  1. Any ideas where to advertise it? I was going to do Craigs in WV and places like Cincy and such. I tried the Ohio Mountain Bike site and it went nowhere. I think the price is more than fair. I wanted $1500 before and figured $1200 would get people to bite. The thing with this bike that hurts it is the fact it can't go disc. That's why I am selling it so cheap.
  2. XR100s are what a few stunters I know trained with. I wouldn't suggest a full size MX bike... Ask or PM 12 o'clock. He seems pretty decent in doing it. I know if you do any endos or compete in that event, you are going to need a damper. I know the guys who do it have them, at least...
  3. Working in the motorcycle industry. Not as a dealer employee, but deeper and with athletes and some really cool top guys. Oh, wait...
  4. It's their 19". I'm 6'1" and it fits me rather well...
  5. Uh, re-read my thread and the true times are in there. I was lying about the 1:27 and 1;06 times... I was providing an example of how things can get out of control...
  6. Again, if you only knew the number of guys I have heard tell me lap times they have done at whatever track and stated they saw it on their lap timers. People tell fish stories all the time. I'll start: Mid-Ohio: 1:27 Putnam Park: 1:11-:12 Nelson Ledges 1:06 I mean, who can prove it otherwise? I ran the best lap at a track day at Mid-Ohio. Never raced since 2003 there. I did a 1:32 in a track day setting. At Putnam, those times were legit as I finished behind Reuben who beat Mark there that weekend. He was doing :10s and low :11s... Nelson I have only done high 1:08s. Point is someone can fudge numbers and it be BS...
  7. And. there were no MyLaps back when we used to race Putnam seriously with WERA. So, it's really tough to go by and do seriously.
  8. I'm asking $1200. That's pretty fair considering a typical mountain bike with VERY low end features would run you around $1k... Add it up. They would run you about $5k when it was said and done. That bike when in stock form was over $1200 alone. $3800 is in the wheels, forks, XTR, posts, bars, tires, computer, etc... It isn't a Target or Wal-Mart bike, but you dare not seriously ride one of those at a place like Alum Creek...
  9. I wouldn't disallow ANY rider's times - racer or not. I'd add Beaver Run, Grattan, Gingerman, VIR, Road Atlanta (list configuration), Summit, Barber, etc. All well within the areas people ride and travel for track stuff...
  10. Dude, this is going to be a mess. My Laps is really the only proof you can have at actual lap times. Even lap timers like an XT are fudged as nobody really knows the truth. So many guys "claim" a certain lap time, but in reality, it isn't so... So, I could say I ran a 1:09 flat at Putnam Park when in fact it was Mark Junge when he set the lap record in 03. I could also say I did a :33 at Mid-Ohio during World Cup Qualifying, but it was the old pavement and that time is not impressive nowadays.... See what I mean? Point is that I think people can do this for fun, but it isn't worth much.
  11. I'm getting a Gary Fisher Paragon 29er hard tail... This needs to go bye-bye...
  12. The 07/08 CBR 600s are DAMN good and a great choice for track. Their downside is only that a lot of guys don't have spares floating around for those years... Other than that, it really is a good deal. Getting a title is something that you are going to have a tough time with. PM Reuben at 35 motorsports (sponsor section) and ask him how to. He does salvage bike sales and buying all the time. From what I know, it gets kinda tough unless on their end they can do a Mechanic's Lean and get you one... In reality, a LOT of bikes are Bill of Sale only or have just MSOs. A lot of track only bikes don't have titles... It's VERY common and easy to work with...
  13. You can buy an 06/07 R6 very well set-up for track for about $6-$7k 07/08 CBRs are from $7-$8k it seems. Now, take the $2500 you have in that CBR... Add: 1) Plastics - cheap you are looking at $400 2) Suspension - $1500 at the low end of things - used rear shock or rebuilt with new internals. 3) Rearsets - probably $200 used at best 4) clip-ons - $100 used at best 5) Fairing stay - $120 at best used 6) exhaust - $650 best used 7) Brake lines - $100 8) 520 conversion and chain - $100 best 9) misc stuff you need like bolts and such - $25 That's a minimum of $3200 to make it worthy as what you'd buy on WERA as a used race bike in similar condition (salvage title or bill of sale). That's about $5700 best deal and you searching your ass off for used parts. Plus, that drive and such, but if you'd find a good used race bike in the same area of years, you'll probably drive and get it so, it is a moot point... So, you probably can save anywhere between $300 and $1500 buying this one you list...
  14. No offense, but that 08 CBR is a better track bike... 03 750s have a soft spot in my heart, but it isn't as good a tool as this 08 600... You can easily sell the bike as a race or track bike to anyone else as long as he has a good Bill of Sale. He could also get it Notorized (suggested) and it wouldn't be anything to sell it off later. Plus, when he goes to sell it, it will have been built as a track bike and you'd never know it looked like it does now...
  15. There should be a rebuild or salvage title. Or, they could do a Mechanic's lean on it and get a title that way. It's what Towing Companies do when nobody comes and picks up towed bikes and cars... If no title whatsoever, GET A BILL OF SALE and have them list dealer's/business license number and any persons and contacts you made. Hell, type it up on your own. Get a VIN# and call the DMV and ask if there is a lean on the bike. If there is, you're screwed. I think $2500 is a little high considering you'd have to drive 8 hours one way. That 1600 miles could be 4 tanks of gas depending on vehicle, food, hotel possibly and then your time. If you paid $1k more and got one around here, it would be a better deal... At worse case scenerio, get a SHIT pile of pics. By the way, good choice - those 600s are good uns...
  16. Before you get all excited, understand a few things... Companies that have legit ebay stores will make good money. However, listing fees, selling fees, PayPal fees, shipping costs, labor to run that division of the shop, money spent on a website that directs people there, etc. are HUGE money costs. Most shops realize quickly that they spend a LOT compared to what they make. You can sell crap all day long an "make money", but in reality, it isn't going to be something you can live off... If it is, you'll have to be selling PILES of stuff each day to do so. Even then, the mragins will be tight... I'd focus on Craigslist before I would consider an Ebay store. Ebay is getting to the point it is getting harder and harder to find great deals. Plus, with companies mandating price protection on new products, people pay the same amount for the same product and it is listed 100 times...
  17. It's not a problem. The stripper still keeps on dancing...
  18. Yeah, but only rednecks use that fucking "Chirp-Chirp" walkie talkie BS. The next time I am at the store and the 300 lbs heffer chick asks her husband what brand of ketchup they buy, I'm going to plow my shopping cart into her knees and drop her like a Pinto transmission... It's Sprint, by the way... And the fact that you can drop your phone, but only being able to use it while 3 feet from a cell tower or otherwise it has no signal ain't worth it...
  19. You have to ask yourself if you use your phone for business or use it as a status symbol. If the latter, get that flip phone you were referring to. If a flip phone is a viable option, I'd say you only got the BB to text your friends with... People who use their phones for work know that they are fragile, but also know what to use to assist in protecting them as mentioned above. I use a hard case with my phone in an effort to protect it and since it is my life line and contains WAY too much information, I try as hard as I can to get it to last.
  20. SoCal is cool. For a while... If you really want some coolness, check out NorCal. A lot greener and a lot of cool sites and places to ride. Especially dirt/off road. Hollister is a great facility to ride from single line trails to full SX tracks. It has it all. Driving from San Jose to San Fran is really cool and from San Jose to Monteray is even better. SoCal is full of pretenders and the party scene gets really old after a while. All the genuine and cool people are up north...
  21. Sold my used SR-1 suit so I am going to keep this as a spare suit in case something bad happens and I need it... I will probably be posting the Vertex white suit in a size 42/52 here in a bit for anyone wanting something, but smaller...
