  1. I'm an old school guy that avoided the slipper clutch deal as long as i could. Then, I rode bikes with them and realized that they are as useful as race tires at a track day. Street use? Who cares. It isn't an issue on anything other than stated above with big twins and liter bikes - and even not so much then. At the track? You can go so much faster with one than w/o. Even the best control one has cannot make up for the slipper. It's bang, bang, bang and pop the lever... Bike catches up nicely and allows more control. Of course, I find it more fun on the RC8 with the way it drowns the rear cylinder to act like a slipper. It will lock and slide the rear with pretty great control. The 1000? It has a modded slipper and is great on the down shifts. Almost boring, actually. Still slides a bit, but not out as much as the twins I have ridden... Stays in line for the most part and is civilized. Shame... But to answer everyone's question, once you ride and adapt to a slipper, I promise you'll never wish to go back...
  2. Not a problem. The toughest thing for most riders is taking constructive criticism. The thing is that in most cases, it is rider error and not an issue with the track. If it was, there would have been a TON of people crashing there, right? So, that leaves it as an issue on the rider's part and solving that only makes you learn more. Trust me, I make mistakes enough for everyone and I can only do better if i recognize the mistakes at once. I typically try and do segment work. Try working on three connected turns on one lap for about 3 laps total. Get those working and move to another series. If you are behind me, you will see me shaking my head at times. I make mistakes and get pissed at myself and try and fix it the next lap. It's all a series of lessons. Even the best make mistakes. They ALWAYS do. Look at Stoner with a 6 second lead. Made a mistake... Happens to everyone. It's how you take that mistake and learn from it that makes you better.
  3. You were slightly off the throttle at the point of the dip. Same as trailing brake in that case. The dip might have accentuated the motion, but you rolled out slightly. Listen closely to the video and you can hear a bit of on and off the throttle... Loaded the front and washed it out. Trust me, the dip alone isn't going to cause it at that speed. Think about the carousel at Mid-Ohio. Much worse a dip and catches some guys as they brake or roll out right there. A lot of highsides, too with rolling on hard while the rear squashes... Not calling you out, but that was throttle or slight brake there... Again, crank the volume and listen...
  4. Yeah, we actually entertained and almost actually did, race a ZX12 in the WERA National Endurance Series. At the time, Corona tried a Busa with mediocre success. We were with Team Green at the time and they were cool with the idea. Just too much work... In hindsight, it would have been cool if we could have got it working...
  5. You guys be careful up there. Wish I could have gone. Just too much traveling and not enough time at home to get things done. Maybe next event...
  6. Good idea... Like I stated, you get what you pay for and if anyone thinks these cheap sunglasses are good, they don't understand what makes good, good...
  7. Gotcha. You are correct. I know a certain guy that showed 200 (Speedo error for sure, but you get the idea...) on a ZX12 once. It sucked to get anything done other than stay in the same lane. Even that was tough as the cross wind was a factor... Or so I was told... But to have to change direction to avoid something? Pretty tough w/o major issues...
  8. Are you basing this on your ability or someone else's? The reason I ask is that you may not be able to react at 170, but others can. Just don't lump everyone in at the same place... If you cannot see a tire ahead at any speed, it has nothing to do with the speed, but rather your ability to judge depth at that speed. Again, some can... Some cannot. As for the 270 thing. Right... 170 on 270 is not very bright... For anyone.
  9. Any that are any good are. The process of creating polarized sunglasses is what the expense comes from. The ones you sell are probably not even a film, but a coating which is even worse. Stuff like Oakley actually has it impregnated within the plutonite lens itself. The higher end glasses like Maui Jim use a high tech film between layers of lens material. Slightly worse than the Oakley methid, but still better than $20 glasses... If you believe $20 glasses are just as good as $200 glasses...
  10. Not justifying running, but at what point did you NOT think you could get away on a ZX14? Seriously... Crawford County and surrounding is as flat and square as any place on the planet. Tuck and go. However, to say you are 14/15 and you had that kind of jump on the guy, you are full of shite. I call BS on the 14/15. I think you got college beer math going here...
  11. Uh, first of all, you're a tool bag for running and reaching those speeds at that time of night. No worries. But, RT23 is in the middle of Wyandot County and nowhere near Crawford... And is a 4 lane freeway... You might wanna get things straight before you go tellin fish stories...
  12. Loading ANY bike backwards in a P/U truck is one of the most labor intensive and wastes of energy one can do. Unless you have a loading dock.... I can guarantee you can load and unload a bike easier if forward facing. The ease you experienced unloading is minimal compared to unloading if forward facing... Do it right. Also, no need for 300 tie downs. Two on the forks and MAYBE one to secure the rear is all you need. Guys go over board with tie downs... These aren't 15' diameter steel rolls we are hauling...
  13. Keith Code no longer runs at Mid-Ohio... The options for Ohio only are Mid-Ohio and Nelson Ledges. Try checking outside Ohio and you will find plenty of tracks within a reasonable distance. If you ran Texas, you were used to driving hours to get to a track...
  14. Busting your balls, man. Would it be normal of me to answer in a civilized manner? Especially back to you? Fag.
  15. Just because you have "prior trackday experience" doesn't mean you're any good at it... There are people with "experience" and the experience they have is bad...
  16. Huh? Bazaaz is going to offer him WAY more. Unless not available for his year bike... Bazaaz can stack, can have a self map option, Q/S, etc. You can do that with the PC3, as well with exception to self map and of course, traction control... As for the racer comment, you used it first and honestly, racers are where the R&D is done and proven. Finally, the self map thing is great for street guys as conditions change constantly and they can adjust when need be. A GREAT tool and definately worth the money if need be. If he wants just the base unit, they are slightly more money, but in the end, he has more options. So, the Bazaaz is better...
  17. I'll have to check. The issue will be axle size obviously. I will ask one of our tech guys... What year?
  18. One, it is a Husaberg. Two, read my post asshat. Said they were back ordered... KTM wheels are the same that are needed on the Husaberg. 2+2=4...
  19. Again, it is a better unit and is NEW and IMPROVED over the PC3... The issue is they do not make them for older model bikes. The PC5 is designed to combat the Bazaaz unit. It will include a self mapping feature and better stackability much like what can be done with the Bazaaz... It doesn't really affect prices of the PC3 that much, but it will in a manner as the PC3 is old technology now. However, it will remain stable in price due to it being offered for older model year machines...
  20. That's because there isn't info on "numerous" fried ECUs...
  21. Uh, wrong... Bazaaz units are the top choice of most racers. PCs are the ones that are frying and taking dumps. Brand new units and once bolted on, they go ka-put. Call Reuben at 35 Motorsports and talk with someone that actually knows about them and get his opinion. Some guys have had issues because they do not clear the maps and lay another map on top of another one and cause issues, but that is due to user error and not understanding how it works. Get the Bazaaz unit and you can have self mapping and be able to tune your bike in best...
  22. Wheels are back ordered until July. Unless someone has a set for a KTM, I have to wait...
  23. Who gives two shits? Really... Buy what YOU like. Who cares if they are sponsored on other brands of bikes. The guy busting your balls over it being a Kaw and he's riding the slowest and tamest 1000 of the lot... The thing you will need to do is get the tank to match whatever scheme you decide on. Get ahold of Paul (Attackpainter) and get him to do it... I have seen these sets and they actually are pretty good. The ones I saw were cleared over stickers and were pretty good quality plastic.
  24. Wait... I get it... You meant to do a sportbike in Police livery and run it at speed... I see know...
