My bad. Then yes. I was like WTF? I think it also makes sense to avoid the next year if possible also in terms of taxes.

Then you'd be out of business in no time. Dealerships are starting to not even lay off people during winter because they focus on service and after sales. If you were to close a dealership for 4 months, you'd lose customers. That's not what is going on here... Nobody does that.

Has anyone called? I am still hearing closed...

Thinking of buying a van to haul bike but i have some questions.
Moto-Brian replied to cOoTeR's topic in Dumpster
The turbos need to be replaced a good bit. I had a couple of friends that had them since new and ran them to those miles and had some turbo issues. I think the newer ones are OK, but they are a lot more. I think it was all turbo related. I will ask them and maybe tell you what I find out for you to know. They are certainly bad ass and I want to do one with a lift look or maybe big tires and racks, etc. But, couldn't find one with decent miles and not white... -

Be cautious. Once they click 100k, they tend to start eating turbos and parts... -
I just recently found out that Ryan Longstreth who some of you may know from Cycra - he was the Brand Manager - had passed away a few days ago from an accident with a deer while riding his street bike. This really rings home for me as when I first started out in the motorcycle industry outside the dealership, I worked with Cycra a short period. But, Ryan and I had hit it off and we stayed in contact seeing each other at events and through the years, he has always talked street bikes. Working in the MX/SX side of the business, he was this closet street bike guy. Always wanting to discuss street bikes and how I was doing with work and racing. The guy had an impact on me at the early start of my career doing this and I was shocked to hear of his passing. So, this is just simply a thanks to Ryan and a blessing of Godspeed to him and my condolences to his family.

I've hauled numerous things. Diavel with mirrors, hyper, 1199, RC8, two dirty bikes and three brand new dirty bikes. Take some thought, but the first time you haul your bike and it's raining or snowing? Sold!! And even with the van lifted 6", it is still lower than a stock pick up. -

Um, people travel all over to buy things like this... I bought a car in NC, bought another in NJ, one in CA... Doesn't matter where it is being sold... -

I'd be willing to sell my 1997 E350 van. It has been so damn great to own that I am wanting a newer one with a diesel. So, I may sell this one. I have a couple of options. 1) I sell it as is and would be asking about $10k. Pretty fair as the components on this thing are NOT just springs and spacers. It is a legit lift that was well designed and looked to as being the best pre-runner setup you can buy. Specs are below. Again... maybe less... 2) buy it as stock with the new components from the new van I buy and essentially take it back to stock. I would sell it for $6k OBO. Specs: -130k miles -Auto -SCT Tuner for mapping -Pre-runner (NOT 4x4 like it appears) -Action Van lift that has control arms, blocks, springs, bushings, Bilsteins, brackets, and Bilstein steerin damper. Kit cost $3k -Teflon coated American Racing 17" wheels wrapped in Hankook tires with a full size spare. -Bushwhacker fender flares -Aluminess rear spare tire carrier -Aluminess front brush and light bar -Curtis tow package -full exhaust with Magna Flow muffler -Limo tint all the way around. NOBODY can see inside what you are hauling. -Removed carpet in back and replaced with 1/2 marine grade plywood that has been stained black to avoid chips and visible gouges. -Rubber truck bed mat to protect the wood and provide sound deadening. -E-Track front and rear to haul bikes -Pit Bull removable front wheel chock -Pit Bull trailer Restraint base for TRS -Kenwood DVD/stereo with iPod connect, Navigation and movie play on the go setup Had the following done recently: -Plugs replaced at 100k -New battery at about 120k -New transmission lines (T-line at side of tranny) replaced about 5k ago -New brake lines replaced about 10k ago -Transmission fluid and filter change at 5k ago Basically, she is solid and runs great. HAS SOME RUST as all these vans do. You will not find a pre-2000 without the rust where this one is showing it. Several 2000-2004s are rusted to hell and back actually. It's tough finding them... Anyways, if you're interested. If not, take a look at the pics below and at least you will see what I did. All the seats are still here, but I remove them in order to use the back. -
Yeah... He just wanted to sit on it like we have him sit on everything else. Just this time, he had what he thought to be his big boy pants on and KABOOM! Over she went. Him under the bike and freakin out. No harm done, but kinda funny...

I don't know the whole story, but I can say after dealing with the Clinton County guys since they've been open, the family of Dave, Brad and Mike have ALWAYS been honest, up front and noble. Nothing less. Now, things may be changed since I was in there last a year ago, but all I can say is that sounds like you got a deal where you pay for a bike and they gave a dicso on parts. That disco was rolled out of the margin in the bike. So, bike costs $1000. Margin is 15% let's say. That means the price to the dealer is $850. The $150 was used up in getting you a disco on parts. They still probably were making money on parts as they retain on average 30-50%. But, if you decline the parts, they need to up the price of the bike or they could be losing money. Not sure. The details are somewhat weird. But in any case, before it becomes a total cluster fuck, the people at Clinton County are great folks, support the sport and do a LOT for the community and do a lot of events.

So, we decided to go another route. This is a SUPER clean bike and literally was ridden maybe three times since we bought it last year. The issue is that we live too far away and my son wants to do flat tracking before he steps into the big road race bikes. So, we have this for sale only because we have access to riding XRs so much more frequently. The bike was purchased by an OMYL member and was well put together. Had a few things we changed that were just not up to my standards like the switch, safety wiring, etc. But rest assured, it was well put together. My issues were trivial... The specs: 2004 NSR50 - $1500 Jemco pipe Cylinder ported and head cut by Billy Weiss Oversized aluminum radiator - lighter than stock and better cooling capacity Fiberglass upper - more durable than stock All unnecessary tabs removed and subframe shortened to save weight Framesliders with custom bracket to allow them quick removal. 24mm round-slide Keihin carb Water temp gauge 1/8 turn throttle Set up for gp shift Decent spares kit with plugs, a head and base gasket, spare levers Spare NEW Dunlop. Just one. The second one was sold to someone with another NSR... Bike will come with a basic rear stand. NOT THE PITBULL PICTURED. BAD: It does have a cracked right fairing. This was due to a 3 yr old tornado that knocked it off the stand. It is set to work, but should be patched. Bike was originally Matte Black and my son liked the Matte White look so... I know it is the wrong time of year to sell and we will hold on to it until Spring if needed. But figured it was close to Christmas and maybe an early gift to someone. Pics:

Yes, it appears to have been an animal. Not a booby trap. Sad to see as he was an amazing dude and a genuine guy.

My time at KTM was wonderful. Tons of fond memories and soooo many amazing people. I was kind of an outsider to a degree because I was such a road guy. I had some MX experience and worked for several companies that were top MX brands. The one thing that stands out was just how great the people were. The regional reps that welcomed me in and became brothers to me, the management that were so core off road and to the racers. I've had the honor of hanging around some of the worlds best racers that get swarmed by fans for autographs. They are well recognized in whatever field of racing they compete. And at KTM, Kurt Caselli was god. In being around these guys so often, you become calloused to the fact they are so high level and so recognized. They are so normal and so down to earth. I never got to really spend any time with Kurt, but met him a couple of times at dealer meetings and such. I do know how great a personality he was. He was like so many other athletes I've met. Such a friendly dude and never once full of himself. Dunno. I'm at a loss. It brings back memories of friends and colleagues I've met along the way. I have so many new friends at the new gig, but can never forget those I've met up to this point. It's too often that we lose a great athlete to the sport of motorcycling. It causes a brief moment of realizing mortality and just how dangerous this all is. I've watched friends pass away. I've seen friends injured severely. But I've watched the human spirit live on and show us the true reason why I love this sport. Kurt Caselli was an amazing racer and a great human being. God speed, Kurt.

Where to find highest prices on oem parts?
Moto-Brian replied to Gixxus Christ!'s topic in LBTS GLWS
I agree on getting as much as you can, but the thing that rubs me the wrong way is that you come on a public forum and ask how you can jack everything up just before a point they could consider totalling it. You should have simply asked what was a good source to quote parts for your crash repair and been done with it. You adding in the "screw those guys" flavor and it comes off wrong. I am all on your side to try and get as much as possible if it wasn't your fault. But it certainly comes off as trying to screw the system... If it was an accident and simply human error, you should get what you deserve and that is all. That includes any emotional and physical damages to a point. But to make it all public with a tone of vengence is somewhat bothersome. -
M1100 EVO is pretty bad ass. The new M1200 and M1200S are going to rock also. Have the DS MTS1200 motor...

This is brilliant of HD. It really is and will grab several current metric owners that simply cannot buy an HD or go to the big 4 for entry level bikes until they can be an HD owner... Like it or not, it is great marketing. Grab them early and convert them into HD riders. Smart.

The issue is we cannot get the performance and longevity and low service hours from air cooled stuff. These liquid cooled jobies are getting the performance we desire and as enthusiasts, LOVE. Don't get me wrong... I love me some air cooled Ducs. I really do. I see them and fall in love. They have a soul. I think several of our bikes have souls. The Pani is the most amazing bike I have raced. I know that the future may being us better bikes and will have me saying this same thing again. But, compared to my GSXR that was awesome, fast and brilliant - the Duc has something where it causes emotion. Even the RC8 didn't cause me to smile as much as this thing does. The Hyper, The MTS, the Monsters. All bring me to thoughts of why I enjoy motorcycles. When I ride a Japanese bike, I feel the engineering has made it almost too perfect. And, the Pani flirts with that idea. Until you fire it up, hear it blast a striaght at the track, or when you look at it... The new Monster is amazing. It is pure Ducati and takes what they have always had and simply evolved it a little. It really does take that heritage and builds on it...

You are among several that are not well sorted in today's Ducati. No special tools other than a rear axle socket. None. Hell, I had more special tools needed for my GSXRs than I need for the Panigale I have. Also, major service intervals are 15k plus on every Duc now. Every single one in the line... The thing to remember is that yes... in the past, they had issues, had low service intervals and had to rely on special stuff to operate them. I believe that IP can maybe attest, but even the belts are easy to maintain...

Stunning yet powerful in person. Yes, more weight. But, you get 35 more hp standard and 45 more for the S. White is actually great, but the red is really sharp and my fav.

Not sure. I could try and test fit, but really don't want to try and get it scuffed. The capacity is more than required. It is at minimum the same capacity as the Armor version which I also have. I would sell it separately if I can sell the other kits at the same time. I'd sell the fairing kit for $500 and the belly and radiator kit for $200. That's the price of Armor on the fairings and a bit more than the Armor belly, but the deal is this piece is WAY more durable and stronger. -
