and spend money and can afford it, run whatever you want with no expectations. However, if you want to excell and grow and advance yourself, go with a competitive series... Use track days as learning sessions to work on traffic work, segment work and slight setup work. Track days will not provide the best outlet for race practice and shouldn't be used as such. Dub, you have a LOT of guys around you that you know that have raced successfully and have ran serious programs. Ask as much as you can and we will provide the tips and guidance...
  12. You mean you are actually coming this time?
  13. By far, the Swantz school is better. Code's school is great for middle of the road learning. Never done any track stuff and wanna learn? Sure, he's a good to go school... Outside that, there's plenty more schools I'd suggest before his. Swantz, Skip Barber, Yamaha's Champion school, etc...
  14. Just plain mean... I will say, though that I believe that next year could be tough as he's getting it sorted pretty well... Problem will be if someone courts him and he moves on...
  15. Brandon- I might have a throttle body set that you can have for the bike. I just am not sure if the secondary BFs are an issue on it... Basically, you just unscrew the top butterflies and put tape over the FI light. Easy...
  16. Dude, Checa had those in the bag. By a long margin, too. I was just heartbroken for the guy... The tire issue is funny because the idea that it has such advanced electronic systems, should lend it to be a better machine in the end as it should save them better... Maybe Corser has to set it on hyper drive to keep it up front?
  17. Actually, I think it was the aliens or whatever Scientology told Keith to do... In the end, it is sponsorship. If video taped, do you honestly believe that the BMW was going to be dissed and berated? Think had Suzuki came to the table and offered more or the same and they went that route that Suzuki wouldn't have been given the same props? Code's comments are in one ear and out the other...
  18. Is that your race bike? You getting something else?
  19. Thanks to the folks that met me at Target! Anyone else, I will be able to meet after the 12th of June...
  20. Looks like Aprillia is still showing why it is the better of the two... You can blame setup, you can chime in and say it is still in infancy, etc. BUT, realize the same holds true of the Aprillia. Max and Corser are two of the best riders in the world. Corser knows how to setup and ride a motorcycle. He will propel the BMW to a win this year, I believe. However, getting another rider of lesser talent and ability to do the same thing is going to be tough...
  21. Morning is fine too. Just trying to establish a common time so I can plan. How about 10:30 at target? I also have a guy wanting the HJC shield. Anyone else?
  22. Alrighty... Going to plan on coming down to Columbus tomorrow around 10-noonish to meet some people. Here's the drill... I'm not going to meet in Pony's parking lot and sell stuff at their location. That's not fair nor professional. So, let's meet at the Target at Polaris. Or, if Pony is more ideal, we can meet at maybe the movie place just north of there or something. I prefer the Target location... So far, there's only one or two things spoken for, but nobody has really nailed down a time to meet other than Smuck girl. So, you want something? PM me and tell me if you can meet around that time frame and it's your's. I cannot hold this stuff for weeks. My garage is impossible to move around in and I am trying to rebuild a porch and got bikes to prep... I need it gone. PM me and we will work the details out. Front LP stand is spoken for and will be handled as I have a deposit. I will mark that sold. If I have spoken to you about meeting and forgot, I apologize - JUST PM ME if you can meet tomorrow...
  23. That would be alright. I don't mind smaller groups.
