  1. Exactly. What you are doing, Don is considering the whole link with plates and pins as one unit. The master link is two pins (or, two links). So, you can only have even numbered links. Well, there's such a thing as a half link, but... So, yes to your question. You need TOTAL of 110 links. My suggestion is always cut larger than you need and make sure. Sort of measuring twice and cutting once. But with $100 + chains, cutting too short is really a bummer...
  2. Why not? Seize and not crash and get hurt. What's wrong with wishing the motor to blow? Wide open on a bike like that can lead to failure. Being stupid might lead to motor failure... MIGHT teach a lesson.
  3. Dude, what's the beef here? See, people who ride may read these threads and maybe the tool box who was riding like an idiot might see he was acting like one and POSSIBLY think next time... I know, I know... You are essentially making fun of people acting like they know it all. Simple question - do you? I don't always know best. I am not a saint, either. But, I can tell when someone is riding over their head and when they are riding way too aggressive for the traffic they are in.
  4. At least you were probably doing it right...
  5. 1200, but a sportster... Yeah, he was pretty tapped out from the screaming the motor was doing. How great it would have been to seize a piston at that speed... He was so scared at the cop that he kept checking the mirrors. Can you see anything in the mirrors of a Sportster?
  6. Yup, mis-spelled... That's what happens on a phone when posting... Damn thumbs.
  7. One, it is a sportster. Two, riding like a tard. Three, acting like you're qualifying. Dude, the roads were damp, heavier traffic and you running 90 plus. Elbows out and in full tuck. Thanks for leaving such a great impression on everyone creating a great stereotype for us motorcyclists. Wish that Dublin cop would have clocked you. Which leaves me to a suggestion. Look up the road. Dousche bag.
  8. Sorry for not being able to make it out Friday. Work has had me slammed and once again, missed out on something that shouldn't have been missed. Justin, Sinner... You guys know that if you need ANYTHING, I am here. I am at a loss for words and know that Pops was a great guy. The pic on the front page says it all. Met him for the first time at Nelson Ledges while Justin was racing. Such passion and excitement. Above all, love for his son that day from the seemingly worried expressions to the face of excitement when he was out there running laps. I love seeing the relationship between son and father. I can only hope to touch my son's life in such a way. Cheers to Pops. You will be missed.
  9. You guys need parts, ask for Bryan. He's not only a great parts guy, but rides a Triumph as well. Was into the racing thing and is definately a sport minded guy, but can easily talk touring or whatever... Been at Thiel's for over 10 years.
  10. Trust me... Ask me how we know this stuff... Your bike may be different, but a modern R6, GSXR anything, etc are going to need to add trail to turn better and be ridden harder through turns. As for wider tires, until you can get through a turn fast enough to warrant extra meat, you're simply wasting money and making the bike work harder. Again, AMA guys running 190s on 600s are doing it since they tend to carry more corner speed than average guys do...
  11. Not necessarily... On the newer crop of bikes, you raise the fronts and lower the rears adding trail... The idea behind wider tires is due to power put on the ground. AMA guys are running 60-65 sidewalls with a Dunlop 190 rear... There are no two tire types or sizes that are always the same. No industry standard if you will... A 190 from one company may be more narrow that another... Not sure on your RC, but if you raise the rear (old school idea) on a newer generation bike, you're making things tougher on yourself.
  12. Call Reuben if you need stock stuff. Guarantee he's got some things. If for track use, get on the WERA board. They have stuff that is cheaper than Ebay and certainly any salvage shop or similar... Put on a WTB thread on the WERA forums.
  13. I think you mean the new GSXR1000 and the new Kaw. Might be right on the R1... I'll look tomorrow at Pony. My gas charged forks are set up and you don't use the bottom adjusters at all...
  14. I forgot about that! Thats where I will be... We gotta get together to talk schedule, tough guy!
  15. Actually, my forks are set up to have Compression left fork and right is Rebound... Dead serious... Like a MTB fork essentially...
  16. Wow what? You are so far out in left field, man... Back up what you are saying... Maybe I am mis-reading you.
  17. Come ride Putnam with Reuben and I...
  18. Are you seriously saying the degree of the road is wearing out the steering head bearings? Seriously??? You also believe that you are wearing one side more than another by riding on the road???? Wow... You do understand that the forks do not work independantly, right, but rather as one unit? The angle doesn't push one fork up further than the other...
  19. We had a race bike we rode for a team that never serviced it properly. head shake was only at really high speeds. Go through the kink at Nelson's and it was so bad, it would kick you out of the seat. Checked it out and it was loose steering head bearings...
  20. Uh, no. You have symptoms of a tire issue, loose stering head, worn bearings, etc. You can let go of a scooter's bars and it should be tracking stright and smooth... Hob- Could be a tire issue, but I suspect steering head bearings. Raise the bike up via bottom of the triple clamps. You need to suspend so you can freely move the front. Grab the bottom of the forks and push and pull. If you have slop, there's your issue. I have a front end stand that allows for this, but not sure of the pin will fit. If it does, you are welcome to try it. Hell, we could meet and tell within minutes...
  21. Hell, just come to the track or maybe we need to do a suspension day where I can convince Reuben to come to CBus and we help all you folks out. What do you guys think of that? Maybe do a deal where we get Reuben say, gas money and we get some pizzas, etc... I can ask his thoughts, but maybe even if we incorporate a site sponsor like Pony or something and usetheir parking lot/garage or something???
  22. Stated they are 19". As for offset, they fit about any Nissan product. The fronts are 8" wide and the rears are 8.5" wide...
