  1. No idea who that is. No Mike Rosso that I know from KTM...
  2. Have no idea on that one... Maybe the Mid-Ohio person can chime in and say...
  3. Again, guys, street bikes. Not sure where the MX and off road machines are getting confused with what we were talking about. MX/off road stuff will be brought up at a later time...
  4. No. Direct from our Demo guy, he said ANYONE is allowed. I have been inviting people from all over.
  5. I understand, and am wrong on that, but they certainly aren't doing track days on their machines... You can ride a 1098R or 1198??
  6. It's what we older guys used to call "Fun runs". Great fun and way less aggressive than say enduros or GNCC style events. I just got back from the National Enduro at West Point in TN. We rode it Monday after over 500 guys raced the event. Was one of the hardest things I have ever done on a motorcycle...
  7. As far as I know, we have them and will be available... I will at least have mine... I might be able to let your buddy ride if he is serious and we don't have them. However, I am told the truck has the bikes on there and ready to go. I will confirm with corporate tomorrow...
  8. It's due to insurance guys. Sorry... Basically, KTM is doing something that no other bike company is doing at all. You cannot get a 20 minute loop on a BMW 1000R, aprillia RSVR, Duc 1098/R, etc... Hell, a Ninja ZX6R, etc is tough getting a ride on for that amount of time... If they were Ninja 250s? Maybe... It sucks, I know, but it's no different than you can get killed fighting for your country and yet, you cannot buy a beer in a bar... Rules.
  9. KTM will be holding a free demo ride event at the Mid-Ohio race track. This is free to riders that are 25 years and older and with valid motorcycle endorsements. This is a time to try out such bikes as the new RC8, 990 Super Duke, 990 SMR, 690 based machines, etc. Bring friends and family also as this is open to ANYONE that fits the requirements. There's not many street dealers in the area and this is a chance to see the bikes and even ride them and see how they feel vs. the others out there. We will be doing about a 20 minute loop and it is open as such to allow you to try a lot of bikes. We will have a lead rider and a sweeper to keep the group together and on task. It will be a great time and a great time to try bikes that are usually just available to sit on vs. test ride. Event dates are Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th. Come on up!
  10. Hey guys and gals, it is me (STT-Brian) Brian using this account name in order to promote any KTM events and cool things we are doing in the areas of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin. Wanted to use this user name as I am also associated with STT and wanted to make it so that when promoting, it isn't confused with STT events and deals, etc. We will hopefully be working with STT on events with them soon and will certainly keep you all posted, but my new job is with KTM/Husaberg and wanted to make announcements for you all. Cheers, Brian
  11. Repost, man... As for differences, it is honestly, nigh and day. More power, better exhaust, better suspension, everything... Faster, better, and handles better... Worth the extra change.
  12. OK, to get rid of th guess work and everyone suggesting places... Here's th COMPLETE list of SD 990s in Ohio: NOTE: NOBODY is listed in order. Just as I found them from my generated list... 2007s: -Championship outside Toledo - (1) Orange and (1) Black. Ask for Jim or Julie -Ohio Motorcycle in Columbus - (1) Orange and (1) Black. Ask for Dave -Wheelsport in Reynoldsburg - (1) Orange and (1) Black. Ask for Wally -Holeshot in Akron - (1) Anthrazit. Ask for Candice -Point View Cycle in Canfield - (1) Antrazit. Ask for Chip 2008s: -MX Motorsports in Zanesville - (1) Orange. Ask for Jerry -Roush Motorsports in Medina - (1) Orange and (1) Black and (1) White. Ask for Frank -Athens Sport Cycle in Athens - (1) Black. Ask for Chad -Ohio Motorcycle in Columbus - (1) Orange and (1) R Model. Ask for Dave -Championship outside Toledo - (1) R Model. Ask for Jim or Julie -Wheelsport in Reynoldsburg - (1) R Model. Ask for Wally There are ZERO 09s and no 2010s were brought to the US... Ask for the names above and tell them what I told you via PMs... Now, before anyone gets their panties in a bunch over prices, understand that some of the 990s were sold at either auction or under a rebate deal KTM set forth. Some dealers have these (read, most in Ohio at least) from original purchase. They didn't get the lower dealer cost so, don't think they are trying to rip you off. Supporting them locally is only going to keep them running stronger. These bikes are a PILE of fun and I have probably more miles than anyone on one via the track. VERY capable bike and certainly worth looking at. If you can swing it, buy the R Model. Worth the extra change. Buy a subframe and setup off a 2007 and get it set for passenger use... You'll be happy that way and will b glad you got the R Model...
  13. Tame compared to what? It's a pretty cool and fun track for all experience levels. I wouldn't call it tame so that a fairly inexperienced rider goes out thinking they can RC it right off the bat and ball stuff up... It's got some challenges... Maybe if you are at Browning or Gibson's level, I understand that comment. Maybe you are, but I'd be careful making it sound like a beginner track...
  14. Neither are street dealers. Cleveland Akron may have some on the floor, however and may be like Wally where they have left over inventory. No dealers in Ohio signed up for street in 2010...
  15. That's not why at all... There is still the Amherst location. Yes, they moved a LOT of staff out to CA, but the Dukes weren't at auction due to the move. They have another one coming up in a week...
  16. PM Me as to exactly what you are looking for. No KTM Street dealers in Ohio. I will look and see who the closest is for you when you get me what exactly you are looking for...
  17. I'm not going to pollute Mid-O's post here, but Jesus, dude... Did you not see the OR event we posted for Gingerman? Did you sign up for that? Maybe the event where you got tires and a track day cheaper than one day at some events elsewhere...? I mean, if it is a deal that we offer $10 as a "counter", are you immediately going to sign up? We've been offering deals and deals. Between track days and tire specials that cannot be beat, I'd say STT is looking out for you guys. And not to get NESBA involved, but they are offering free trial events for you guys, as well... This is somewhat the concern over many of the same companies being sponsors on a site. It's just amazing that things are never good enough for some people. Mid-O is offering a deal and we get people "waiting" on the counters... Seriously... Back to your regularly schedule programs... Sorry Mid-O.
  18. There might be a certain gentleman wearing an orange shirt there...
  19. Ok, bike is at $5000 PLUS 5 FREE TRACK DAYS!!! Everything listed and swap out springs and 5 free track days for $5k!! % days is like over $1k off the asking price!!! I need this out of my garage folks. Bike can be seen as it is just north of Columbus.
  20. Why would you want it to be to a point it locks instantly? I would suggest like Flounder stated and make it so it doesn't lock actually. Please tell me you don't use it as a primary stopping platform...
  21. I won't have the bike by then and will be out of town riding Husabergs!!
  22. Great place and good for all skill levels. When you all going there? I'll have my 450 XC-W Six Days soon and would like to get some riding in...
